MASTERCLASS 2: How to Minimize Your Risks for Dementia Throughout the Lifespan, presented by board certified neuropsychologist Dr. Karen D. Sullivan, sponsored by the Reid Fellowship for Healthcare Transformation of The Foundation of FirstHealth.
In the last few decades, brain scientists have made strides in understanding the complex interplay between our genes and lifestyle choices in determining each person’s risk for developing dementia. Dr. Sullivan will review both risk factors and protective factors for dementia throughout the lifespan, including childhood, adulthood and older adulthood. The focus will be on what we can do today to reduce the likelihood that we will develop significant memory problems in the future. Remember, dementia is not a normal part of aging, and there are scientifically proven ways to reduce your risk at any age.

Excellent presentation. I have to comment on hearing loss and how little has been done to provide treatment for anyone in this country (USA). Most of my immediate family has profound hearing loss. However, the devices and treatment are very expensive and seldom covered by insurance until very recently. Hearing aids should not cost $5000, and they have a useful life of 3-5 years. Suffering a childhood of uncorrected hearing ends up impacting auditory processing. My mother, one brother, my daughter, and myself all suffered profound hearing loss.

I totally agree with you. Medicare/Medicaid should cover the whole person including EARS, EYES, AND TEETH!

Thank you for your channel. I really appreciate what you are doing to help us understand our brain health and what we can do ourselves to have healthy brain and body interaction.
Do you produce an actual paper workbook other than the PDF. I would like to purchase a workbook, but I prefer an actual book, if available.
    Thank you again.

At 65yo I have just learned I have the APOE4 gene & am travelling down the rabbit hole of discovery & prevention.
My mother has vascular dementia & my father has had several strokes. They lead insular & lonely lives by their own choice & I am determined not to do so myself.
I work a 40 hour week as a business coach, meeting with up to seven clients a day, problem solving & coaching them through challenges in their businesses. After listening to your lecture I have no intention of cutting back or retiring anytime soon 😊
Thank you for your thorough information, it’s so valuable to me to have access to your expertise 🙏🏻

In my workbook, page 55, I don't see Klonipin/Clonazepam listed. Can you please provide the ACB score for this one? Also, does it matter if a med is used every day vs PRN? Thanks Dr. Sullivan! On to #3.
