"Such a monumental achievement surely must come from an enlightened race that was in harmony with its people, free of conflict and strife." - Liara, before meeting Javik
Hearing Liara's voice puts a smile on my face, though it does raise the question as to wondering if she is still alive at this point in Mass Effect Andromeda. In Mass Effect 3, she was 109 years old and given that Andromeda takes place 700 years later Liara T'Soni is in the Matriarch stage (provided that Bioware decided to keep her alive).
NakedSnake1836 600 yrs later. She's still alive since no one will cause trouble for at least 200yrs. That does leave me wondering if Shepherd'a fate will be told. I'm still in tears about it because I love both Liara and Tali. 😢
NakedSnake1836 Those are messages from before Liara met Shepard, and basically the people of Andromoda dont know about the fact they got their asses saved from the Reapers.
According to a viewer who actually talked w/Ali Hillis (the voice actress of Liara T'Soni), Hillis herself confirmed Liara's still alive only she's now in the Matriarch stage.
Based on the the way Liara is talking in the recording it appears that the conversation happened pre Mass Effect 1. She stopped talking like that in Mass Effect 2.
Yeah, she says in the video that she's recording this in 2182(around 2:00 if you want to hear it) and the first game happens in 2183, the second in 2185, and the third in 2186. So that means it was a year before she met Shepard.
It's funny how she talks about the Protheans in her recordings, especially that 'enlightened race that was in harmony with it's people, free of conflict and strife'. One Javik later...
lucky of them. we had to play and love the game despite of this facts just because ME1 was (and is) one of the few sci-fi rpg games that doesn't suck. When all rpg were magic and all, this action game with rpg elements made things interesting
That right there is why I'm bummed out about the series. I saw this and I was like yeah! But then I remembered the rest were more than likely gone, and I'm like Awww. Still though I am looking forward to this game, and seeing space again.
Liara, Grunt and Wrex are still alive in Andromeda if they survive the Reaper Wars. Liara was a 106 years old in ME3 and the asari live 1000 years. Grunt is a young krogan and Wrex say in Citadel he has a 700 years old krogan and that race live more of a 1000 years.
alex derek The problem isn't what's in the video the problem is the fact that not everyone knew that she was going to have some sort of cameo in the first place since not everyone clearly has early access features of the game right now, now it's a small thing that doesn't warrant getting so pissed off at, but at the same time I can understand people wanting to find this on their own when the game releases.
Excuse me but not having early acces justifies nothing. Did they REALLY thought there will be no cameos of other characters in this game? Are they that "naive"? If so then they should probably avoid browsing the internet to avoid any kind of information. There is no spoiler here, only confirming what was obvious since the game was annouced.
I wish we could hear the "I did just write your name in the stars" article she wrote about Shepard in Mass Effect 3. What an Easter egg that would have been
It's weird to think that while pretty much the rest of cast is dead by then, liara is probably still alive by the time of andromeda, hell she'd have about 400 worth of living left
Saddest part is that she is potentially the only one of the original team still alive by the 2800s. Maybe Grunt too, but he was tank-bred so he is probably very old by this point. 😢
If my memory serves, the year 2182 is around Mass Effect 1. So Liara is still who she was before all the events that happen. The Geth and Saren attack Eden Prime in 2183.
My wife, my beautiful wife.♥ I want to thank you, Fluffy. It's going to be long time before I can play this game. So, I am very happy I can live vicariously through these videos.
yeah. i also interviewed the other Mass Effect stars but some were rather discreet when talking about Andromeda but Ali was honest. i know in the Entertainment Industry anything within the company cannot be shared to the public due the NDA part of the contracts including mine for the studios i work for but Ali Hillis was rather honest but still gaved me a "yes" when i asked her about Liara
That must've been awesome. She was my preferred romance character for my Commander AJ Shepard since I tried romancing Ashley, Tali, Miranda, Jack, and even Samara yet I kept going back to her. I made sure to have the best ending w/Liara T'Soni and I had hoped that Bioware could've had the character of Mass Effect: Andromeda be a descendant of Commander Shepard and Dr. Liara T'Soni.
This is SO funny. Why is everyone complaining that this is a spoiler??? You know she's not going to be in the Andromeda games, what you see and hear in the video isn't even part of the story. It's just a little easter egg for all the Liara fans. If you clicked on this video with the OMG Liara's in Andromeda reaction. Congrats you just said and felt the exact same thing you where going to do anyway. You've lost NOTHING. just be happy your going to get to hear her voice again, coz that's all it is.
Not going to lie, I saw Liara in the title and I could not click this fast enough xD Also if you subbed to fluffy you should kind of expect some spoilers by now in so vids. Im more curious who fluffy is going to romance first :P
She whas so naive and "young" in 2182. Stumbling and fighting across the galaxy with Shepard showed her the true history behind mass effect technology and the extinction of the Protheans. It's a good cameo.
The andromeda initiative launched in the same year sheperd was revived by Cerberus see if you can find any mention of sovereigns assault on the citadel or the destruction of the first Normandy
Godtaku She pauses a bit too long and abruptly between groups of words, making her delivery very fragmented and, as u say, robotic, as if each chunk of dialogue was recorded separately and then cut together as in automated systems. Tempo doesn't flow. Tho her voice itself sounds pretty similar to ME3 to me. Maybe Liara was nervous or all jittery about someone enquiring on her research? =P
It takes them just a little over 600 years to reach Andromeda. Andromeda Galaxy is about 2.37 million light years away. So, they were running FTL, obviously. Here's my question: Do ships in the Mass Effect universe experience time dilation? What theoretically happens to time if you go faster than light? Does it stop? Does it run backwards? Where my astrophysicists at?
"A small pocket of Prothean survivors" Maybe a small group of Protheans launched themselves into andromeda as well? I know that's probably not very likely, but it would be cool to see if they did. They clearly can make tech that can survive millennia, so it wouldn't be such a far cry to say that they made a vessel that could sustain them into a different galaxy? Idk it's cool to see that they did "include" an older character from past games.
Hooray!! Glad her work made it to Andromeda! It's nice to hear her voice again :) Now if only Samantha Traynor somehow manages to cameo... I won't get to play this for a few days, yet, but now I can look forward to interacting with my favorite asari scientist! I won't be clicking other Andromeda videos from you just yet, but I couldn't resist this one!!! :D Thanks for posting!
She mentions a date, which puts the recordings prior to Mass Effect 1, so she would have had the stilted speech she had in ME1, if not more so. She loosened up much over the other 2 games. I thought they did a good job approximating her speech for the time period.
With the benefit of hindsight, it's kinda nice to have a glimpse at the younger naive Liara. It really is amazing to see the shock that came when she found out the truth about Prothean Civilization from Javik
The feels, man. The feels. I was so happy to hear a familiar voice again. Especially the socially awkward ray of sunshine that is Liara T’soni. It hasn’t even been that long since I played the trilogy and I still miss all of those space dorks on the Normandy, so much.
Jacob Peters Theres a couple of them that could still be alive. Liara, for one, could still be alive, though shes a matriarch by now- she was only 109 in ME3 and they usually hit a thousand years. Idk how old Wrex was, but Krogan are supposed to be able to make it to 1,500 sometimes, so he could be alive. Grunt is probably still kicking too.
Wait a second... Mass Effect Andromeda is set on the Andromeda galaxy?! Wtf fluffy I've waited so long and you spoiled me even tho I willingly clicked on the video!. smh unsubbed, disliked, flagged and reported to both PETA and the FBI
Tosco You do realize that by being subscribed to Fluffy, there is no way to avoid seeing videos with spoilers in the thumbnail/ title without unsubcribing to her, right? Someone does not need to watch the video to get this cameo spoiled for them. Simply seeing the thumbnail in their subscriptions newsfeed does the trick. I didn't even go on UA-cam today to watch these type of videos. I came to listen to a music playlist and this popped up. It was unavoidable and the cameo was spoiled for me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Doesn't' matter if I expected Liara to be in this game or not. The element of surprise has been taken away either way. Hence it being a spoiler. She could have easily uploaded this video with the thumbnail as a silhouette figure with a question mark and the title saying "Mass Effect: Andromeda, Cameo of Character From Previous Trilogy". If someone were to click on a video like that after seeing that title, then it would be inexcusable for them to complain about spoilers.
+THtive 55 some people don't understand sarcasm 😁. Sarcasm entails couple of things: one of them is intellect, another is sense of humor. There are people without a sense of humor. Also, sarcasm expects that a person on the receiving end of it is intellectually agile and well-rounded. 🤔
If you attribute the construction to its true builders, then... "The Reapers constructed the Citadel and an incredible network of mass effect relays. This speaks to a culture of the highest order. Such a monumental achievement surely must come from an enlightened race that was in harmony with its people free of conflict and strife." becomes true! After all you don't see the Reapers taking potshots at _each other._
These people have absolutely no idea about the Reapers, Collectors, or the revelations on the Protheans yet when they finally arrive in Andromeda 600 years have passed after the end of the Reaper War. I really hope in that time the races back home have developed some kind of way to at least communicate to the Initiative, or even built themselves an even faster mode of transportation so then the second wave can arrive and go "You have NO IDEA what you guys missed after you left."
I don't really follow Mass Effect, but it is awesome to see you again Fluffy! I started to lose hope that you were gone, but then I saw the first few uploads in over 4 months. Can't wait to see more! :-)
-Even at the time of this writing - the year 2182... -Sorry, what exactly happened 2182 years ago? -Oh you know humans? Yeah, the speciest that became space-faring less than a century ago. Yeah, so 2182 years ago their messiah was born and I think that's pretty neat.
Ah, so that's how Liara's a cameo. Makes sense. Shame she couldn't be along here, she'd be a lot older now, but I'd think it would still be interesting having her around. Aw well.
I miss my wife 😭 I hope she and Shep had all those little blue children after the war. Honestly I miss the ME universe so much and this game is bringing back so much nostalgia
How ironic, she spoke of not having preconceptions color her analysis, but ended up doing so anyway with the Protheans who we later see to be a rather militant people that subjugated many.
Yes, this is such a spoiler, because we had no idea that Liara was a character that existed. -_- And if you'd even watched much of the promotional material for Andromeda, you'd know of this cameo already. Jeez.
This sounds more like a teaser inside the game that is given by a well known person from the old triology. Because why would a people like the Protheans not have already went to the Andromeda Galaxy millions of years ago? It would not surprise me if they suddenly come up in the game.
Oh and, by the way, this is not even the first time. You did the exact same thing with Cullen and the Inquisitor's wedding in Tresspaser! And in case you are wondering, you spoiled that for me too
catcharide56 they leave some time during the events of 2. so the genophage hadn't been cured yet, though they come up with a reason has to how krogan can repopulate in Andromeda.
lol, I've been selective on what I've watched (like game play videos and etc) but I don't understand what's been spoiled... Is is the fact Liara isn't there? They already said no past cast was going to make an appearance. Can someone explain what was spoiled? or are these people just being sarcastic?
Fluffy, can you find more cameos of our classic Mass Effecf characters?? And don't bother with those guys unsubscribing because of the "spoilers". I do love spoilers, specially your spoilers 😆😆😆😆 I will die if you find a cameo of Femshep 😎😎😎. "Keep us posted. Hacket out"
Shepard also knew about the arks, wishing them good luck in the N7 day trailer. It took place between ME2 and ME3, probably when Shepard was in lockdown for the impending trial for working with Cerberus and blowing up a mass relay.
Doubtful, Liara has been *voted* to be the second best character of the entiere Mass Effect universe, Garrus being first, and she is considered the face of Mass Effect. So no, Liara fans got way more. Even most Tali fans probably ended up with her in ME1 then cheated on her in ME2. Tali deserve someone better than that, like Garrus.
This is like a failing spinoff casting a mildly known-spiraling down celebrity to "star" in the pilot episode to try to legitimiza it, but fails miserably.
no and there won't be......Andromeda is 600 light years away from the Milky Way so even though the events here technically take place at the same time as ME2 and ME3, by Andromeda standards Shepard has been dead for a long time. By the time he/she traveled to Andromeda (unless using Cyro sleep) she/he would die. Not only that, but Shepard has no place in this story, it's all about Ryder
a prerecorded message can be present. liara's recordings here are probably before ME1 era anyway if you hear the way she talks in a nerdy way. she became mature and darker in following games.
True, I ❤️ Tali 4ever! The ending sucks cuz the story of Shepherd is only a legend means all the shit I went through is a damn story.
No, she is dead, like all the milky way galaxy races, the reapers reaped them 😛
According to a viewer who actually talked w/Ali Hillis (the voice actress of Liara T'Soni), Hillis herself confirmed Liara's still alive only she's now in the Matriarch stage.
Based on the the way Liara is talking in the recording it appears that the conversation happened pre Mass Effect 1. She stopped talking like that in Mass Effect 2.
The launch happened around ME2 but you can expect that getting everyone together for it would take years.
Yeah, she says in the video that she's recording this in 2182(around 2:00 if you want to hear it) and the first game happens in 2183, the second in 2185, and the third in 2186. So that means it was a year before she met Shepard.
Oh, and they left for Andromeda in between ME2 and ME3, when Shepard was being held on Earth. Or that's what I heard, at least.
She didn't sound like a robot in Mass Effect 1
@@whodatninja439 trust me, she did
You know what I miss from Mass Effect 1: post-mission debriefings with your crew.
I miss that to
And with the councilman, choosing the renegade choices on the councilman
Debriefing, then hanging up on the council. Good times...
Liara! What are you doing here?WAIT SHEPARD.
HELLO?
Anybody hear me? Is this the future?
We'll bang, okay?
It's funny how she talks about the Protheans in her recordings, especially that 'enlightened race that was in harmony with it's people, free of conflict and strife'.
One Javik later...
it's easy to be free of conflict and strife, you just throw it out the airlock

baby fetus players.
I love how Liara says that you can't let bias and preconceptions color the evidence, then does exactly that.
Shepards message to Andromeda.
"Hello! Can anyone hear me? Is this the future? We'll bang, okay?"
Reminder that by the time you wake up from cryostasis every human, turian and quarian companion from the original trilogy is dead.
That right there is why I'm bummed out about the series. I saw this and I was like yeah! But then I remembered the rest were more than likely gone, and I'm like Awww. Still though I am looking forward to this game, and seeing space again.

Ah no Liara is probably stil alive because Asari live 1 million years
1 Million? 1 Thousand.
Arthas Nerzhul 1400 years is a bit of a stretch for krogan life expectancy.
My wife...my wife from another life.
Spoiler or not, I'm tearing up just hearing her voice again.
Mass Effect Andromeda - Liara T'Soni "Cameo"
What did people expect when they clicked this?
;0
alex derek The problem isn't what's in the video the problem is the fact that not everyone knew that she was going to have some sort of cameo in the first place since not everyone clearly has early access features of the game right now, now it's a small thing that doesn't warrant getting so pissed off at, but at the same time I can understand people wanting to find this on their own when the game releases.

If you dont want spoilers to an extremely popular and highly marketed game, keep off the internet.
dont watch mah guy
alex derek Was hoping it was a troll. And its kinda hard to get past it when it's a bold font in the video thumbnail XD.
I wish we could hear the "I did just write your name in the stars" article she wrote about Shepard in Mass Effect 3. What an Easter egg that would have been
Then we got Javik and that throw everything out the damn widow
You mean out the airlock, right? :P
You're wrong. Throw it out the Airlock!
Liara, stop sending messages to that old ass and report to the ship as soon as possible. Well bang ok.

glad to see Ali Hillis kept her word on being on Andromeda when i interviewed her last year at Comic Con
Wait, u actually talked to Ali Hillis herself? U talked to Liara T'Soni? I'm so jealous.
yeah. i also interviewed the other Mass Effect stars but some were rather discreet when talking about Andromeda but Ali was honest. i know in the Entertainment Industry anything within the company cannot be shared to the public due the NDA part of the contracts including mine for the studios i work for but Ali Hillis was rather honest but still gaved me a "yes" when i asked her about Liara

this legit made me smile heh. always nice to have some sort of attachment to the previous games
This really caught me by surprise. Was very pleased.
I missed hearing her voice damn
Fluffy Has Returned, All Is Right In The World Again
How is this spoilers exactly?
So there are some voice logs in the games about the Protheans. Big deal.

oh my, you are fast!! I love it ajajjaja keep the good work, showing my support.

Why does she sound so robotic?
I think she wants to fit in with the other performances. A bit embarrassing if an audio recording upstages the entire Uncanny Valley gallery.
Godtaku she's always sounded like that
It's obviously the voice acting director. They go through several takes and select one. This was... the one they went with...

I just wish we could see her and femShepard alive with some blue babies....

is it me or liara's voice sounds...kinda robotic..
Sarcasm Liara sounded like this in the previous games so consistency
well, she kinda sound like ME 1. which kinda make sense for the storyline.
She's a nerd, and when talking about work they sound like that.
yeah kinda, but i guess she sounded like that in her pre-Shadow broker state, so could make sense.
She mentions a date, which puts the recordings prior to Mass Effect 1, so she would have had the stilted speech she had in ME1, if not more so. She loosened up much over the other 2 games. I thought they did a good job approximating her speech for the time period.
Oh my god you aren't dead
of course she isn't.......Asari have drastically lengthened life spans. They can live to be 1000 or older.....Liara by now would only be in her 700s
Mizudayo the hell are you talking about I'm saying fluffy was inactive for several months so I thought she was dead
You two gave me life., xD

Ah, so that's how Liara's a cameo. Makes sense. Shame she couldn't be along here, she'd be a lot older now, but I'd think it would still be interesting having her around. Aw well.
ImmortalDragonLord they left for andromeda between the events of mass effect 2 and 3 so she couldn't be there
I know, I'm familiar with what happened, I'm just saying it would've been neat, if it were possible.
I miss my wife 😭 I hope she and Shep had all those little blue children after the war. Honestly I miss the ME universe so much and this game is bringing back so much nostalgia
How ironic, she spoke of not having preconceptions color her analysis, but ended up doing so anyway with the Protheans who we later see to be a rather militant people that subjugated many.
when were these logs from I thought she found that the citadel and me relays were reaper tech?
Liara was really tempting fate the last few sentences...
Now we need Tali's VI in Andromeda.
In 2182 Liara won't meet Shepard for another year...meaning she doesn't know about the Reapers, or Javik, or the Shadow Broker
Yes, this is such a spoiler, because we had no idea that Liara was a character that existed. -_-
And if you'd even watched much of the promotional material for Andromeda, you'd know of this cameo already. Jeez.
This sounds more like a teaser inside the game that is given by a well known person from the old triology. Because why would a people like the Protheans not have already went to the Andromeda Galaxy millions of years ago? It would not surprise me if they suddenly come up in the game.
There is actually still one more message from Liara T'Soni in the Encrypted Message.
bah gawd a cameo omg finally
Oh and, by the way, this is not even the first time. You did the exact same thing with Cullen and the Inquisitor's wedding in Tresspaser! And in case you are wondering, you spoiled that for me too
Can't wait for your romance video I started rewatching them I hope you get to do it really soon
Aww Liara, how little you knew about them.
Man, just think. These notes were made before ME3 and before meeting Javik.
wonder if they rendered her in game if they would have boat kicked her in the face like they did with the rest of the models.
Javik: Bitch Please.
Do they leave for Andromeda before or after ME3?
Before
catcharide56 they leave some time during the events of 2. so the genophage hadn't been cured yet, though they come up with a reason has to how krogan can repopulate in Andromeda.
Before....this is before Liara probably even became Shadow Broker, found out the Reapers made the mass relays, and Javik....
they leave few years before beginnig of me2
The massages are from three years before, so closer to shepard's death than pre-invasion.
lol, I've been selective on what I've watched (like game play videos and etc) but I don't understand what's been spoiled... Is is the fact Liara isn't there? They already said no past cast was going to make an appearance. Can someone explain what was spoiled? or are these people just being sarcastic?
I though we will going to meet living Liara!
Hacket out"
hmmm are those recording before or after ME3 and is Javik not cannon?
Attis Rebirth The Andromeda Initiative launched the Arks before the events of ME3.
thank you :)
I clicked FTL the moment I read "Liara Cameo" my baby blue... :P
Hold on this all seems to be happening before the original mass effect series.
Mordin and Garrus kinda have small cameos in the codex too.
You missed one. The message in the final memory.
Studying a living example, could that be a shout out to Javik?
Cool spoiler, bro!
Okay hold up, Liara FUCKING KNEW ABOUT THE ARKS!? Why'd they never tell me? :I
Shepard also knew about the arks, wishing them good luck in the N7 day trailer. It took place between ME2 and ME3, probably when Shepard was in lockdown for the impending trial for working with Cerberus and blowing up a mass relay.
Liara will always be Shepard's number 1 girl next to Talia
Pretty sure the Tali fans have the Liara fans beat when it comes to the numbers
Tali not Talia lol.
Tali deserve someone better than that, like Garrus.
no it doesn't dumbass. liara is no 1
This is like a failing spinoff casting a mildly known-spiraling down celebrity to "star" in the pilot episode to try to legitimiza it, but fails miserably.
fluffy I'm so glad your back, but please hold off on these spoilers. Most people still don't have the game yet because EA is dumb.
It's just audio files though.. Nothing to do with MEA story at all
Is there a shepard cameo?
no and there won't be......Andromeda is 600 light years away from the Milky Way so even though the events here technically take place at the same time as ME2 and ME3, by Andromeda standards Shepard has been dead for a long time. By the time he/she traveled to Andromeda (unless using Cyro sleep) she/he would die. Not only that, but Shepard has no place in this story, it's all about Ryder
a prerecorded message can be present. liara's recordings here are probably before ME1 era anyway if you hear the way she talks in a nerdy way. she became mature and darker in following games.
yeah we know, I didn't mean a physical cameo I meant like a recording or something.
The closest thing we get is the N7 day trailer when Shepard wishes all of the Adromeda Initiative good luck.
2182.. so before Mass Effect 1? Wow.
Called it 2 years ago
I wonder How Liara is doing right now After The Reaper War is over
