A centuries old Islamic cult, originating in central Asia, is undergoing a revival as more and more Westerners join.
They are attracted by the cult's mysticism, but also by its charismatic leader.
Hundreds of people from all over the world come to visit him at his home in North Cyprus. APTV has this special report.
Wearing their turbans and traditional Islamic clothes as they walk through the small town of Lefke, these men don't look like Westerners, but they are.

They are members of a Sufi order, called the Naqshabandies.
They dress and worship in the same manner that Naqshabandies have done since the order was founded in the days of the Prophet Mohamed 14 centuries ago.
In the last few years, it has attracted more and more Westerners, many drawn by the order's spiritual leader, Sheikh Nazim Haqqani.
He leads prayers, gives guidance, acts as a centre for the far-flung membership. And he thinks he knows why so many Westerners are coming to him, and to Islam.

Every week, Naqshabandies gather together and chant the name of God.
The sing-song repetition has a hypnotic power.
This free-wheeling mysticism is for many the core of what attracted Andrew Young to Islam seven years ago.

If feel many in comments don't understand what is meant by 'cult'. Is simply means a relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange. Although in many western contexts is used in a derogatory way, in describing sufi tariqat it is simply being factual.
Naqshabandi is a strict sufi path. Not a cult. I personally find it wonderful to be part of it.

ZR It’s good but have to be careful no innovation is added. Any Muslim shouldn’t be calling them self Sunni Shia or Sufi. When people add beliefs angle create sects that’s when it becomes a problem. Example Shia don’t accept some of the Sahaba. Some Sunni think it’s ok to pray to saints and do dua to them who have passed away instead of directly to ALLAH Subanahu Wa Ta’Ala. some Sufis use toxins in Zikr . There are a lot more innovations. We have lost our way. Then there are those who claim a vile man who died was a prophet going against what our prophet taught and try to change the text of the Quran to mask their lies and propaganda.

Sister, one thing is to love the Prophet عليه صلاة و سلآم and another's to worship him. Obviously, I'm Muslim, thus, you can safely assume that love for the Prophet is part of my Aqeedah... However, I'm going to place a small challenge in front of you; show me a hadith (authenticated) which shows that the people would line up while the Prophet sat on a fluffy pillow and extending his hand, person after person would come by and kiss his blessed hands.
As a matter of fact, he عليه صلاة و سلآم would even object to people standing up for him whenever he entered a dwelling.
Also, this practice of worshipping the leaders in such way is something of the practice of the People of the Book; the same people we've been commanded not to emulate. And Allah knows best.

This is sufism, fake Islam. The Naqshabandi sufi order did not originate from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. There are many authentic hadith from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم that teach Muslims the zikr or remembrance of Allaah سبحنه وتعالى , but chanting "Allaah, Allaah" is not from them.
All legitimate Sufi tariqats including Naqshbandi trace their origins back to the holy and pure Prophet Muhammad e Mustafa (SAAWS) through a line of masters.

Geographically its hard for Greece to really make the claim that its their Island. Historically yes the greeks had the first civilisation there but the country has changed hands between several empires since then. I’d like to say it is a part of Greece and i do believe Greece has a legitimate claim but it seems to be a place that belongs to whoever can dominate the territory best. I doubt the Turks will ever give it up. Unless the Greeks defeat the Turks in war - then by all means its fair play.

May Allah destroy sufism distorted the picture of Islam with innovation and superstitions. Did the sehaba use to worship Allah like that? No why are you bringing new thing in to Islam? Islam is perfect completed religion. If you need Islam take it from Quran and sunnah understanding of the (salaf ) the pious predecessors.
& thats the problem with mainstream islam the hate filled people who follow it.
