    Leather is skin. Leather care is much like skin care, and without proper maintenance, leather can fade, dry, discolor, crack, and peel.
    Chemical Guys Extreme Leather Cleaner is tough on dirt, stains, oils, and grease, but gentle on leather interiors. Extreme Leather Cleaner is pH balanced, stain free, odor free, and safe for use on all colored leathers. Simply spray Extreme Leather Cleaner onto a microfiber towel or brush, scrub away contaminants and oils, then buff off residue with a clean microfiber towel.
    Cleaning leather removes dirt and oils from the surface and pores of the hide. The leather must then be moisturized to restore the soft smooth feel, and protect against future stains and spots. Use Chemical Guys Leather Conditioner to nourish, restore, and protect leather seats and upholstery. Leather Conditioner rejuvenates natural leather scent and supple feel, repels stains with stain-blocking technology, and blocks UV rays to help leather look better for longer.

    Hi iv'e worked in 3 different countries and have completed over 40000 repairs & leather cleans, to the comments below yes a Cleaner must be Ph Balanced, Makedeth Leather is NOT covered in a synthetic top coat only Bicast & Bonded leather is which isn't real leather, top coats on Leather are either Solvent based or Water Based top coats. Leather if taken care of needs to be cleaned every 6 months on average and not only does a conditioner make the leather feel much better also makes it much easier to clean the next time round. Using product like the video above will also make the leather last a lot longer up to 3 times better life. There are my thoughts Happy New Year from New Zealand Great Video Chemical Guys thought that was a great Video.

    This factory coating on the leather Greg talks about. I've never understood how the lotion can penetrate that and reach the pores of the leather itself. An explanation of that would be nice.

    • @vidarg75
      @vidarg75 8 років тому

      So the serum can penetrate the factory coating? That's what you're saying?

      Ok. I use Swissvax' leather care products anyway. I used to subscribe to this channel for the entertainment and laughs.

      I don't live in the US, so when I buy Swissvax, it hasn't been shipped across the ocean, and therefore is probably cheaper. And, I don't buy at retail price. You're right about mixing brands.

      Exactly. The seats have a plastic coating. It CAN’T be penetrated!!

    Wouldn't it make 7 bottles of cleaner if it dilutes 6:1? 6 16oz bottles of water + 1 16oz bottle of leather cleaner = 7 bottles of RTU product?

    • @LJRossPhoto
      @LJRossPhoto 9 років тому

      I don't think you use six 16oz bottles of water. I know it's a little confusing. 6:1 = 7 Parts Total... You use 6 of 7 parts water; 1 of 7 parts leather cleaner. So you're not using the entire bottle of water. You're using 6/7ths of it.

    • @symawd
      @symawd 9 років тому

      LJRossPhoto What you said works out to be the same as what I said. A true 6:1 dilution would make 7 RTU bottles of leather cleaner. What I was getting at is the real dilution 5:1 or was Greg incorrect?

    • @LJRossPhoto
      @LJRossPhoto 9 років тому

      symawd Yeah, I guess you are right. If the dilution ratio is 1:1 it would make 2 bottles, and 2:1 would make 3 bottles. So you add the 1 to the other number. I learned something today! Haha always go by what it says on the bottle, or in this case what everyone on the internet is saying. The difference between 5:1 and 6:1 isn't substantial to begin with. :P

    I dont really believe in muisturizing leather. Most automotive leather (if not all), is coated with synthetic sealant from the factory. How are you going to moisturize it through that? And, everyone keeps talking about ph balanced and ph neutral. What do these even mean? Its just a saying thrown around by detail product makers. In my opinion, at least.

    • @ravenoftheredsky
      @ravenoftheredsky 9 років тому

      Let's say you're caring for your face. Would you want to continually use an acidic product every day? Probably not, it would dry you out.
      This is the idea. A neutral acid level will be good at cleaning, but not excessively active to the point that it may damage the surface.

    • @Makedeth
      @Makedeth 9 років тому

      Kaelin Curtsinger Good point, but my face doesn't have a synthetic sealant on it :D (the difference to car leather and my skin)

    Great video! Terrible name for ur company man! Who does your marketing? The word chemical does not have a “good” connotation to it. Just my two cents after doing this work for a long time!
