I actually bought him his first Lakland when he was 14...the red 55-01 he started putting the stickers on later.
He stands to make much more in signing with Fender than any other company.
It would've been nice if Lakland made the offer, but the original owner sold the company long before Dywane became known.
@@jackieclark8253 wow very cool! I’ve looked for a red 5501 with maple neck for so long very hard to find never could . I guess I’ve always just put him and that 5501 together , seemed like his go to ! The reason I got mine and still play it to this day. Yeah definitely right with making more with fender didn’t think about that

I agree, Mono is next level, but Im super glad its a Mexican made... keeps affordable. If it sells well I bet they go American custom though.
Hey! doggie my aka "FRIEND". I agree that it should be at a affordable price and that's just might be what fender is doing but it cells at sweet water for almost 1600 without taxes so why not give him at least the fender professional bass USA as his custom signature just my though on it YEAH!😎

cool dude - love the energy. I just bought one! I always thought the 'workmanship/quality' is the same (right?) and the differences are in some features and adornments. Since this bass has those special touches it seems that the difference is the price (and much appreciated). At least that is what is I am telling myself as I wait for the shipment date from Fender!
Go on reverb ships Immediately and negotiable. I accepted and offer on a Saturday afternoon an my item arrived Monday evening while I was locating tracking infor.

Okay…..If you make that bass a USA made production bass, the price of that instrument now becomes $2500-$2800. If it’s something from the Custom Shop, now it’s $3500 on up. If you followed the career of Mono Neon, he never has the reputation of playing expensive basses anyway.They were always import items for which he placed stickers and socks on them so no one would notice.

I agree with you but not when it come to his custom bass because he don't have to have a boutique custom bass, but they could at least made his bass a standard custom USA made Fender and set the price to attract the customers for under $2,000 like they do with the fender Professional basses. I follow him well for years and just because he play inexpensive basses don't mean that Fender should of built a Mexico fender. Now my 'Friend", I want you to know I Truly value your comment and wisdom .YEAH!😎
Hum interesting however the sticker and sock did not fool all of us I can recognize the head stock with 2 treble tuners and the music man like chrome tail piece on a lakland a mile away. Also note the 4 dots on any an all Sandberg ID head stock.I would necessary say these manufacturers are inexpensive manufacturers owing one EA. Trust that.!

The Sandberg and Spector basses weren't imports... Of course he doesn't care where the bass comes from, because he can play anything you put in his hands! 🙂
Tone comes from the hands.
If you are good enough you can make anything sound good.
What you say is right upgraded to American other than that it is the sweetest fender they have put out. He deserves to be America mononeon is American. Mine is made in Japan but I love it.

All is well on your comments, I do agree to a point.! I actually said the same thing prior to my purchase However let me ask you a question my Brother. Are you familiar with Getty Lee, im sure you are familiar with Victory Bailey, also Marcus Miller just to name a few
The reason why I ask is I have a collection of Artist series signature bases from fender myself and My Marcus Miller v shoreline Fender. Jazz is NOT MADE IN THE USA.. However the Victor Bailey's Are ! also the Getty Lee's are. Im Just saying I hear ya and fell ya
I think at this point Fender just may do a custom shop master build also different finishes, in the neon edition more money mo $$$ in closing I think my Fender dimension bass is very close in tone an versatility as the Mono.. Just saying.keep up the gd.work all is well.

Nice!!!!!! They went with Mexican models to help sell...keep in mind,he makes a percentage off the sales....The market he appeals to aren't gonna buy the higher priced U.S. models...at least not right now anyway.
The bass is well nade though...nothing about it says "cheap". Great bridge,tuners are solid,and the neck feels incredible.
Maybe later down the road,but for sales right now, a Mexican offering is the better business move overall.

I love them but I felt that at the price they are being sold at, its equal to some American made Fender model basses. The brother play any bass he chooses it sounds great Agreed, but when will our musicians start promoting USA. Made Instruments just a thought.🤔🤑🤫🙂
@@bassman51able …I totally understand,but if they make it here it’s gonna cost considerably more…that’s the main issue….keeping the overall cost down so more players will consider buying it.
They’ve already sold more than 600 units so far!
The main thing is to keep this model’s consistency,and not let the quality go down.
Sometimes companies will cut more corners to make a higher profit.
Dywane just has to stay on top of them about that,and this instrument will be a nice success story.
This is history in the making…even with it being a Mexican model.

@@kensmith368 Hey my doggie aka "FRIEND".Thank you for English, It feel ok, I think a maple neck or rosewood would of giving it a more snap and smooth tone.but remember he custom to his liking. the neck feel good, bass got just a little weight but not like its to heavy to hang on your shoulders. yes you can adjust the neck. I think it all deals with the type of strings you uses.Thanks for watching now HOLA one time YEAH!😎

@@bassman51able why be like Mononeon? Be more than Mononeon! I would have just liked more of a talk through of the bass itself. You told us the settings were how you like them but a little about what knobs control the tone etc would have helped. I’m interested in one of these but would like to see a proper demo that’s all.
