Thank you so much! I was trying to find one that was already made, but they are nonexistent, so I decided to buy a solid wood, cheap play kitchen and convert it into an actual usable kitchen. I had looked at a retro theme and found some retro mini fridges, retro lockable microwave that requires adult assistance to use, a mini freezer, mini ice cube maker, a kids ice cream maker, and a camping sink that cycles water. I didn't even know where to begin with all this, how to put it together and make it look nice and flow with the kids play kitchen, and needed a cheaper way to do it (man, those camping portable sinks can be EXPENSIVE). This is such an awesome and helpful video! ❤❤❤

These are such excellent tips! Absolutely love the idea of separating and converting the top of the Ikea kitchen into a snack space!

He likes picking his own snacks. And now my daughter is starting to learn to wash her hands here too!

You could try 2 mason jars under the sink instead, one for waste water. It could be like the van life/camp kitchen sinks!

I've heard of parents doing that where they drill some holes in the plastic sink for water to drain into a dirty side. I just don't trust myself to do it properly. Also I think our plastic sink part is a bit weird shape so the water wouldn't drain properly on our kitchen.

I've been wanting to make this kitchen since u made it a while back so cool. Great tips! We have a mini fridge that my 3yo son loves too. He's obsessed w Blueberries and strawberries rn also yogurts look great in mini fridge too. Loving the little beauty on the wall behind u 💝

My son is also obsessed with blueberries and strawberries! I never knew how well a mini fridge works until I introduced it to my son.

What are your thoughts about adding compact electric appliances like a toaster oven or the mini rice/egg cookers and mini griddle presses? You could have them all hooked to dedicated outlet you can switch on and off so you can supervise when it's time to actually practice cooking, and the rest of the time they don't have access to the power they can use them as play. Maybe you could buy a little electric power station to plug everything into so when you put it away there's nothing to hook them up too. That way they would still work as toys.

Teaching young children to start using real cooking equipment is a great idea! If the outlet was hidden or in a hard to reach place for the child having and on/off switch would work in disabling the appliances. I've also seen those lock boxes that go around outlets, but not sure if an on/off switch would fit in one of those.

This is super cool Kevin! I’m trying to set this up for my son but he just keeps pulling apart the pump even when it’s hot glued. 😅 Any alternative suggestions to keep the pump in place?

Hmm glue adhesive is the easiest way but understandably not very stable for being pulled at. Only other things I can think of would require drilling holes or something to use screws? Maybe some kind of clamp.
