Came across this little gem, the Bogasing M4. While not perfect for the money I rate this quite highly. Here I push the Bogasing M4 to its limits against the much more expensive JBL Charge 5 portable bluetooth speaker the classic Anker Soundcore Motion Plus speaker. Best portable speaker for 2022?

Nice Review! Bogasing m4 seems to be a great speaker for great price. Bogasing m5 has also recently been released. Hopefully you find the speaker interesting and will check it out as well & maybe doing a review on it. Seems to be a nice little speaker, as it is smaller than the previous one. Would be cool to see a comparison to see how it holds up to the old one.

Sir. May android is sbc codec and I'm planning to buy motion plus which is supporting aptx. if I can't access to aptx on a MotionPlus , how much would it affect the motion plus sq? like is it really that much of a different?

@@budfox3097 it's a good piece of crap to take with you at a BBQ in the wild or on hikes without caring too much what happens to it,I mean it's not entirely useless and sure is better than to lose a jbl clip 4 or something like that.

@@alanrossreviews The bass indeed have some weird resonance when pushed and the voice / default aren't for me, too bright, too little mids. Super bass aka "balanced" does sound quite good for the price, but still a bit too bright. Speakers with that kind of bass don't need any peaks past 8khz I think. However you should compare it to the Soundcore Boost and Maxsound plus, not Motion+ and Charge 5 !

Hey Alan. In my local Quality save... Or was it the Iceland supermarket... Anyway, i.. oh wait, it was Home Bargains, there is a Daewoo Bluetooth speaker. The other shops do have shall we say less well known branded speakers too. Maybe you could look into these? They certainly look quite good! 😝 Oh, yeah this speaker sounds good with super bass eq 👍

Hey ! Does someone having 2 Ankor motion + might find a need for a JBL charges 5 ? Or do 2 ankor motion + render the JBL charges 5 useless ? (Or maybe at low volume, the best experience remain JBL charges 5, and once volume is up, goes towards 2 Ankor motion + ?)? Thanks a lot king.
two motion plus will pee on the charge 5. the charge 5 is best lowish volume and as a throwabout travel speaker imho

Can someone tell me after 1 year how is this bt speaker is?
Great review. I have the Bogasing M4 and for some reason each time I turn it on and connect and then play music the volume is super loud. I can’t get the volume to turn down until I start playing music and then eventually it will respond and lower, though it takes some time. It’s quite jarring. Does this happen to anyone else? The lowest volume is still quite loud as well and if I try to turn it down it just stops producing sound. Frustrating.

@@alanrossreviews thank you :) it apparently seems like the marriage of boom and m+ i.e deep bass of boom and fidelity and soundstage of m+. its not as loud as any of both and only if it was battery powered. but its priced similar to m+ and mb.
If you leave it on super bass mode, next time turning it on will go to default mode again ...? can't it remember the last played setting ...?

I have soundcore motion plus but there is constant background noise when it is turned on, and it quit hearable especially in a room. Does other have such a problem and are the other brands speakers have the same issue ?

Nice budget discovery but with that said I’m going to save my pennies for when the updated/upgraded Tribit MaxSound Plus comes out, whenever that happens 😒

Considering Tribit has one of the best sounding low price speaker in the Tribit Go and an excellent, well-balanced (no EQ needed), mid-level priced speaker in MaxSound Plus, why wouldn’t you have confidence in their next speaker? I realize their 360 degree speakers aren’t great, but the others in this “bullet” form factor are amazing.
Does Boga sing? 🤔 It does seem to offer incredible value for the price. My only gripe would be the mode juggling if it doesn't save the last setting. Looking forward to your soundcore boost/maxsound plus comparison. As always, thanks for another outstanding review, Alan! 😁👍👏

The review is spot on. It's another copy of "Tronsmart Element Force". I don't mean anything bad by that cause it doesn't sound bad. Cool thing is they act as USB Speaker too.

It just got a new name : Bogacannotsing M4 Tweeter. Especially in default mode. I would save up a wee bit more and go for Soundcores.

@@alanrossreviews as I see it, the motion boom is just slightly larger and sounds way better than M4. I mean for a little more, why not ? Unless there is a specific size you are after and really constrained to 50 quids, the motion boom is a no brainer. Lol!
The boom is wayyyyyyy bigger, this sits between the c5 and boost in size

Motion plus's a bass monster at max volm. But why not at lower volumes😭😭
well it just has more power to spare, so of course thats when you will hear the biggest difference.
Alan , I’m not working for any speaker company, but I do own the damson Vulcan… it’s still made… it’s a great sounding speaker.. it’s got deep bass… it’s not waterproof and it’s volume doesn’t sink with the sending volume of your devise. But, if you turn up the volume on the speaker and then set the volume on your devise… you’ll be pleasantly surprised.. a diamond in the ruff. Flossy Carter featured this speaker in a video and liked it , even though he’s not an audiophile like yourself and oluv . If you decide to check it out just place it on a rubber o ring or pad… or it’ll rumble itself off the table. Alan drop me comment on it , if you try it……I’m not asking for a video, just if you try it on your own….Thx

You are much more technical then Flossy though… you did make the motion plus sound on the muddy side too… your original eq settings were quite pleasant. The Damson is a great speaker for its $36 price tag though… it just needs a extra rubber platform so it doesn’t walk on you.

hum, thats a touch one, depends on the volume you play, m4 gives more oomph, Maxsound gives more finesse

Super bass eq mode is good enough (better than Motion +, max sound level is not important) but default eq mode bothers me a bit and more scratchy, also distorted in higher volumes...

Oh yeah above 50% default is an assault on the ear drums but for the money i cant knock the speaker

Or is the bogasing M4 a jbl charge 5 killer? 🤪 Mr Alan Bogasing M4 surprised me a lot it looks like tronsmart but really as it says on the box "Bogasing m4 is zero distortion!" It gives really clean sound and ideal bass, of course at 75% volume
Well default mode isnt too clean when pushed but its not a deal breaker

absolutely, a soundwise interesting speaker althougt I wouldn´t EVER buy a speaker in 2021 where the volume control is not fully synchronized with your device. That was the reason for not buying Denon Envaya 250 and that was back in 2018. There are so many alternatives out there today. But looking forward to your coming comparison with Anker Boost
revisited the sync issue was due to me having abs9ol;ute volume disabled, sorted now. i wish i knew what i was doing 😜

Great review. I’m a cellist, musician, pretty good ear. I prefer the bugasing over all. Clearer, crisper, brighter.
It has distortion issues but that allows it to give a bit more bass which is a reasonable trade off for me.

Not too bad of a speaker. Sounds like the bass is pushed slightly too hard, causing minor distortion. Treble seems a bit too sharp as well. But not too bad. I feel like it would be better compared to say the SC Boost or Tribit MaxSound Plus. Seems a little pricey for what it is as well.
well, i would say decent value for the money from what ive heard. default at lower volumes, then switch to super bass then back to default when you need that extra bit of volume. but yeah obvious distortion in default mode.
I just observe your motion+ eq setting is a bit muddy.
so dont use it 😝 its not compulsory 😁

I have two settings, the latest setting is to favour bass as im so used to the boom. So yes will sound a bit muddy at lower volumes compared to oluvs.

The "3d" mode is terrible, it's insanely shrill and distorted! In the "super bass" mode though, it really holds it's own. The Charge 5 is still my favourite speaker here by a long shot, but for the price, the Bogaggaggagagaggssasasasasa-somethingorother is really impressive and excellent value.
Now, given, i basically always play my Change 5 below 50% volume, which is where i think that speaker excels anyway. The Motion+ really outdid everyone at these higher volumes, except for bass, where i think the Charge still edges it out. It's a shame the Charge is such poor value at it's completely bonkers price.

@@alanrossreviews I think if the charge was dropped to 80 or even 100 quid it would fare a lot better. The speaker does bring a lot of good to the table compared to it's predecessors and has a pleasant sound. That said- if i wasn't able to get it as cheap as i have i would have gone for something else. The value for money is embarrassingly poor.
One think I didnt understand, You wrote in spec m4 has 1 passive, but this is tronsmart force body and it has 2 passive radiators. ua-cam.com/video/oUvpo1WyV-k/v-deo.html I see shadow showing this passive radiator
you mean the element force? they are not the same body, just look very similar. the shadow you see on the m4 at the front is a metal piece made to look like a passive radiator, but it isnt.

My friend has that bogasing speaker and I have the motion+. My soeaker has better bass and much better battery. His speaker barely last 4 hours at 70% volume.
