  • Super easy CEL fix for code P2261. My Veloster was plagued with the light coming on and off for years, which caused problems here and there with regards to the annual money waster of an "inspection".
This relatively cheap and easy fix is definitely the way to go.

Mine had started to rust too! Ended up accidentally breaking one of the arms for the clip that holds it steady. Glad to help!

Hey great video. Where does the hose in 8:53 the one after the inter cooler go connected. I think mine was just loose, I got a replacement piece but I don’t know where the hose goes connected . Does it go to the top black connector or the side black connector on the solenoid. 🙏🏻

hey man! my bad on the late reply, that hose leads up to the blow off / recirc valve.

What spark plugs and coils do you use? Also can you make a video on common problems you have with your veloster and what you did to fix them. I have a veloster and right now I have a ton of codes and honestly have alot of questions. Not sure if you can answer them but nobody around me has a veloster and/or know how to fix it. Also great video!

Thanks! I can try and make a video sometime on that, thanks for the idea! As far as plugs and coils, I have OEM Hyundai coils right now, and have no idea what plugs I'm using. I ordered plugs when I got my ECU tuned, but have since needed it set back to stock (tune wasn't operating right) and the tuner has removed the listing for the tune so I can't even check.

@@johnyeschickjr I used to use the same plugs as the evo. But when my coils went bad I went back to the OEM plugs. I may get an Elantra n when the 2024 drops since this thing is showing it's age

Question I have a p2261 it says bypass valve, I changed the vacuum lines, the issue still going on. When I step on the gas and it reaches 6RPM the car stumbles and stop going, do you have any solutions for that.

Same code I had. I would think it would be your solenoid then, that's the part I replaced in this video. I'm not a mechanic though, so I can't tell you for sure. Here's the link the part I used personally torkmotorsports.net/collections/hyundai-veloster-turbo-2013-2017/products/bov-mac-solenoid

could be the solenoid, or could be the recirc valve. hard to tell without being there. I'd suggest taking the front bumper off and take off the recirc valve. the inside is made with a rubber diaphragm that's known for having issues (like mine that had at least 5 cracks). If thats the case, start by getting an aftermarket one made with a metal piston inside (I have Turbo Xs and it works well, full metal build).
