    This was great! Thank-you. I didn't invest in unity because I think unreal is so much further head, but perhaps not in mobile. Any thoughts?

    "Nothing disruptive about spreading vice" had me thinking ;-)

    • @Nanalyze
      @Nanalyze  Рік тому +1

      Good call. Had us thinking as well. So prior to ESG, there used to be a coalition of investors who excluded "vice" from their investing mandates which included - guns, booze, ciggs, and gambling. (MSCI's custom index division loved this btw.) Now, ESG is this catchall for whatever politically motivated BS you want to cram down people's throats.
      To be fair, we invest in cannabis (a small amount), and that's a vice, so we're being a bit hypocritical. But gambling will never build wealth, while smoking a joint and working for eight hours straight on some creative enterprise might be more productive. We've never done that here at Nanalyze - smoked a joint and researched some technological rabbit hole for 7 hours straight. That's never happened.

    Hi Joe, I wanted to ask you this question since you bought up moat concerns with Roku. What is the guarantee that Microsoft won't do to UIPath what it did to the Anti Virus industry?

    • @Nanalyze
      @Nanalyze  Рік тому

      Good question. Once RPA solutions are entrenched in an organization and the savings are observable, it might be a real chore to convince a technical team - and the C-level - that switching makes sense. There is no guarantee of anything, but what we can do is watch net retention rate for any signs of weakness and also overall revenue growth. Might be interesting to see UiPath take this question in an earnings call.

    Tesla is not including Lidar in their FSD. The photos that you might see on the Internet with Lidar equipped cars are misleading. Lidars are used in this case for calibrating the cameras and other sensors.

    • @Nanalyze
      @Nanalyze  Рік тому

      Someone else pointed this out as well. We appreciate the insight and we're having our researcher look into this more for our upcoming LiDAR article. Thank you!

    • @ericktorres9853
      @ericktorres9853 Рік тому +1

      Can’t wait to see your new upcoming video on LiDAR. I’m a believer in the technology being a must have for FSD as a backup technology at least in case something goes wrong with the cameras and radar.

    • @daniel_960_
      @daniel_960_ Рік тому

      @@ericktorres9853 I simply don't understand why people think lidar is necessary. Just looking at Teslas visualization of the world around it tells the cameras see everything perfectly. Lidar basically uses the same optical spectrum as camera, unlike radar.
      Only difference is lidar makes a scan, while cameras rely on AI and computing.
      It's expensive, complex and adds nothing. If a company relies on lidar that just tells they don't have any capability in AI, making them a bad competitor in self driving anyway.
      Lidar is practical for the hd-mapping approach, because you can basically overlay one 3d-scan with another.
      Teslas approach doesn't have any map data, so it completely relies on AI algorithms from the get go.
      Looking at Teslas visualization they solved the sensing part long ago. All they have to do is keep training the software how to behave until it's good enough.

    Just random thoughts
    Zoom should acquire TDOC. - Then I would invest.
    ROKU - I don’t get the bull case here is this a hardware play or SAAS/Streaming?

    • @Nanalyze
      @Nanalyze  Рік тому

      A Zoom/Teladoc merger would be quite something. However, I think their businesses are too well established in their own niches for that to be feasible. A partnership maybe? As far as Roku, the bull thesis is definitely the streaming aspect. They actually sell their hardware at a loss in hopes of making up the difference on advertising. It's an interesting business model, I suppose. But not something we'd invest in. -Wyatt C.

    I wonder if Microsoft will be strong competition to Uipath 🤔 They already have power automate, openai, and copilot. I am starting to wonder if AI will propel existing monopolies further. For example, perhaps unity becomes the best game development platform, autodesk the best for cad, adobe best for photo manipulation... I heard someone in AI mention domain specific models perform best. Seeing adobes image gen, im starting to think they are right. Perhaps each existing market leader already has the data and know how to implement their own transformers. The we just have a general model which "decides" which models to use for each use case. Sorta like chatgpt 4 plugins. Man, things are gonna get wacky.

    • @Nanalyze
      @Nanalyze  Рік тому +3

      This is the sort of quality thoughtful comment we love to see. Good question on Microsoft, though large companies like that aren't as nimble. Will AI entrench existing leaders even further i.e. increase their market share? Surely wielding AI properly is a competitive advantage, and perhaps it comes down to whomever has large proprietary data sets - that's ARK's thesis on UiPath/TDOC and others, for example.

    • @Nanalyze
      @Nanalyze  Рік тому +1

      Since the funds aren't allowed to hold cash, Cathie uses megacap stocks (FAANG) as "cash-like instruments". She said in an interview that she'll sell megacaps to buy the dips on her higher-conviction holdings, and move back into the megacaps when her smaller stocks get a bit hot. I believe she held Apple in the past as one of these cash-like instruments. -Wyatt C.
