Does THINNING Carrots Really Matter???

- It's time to see what results we got from our carrot thinning experiment, we will find out just how much better the thinned carrots performed vs the non thinned carrots. I was pleasantly surprised that our non thinned carrots still were able to perform quite well given the circumstances! What it comes down to is that gardening is situational and nobody will ever grow the perfect garden. The most important part is we are out there growing and learning, even if its not "right" way to do it, you can still get great harvests without much labor.

We "curiosity thin" just have to take a peak by pulling up a couple every few days after the plumes are fluffy
I just love seeing children get excited about the garden harvest ❤❤
I’m in the process of growing my carrots right now for the first time and have decided not to thin them… fingers crossed! 🤞🏻😅
2:32. Go for raised beds they said... They stop kids from walking on the plants they said... 😂
I put in 3,000 seeds into around 2m2. The sizes I get back are fine. as long as you water them and give them feed, they dont seem to mind too much
Loved your video. I'm new to gardening but I am enjoying it.
Harvesting carrots from our 5 gallon buckets today in Indiana. We also did not thin them out, fingers crossed! 🥕 🥕 🥕
I would love an update.
Although we had plenty of carrots, they mostly were smaller than I'd hoped. We will be thinning in our 5 gallon buckets next time. 🥕 ☺️
@@ambercarr5273thanks for the update. My 4 year old is growing carrots for the first time and so far so have a lot of the carrots sprouting..wasn’t sure if I should thin it out for her or just leave it.
Nice! Part of me thought aggressive thinning was only useful for droughts, but lots of places say to thin anyways. Thanks for trying it out
Thanks for sharing your experiment. Love trying new things in the garden.
Looks like you had a successful harvest! Beautiful! 🥕
love your little man! its so great that you are teaching him and he is such a great helper! SO GLAD to have a confirmation that it is really ok that I don't have a lot of time for thinning. I grow plain old scarlet nantes, I sew them pretty sparse as I know during that time of year I always have a longer list then I have time for and I have always been happy with my harvest. But thanks for the experiment.
Yes
How long has it been there for
It all depends on how thick you sow the seed.
