I don't know much about Pikmin speedrunning, but I like how the challenge of collecting every ship part isn't enough of a challenge. You would have to raise your own 100 piks in the same day, too.
Their cycle of being on/off freezes when they're offscreen and continues when a part approaches them. So, I took the geysers offscreen at the appropriate times to align their cycle with parts passing over them.
i assume that because it's onionless, he needs to run out of blues so that one will sprout the next day, so that he'll not need to access the onion to get pikmin
If there are any pikmin in the blue onion, it won't sprout a pikmin the following day. Therefore, in order to ensure you have 1 pikmin at the beginning of distant spring (since you can't pull from the onion) you must remove all your blues without killing them (in this case turning them into reds/yellows).
I never thought of this idea.
It's amazing!

Awesome! I was surprised at the mean of killing bugs.
don't know much about pikmin 1 speedruns or TAS's but i love ur vids.
Bro really just did everything and then left 2 blues in the onion so he could get rid of every single other one
That's so CLEVER
It's crazy that you didn't end up blowing up the nine-bomb wall; I'd have imagined that to be absolutely necessary.
What's the point of building the bridge to that one cog part if you're just going to put yellows on it later?
Originally I was going to use the bridge until I found out that the gear wouldn't make it back in time (pikmin move slowly across the bridge).
Do fire geysers not go off if they’re offscreen? How did you get the parts through them with yellows and blues?

wow that’s amazingly intricate. You do awesome stuff here; I love seeing the beauty of this game being executed so perfectly.
I’m confused why you turned most of your blues into reds and yellows at the end of the day.
