I remember umama u Noxolo Grootboom growing up at home with my family when I was a kid in primary school, we used to watch her on tv like many South Africans, reading the news. She used to say "Ndinithanda nonke emakhaya and my family would say "uthandwa sithi Noxolo." I am watching this crying. I am so happy to see her once again. Liqhawekazi especially when it comes kwi lwimi lesi Xhosa. Big ups to Newsroom for doing this interview.

I had a privilege of meeting umama uNoxolo in person back in 2003.She would come to the shop I was working from to do her shopping across East Rand Mall.When I got home I was so excited telling everyone I met her.What a warm personality. I was a bit reluctant to approach her at first. Having had bad experiences with younger celebrities. The first instead I braved and greeted her.We ended up talking for about 10 minutes or so.She was so kind.Hamba uyophumla mamfene uwenzile umsebenzi omhle ongenachaphaza.Ndikuthanda eyam irey.Big up to you Newsroom for honouring her while she is alive.

Ncoo, just looking at her I just had chills in my body. I remember her during the difficult time in our country when Mr. Chris Hani ( May His Soul Rest In Peace), the choral music that was played lively on TV and the lyrics that were relevant to the Country's lost. I just loved her then, I love her now, she did her work with passion. ❤️❤️
If you remember the funeral of Chris Hani in 1993 then you are old. You might as well relate to the young ones how it was like in the country in immediate aftermath.
