I have 2 sons and we lived in the inner city. Well having 2 sons and becoming the official police approved "Safe House" (verbal agreements & conversations wh the community Leason officer and many of the parents). I had at any given time 8 plus my 2 boys and 1 tomboy girl, my beautiful Catherine (im so so so proud of her). Well as i first click on this viedo (i love your content and voice its very calming) I realize for 15yrs I had a family of a dozen. It like never dawned on me till just now. now Ik why i resonate with you so much. Laundry and vacuuming were a nightmare so were dishes in the sink. These kids didn't have the best of lives or parental guidance from mom and or dad for various reasons but for sure me and my now x husband gave them what they were missing, and I am proud of every single one of them and the adults they have become... i miss that life becoming an empty nester after devoting my life to children and now its just me.... is hard!
I also feed our chickens kitchen scraps, but save some of them to make broth. Non starchy veggie scraps - peels and/or ends of carrots, mushrooms, onions, garlic, celery, green onions, and fresh herbs. I just keep a freezer bag in the freezer and add scraps to it as I cook through the week. I also save bones. When the bags are full, I make broth. Pour the broth into jars, let them cool completely, then freeze for future use.
Your new front rug is beautiful! I just moved house almost 2 weeks ago and I was so excited for a washing cart that pushes the washing basket. I feel like I really levelled up in adulthood 😂 You have such a soft relaxing voice, you should look into making children’s books and reading them so children can listen to you tell your stories. I know I’d listen to them haha.

I’m having a “good” day, and wow it’s great to feel like I can actually get a few things accomplished. Menopause is the absolute pits...I truly wish I could have somehow known just how bad I would feel @ 50, I would have done SO much more in my life before then...now, I just have to wait till I have a day that I can move more than 5 feet without being drenched in sweat, on those days Mumma gets her hustle on and look out, the other days...which can be weeks, well I’ve just learned I have to live with the mess. No one needs a whole lot of toys/gadgets. The simplest, common things are often perfect for imagination. The most famous technique is to use a large box and children will use it to make things. In my classroom at age 5 we had a big box of other boxes etc. I used recyclable boxes and other plastic products as an activity related to the group book. The majority of kids loved creating things and then sharing their creations,. Xx
I have a fun tip for the chickens! Find a local wasp/bee remover that doesn't use chemicals and ask them to save you the comb with the live larvae in it. Amazing protein for the chicks and also your eggs!

I don't know if you know this, but you can take your egg shells dry them out and crumble them in the chicken scraps to make the eggs they lay harder shelled. It is like the laying mash with the oater shells crumbled it it, but home made version.
We do shoe baskets too, my kids call them cubbies, and they go under the bench in our foyer. They work great until the one-year-old decides they're toys. But in a closet it should work even better.
The good ol’ laundry basket is the best car hack! I use it to bring things in when I clean out my van, too. The other thing it is great for is saving time and energy in bringing bulky Costco groceries in! Xx

I have two in my kitchen (by sink and stove), and they are so amazing, I actually bought one for inside my little camping trailer. You might like them too. : )

It looks presentable, and right there in league with those "house proud" women. 🏡 *remember that British group that sang that song, "Our House"? Well there's a verse in it that you'd like. You'd probably like the whole song. I think it's a classic now.
There are only 2 ways to clean. The Mount Vernon method where you start at the door and move clockwise, cleaning and tidying as you go around the room. The second is the Mt. Vesuvius method. Empty it, clean it and only put back what you need. Each season, each room may be different so you are doing great Momma! It seems to be a Mt. Vesuvius season at my house too.

I see a new kid chore: clean the shoe closet. Sort and sweep... 7 year old could do it I think. Iffy on the sweeping, but it is possible to learn to sweep at that age. I want to see the chore rotation for that large group of children . How do you assign and reward? What is chores and what is paid?

Food prep is one of the many things I've learned from you and it's saved us from throwing away so much uneaten food. I'm {we're} still struggling with the apples though. My kids are 17 & 18 and love apples, but they seem to eat then faster when they're already cut for them {my friends say they're spoiled LoL}. I don't mind doing it, but how do I keep them from turning brown? Tfs 😊
You might want to check out Costco for flocked hangers. They are very cheap and surprisingly sturdy. They are great for keeping clothes on the hangers and take up very little space.
I second this :) I huge box at Costco, in Canadian dollars is 29 .99, so what's that in US funds, $20 bucks? The flocking on them holds the clothes on so well and really helps to prevent stuff falling to the floor all the time..ma great investment, I've slowly converted all the hangers in my home to these :)

I enjoyed this video- I love organizing! Have you ever considered putting a bunch of 3 pronged hooks in your closet instead of using hangers? You can do higher and lower ones so young kids can access their jackets but you can fit more into space. Also, if you have a traditional door somewhere the over the top shoe hanger pocket thingys are great for kids scarfs and gloves. Next time you go to Ikea check out the Brusali shoe cabinets. The units fit side by side as many as you need and each kid gets a drawer- it's saved my sanity!

Those white baskets were a little over $3 each at Walmart in the laundry basket section :)
We have 3 kids,but i use 3 gallo buckets i got free from bakery for their shoes boots etc

You can make your burgers cook more evenly by (only description I have) donut holing the middle. Making it thinner in the middle so they cook evenly also. Are two of those chickens Light Brahmas? They did so well in the winter here on the Canadian border.
