- Long-delayed Ferguson ferry Glen Sannox begins sea trials.
Initially launched back in 2017 by then First Minister Nicola Sturgeon
the ship has been tethered at the quayside whilst the work was completed.
Powered by its own engines, for the first time, MV Glen Sannox makes a short journey down the River Clyde as it begins sea trials ahead of delivery this summer.
I had the pleasure of sailing with her predecessor in 1980, Wymess Bay to Rothsay, and return a week later. Hope the new ship serves as well as she did. 🙏🙏🇬🇧
I can not understand how this ship build can overrun so much - but well done to the team behind it
straight to troon and the end of Ardrossan as a ferry terminal
what an area of ourstanding beauty - and long awaited wee ship - God bless all who sail on her.
Is anyone running a book on how long before it's out of service with a breakdown?
Great capture Tom!
After all this time and still only running on diesel.
It's that old now so is that it heading up to the maritime museum?
LNG is not available in Scotland so why did cmal order a ship to run on it its industrial sabotage jim mccall had nay bother sounds to me like cmAL didn't know LPG and LNG are totally different in terms complexities perhaps a wee peat and diesel mix would ha been better
So that has taken £200 million and six years late,Icon of the seas 7000+ passengers,it took 900 days to build, enough said.
Is that the one that does run on LNG and was reported to be worse than conventional fuel in terms of emissions LNG fits a big ship not a ferry it was a poison challis bae will buy yard and inch green to fix the buckshee carriers
Is that real windows? Who'd have thought😮
Just about as bad as the Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood. What political party designed that?
