@@ClaireA_LeonB I never said that it was not a crime. What I said was that the likelihood of her serving jail time for this is slim to none. Desecrating human remain charges tend to be for murderers who have chopped a corpse up or did nasty things to a dead body as part of the killing itself or the disposal of evidence. This woman is obviously emotionally damaged and no prosecutors office, DA, judge, or jury would chose to send her to jail over getting her help for her emotional and mental health issues.
EDIT: And as for your comment about the husband's family pressing charges, by law they were married which makes her his next of kin in the eyes of the law, not his parents. They might be able to make some appeal based on her emotional state and request that they are given the rest of their son's ashes but you would need to review the law regarding next of kin/possession of the deceased remains in whatever state they reside in since it does vary.

as someone with mental health issues, and having been in touch with people with them, this makes me immensely sad. the times she says she can't help what she's doing being aware of it at the same time. the thing about addiction/ compulsory behaviour/anxiety attack isnt about wanting to do the crazy things, its about absolutely not wanting but then feeling the MUST to do something so strong that you would otherwise die, feel pain, or basically forgetting theres any other way you can behave. And then being disgusted by yourself, hating yourself, being horribly scared of waiting for the next moment you will be able to control your own mind and body. saying " then stop eating it" would not be accurate because she literally. can't. thats why in these cases you really need help and to someone to watch over you and steer you slowly back to the right track. the worst thing is that here it's mixed with grief, and it adds another layer of despair, pain and searching for some form of comfort. i dont mind the boys joking about but i think it pains me that she is not like a stupid cheepstake or so. She's suffering. I'd hug her and pay for her friggin therapy.

The companies that “make” those are actually scams. There’s not enough carbon in ashes to make diamonds, so they charge a lot of money and give people synthetic diamonds instead.
It would be better to have the ashes put into a bottle and sealed with epoxy as jewelry.

Small amounts phosphorus naturally present in foods are good for your bones, muscles and kidneys. Phosphate in larger amounts can cause death, cardiovascular disease, vasuclar damage, accelerated aging, calcium deposits, hardening of the arteries (especially in the heart), strokes, seizures and high blood pressure.
Essentially, if she keeps eating her husband's ashes, it won't be long before she joins him.
Since she's eaten about a pound of him, that's around 226,796mg of phosphate. Divide that by the 2 months she's been eating him for, that's 3,780mg a day. The RDI for people over 19 for phosphorus is 700mg, that's over 5 times the RDI.

Fun facts with sam:
- Depending on how high end the crematorium was, there’s a high likely hood that there are other peoples ashes in there as well
- She didn’t want to wipe away the small ABIUT of her husbands ashes on her fingers but the reality is that a very large portion of the ashes don’t even make it to her, and stay at the crematorium to be thrown away.
- When you’re cremated, your bigger bones don’t turn to ash and are still whole, just dry and burnt, so they are thrown into a grinder to give them that ash like appearance. That’s why there are larger chunks. Somehow knowing this makes it feel worse that she’s eating it.
- Cats WILL eat your body if they begin to starve (beginning with the nose, cheeks and eyes). Dogs, however, in most cases accidentally eat their dead owners in stress. The dog tries to lick the owners face/reachable skin in an attempt to wake them up, then getting more distressed that their owner isn’t responding, the dog continues licking as it helps them with anxiety and the salt of the body’s skin calms is nice to them. Eventually the licking causes the flesh to break and the dog continue. It’s out of love though which I find sweet.
- Having a compulsion to eat sand/powder if usually a sign of iron deficiency, and as a childcare worker I can confirm it’s really common in toddlers and young children.

I still sleep with my dog’s urn every night, he was my best friend...Oddly enough, I had seen the original video for this before he passed, so I made arrangements to handle the urn swap respectfully. I went out to our lake (where our ashes will be spread together once I’m gone) and transferred him into his nice urn while out in my kayak. I got some on my hands and washed him off in the water. He loved to swim in that lake, so I thought it was right...There’s no “perfect” way to handle someone’s ashes...but this lady...this is the wrong way...

I don’t understand how people eat stuff like this, like I understand the mental health & addiction aspects of it, but even so I’ve never once looked at my dads ashes over the last 8yrs & thought hmmm I wonder how they taste. I’ve also never once thought to “take my dad with me” somewhere, when he passed I made him a shrine like area with things that remind me of him & placed them with flowers & his ashes & they haven’t moved other than to dust the area.
For anyone curious the “shrine” is a smaller metal tool box which stays open that has his box of ashes, his cologne (same one he wore for most of my life), the hat he wore the most, his old key ring with all his keys (he always had his keys on a carabiner & they were very significant in his life), as well as photos of him & roses. It actually turned out super cute & it’s been there for the last 8yrs… god I miss that man. If you still have your dad please cherish him & give him a hug for me because in the blink of an eye without any warning he can be taken away from you. My dad went from a pretty healthy 61yr old man one day to dead the next day, by the time symptoms were shown it was too late & there was no saving him.
