People can put simple car de active devices in their cars and it’s not expensive, especially if you’re a DIY person. Most cars have now electric fuel pumps. Just install a kill switch in the main electrical line that goes to the fuel pump and hide the switch in the passenger compartment. The switch in the off position turns off electricity to the fuel pump and the engine will not start. Or a kill switch on the main ignition coil feed to the coil. Another is the timing sensor on the crankshaft of the engine. Vary simple and effective. If you are not mechanically inclined then talk to your mechanic. Material costs is probably around 30.00 plus labor time. But I bet it’s a hole lot less than your auto insurance deductible.
If the police would have done their job the last 2 years, car thefts would have been a third of what it was last year. We have all seen dozens of cars everyday with no plates and officers were not allowed to pursue and if caught the thieves were released the same day and cruzin again in a stolen car that night.
I agree with you. I see no plated cars and trucks all the time , every day. Then there’s car and trucks that don’t have a front license plate also . So where’s the other plate. Oregon motor vehicle code requires a front license plate also or it’s a traffic violation.
Then also I was thinking vehicles with inoperative tail lights, front headlights etc which are code infractions. By stopping vehicles with equipment failures then running their plates extra they will find other stuff. It’s just plain nuts n bolts policing really all the time.
