Amazing and inspiring!!! I've been studying Wushu for a year and it's very addicting and fun. Unfortunately it's not as hardcore in discipline as it would be in China. The instructors here in the US are too lax because they don't want to discourage or intimidate the students or their parents. The methods they teach in China are way more hardcore and bootcamp style. I'm still grateful that I'm learning it from a chinese instructor which makes it more authentic. Thank you for sharing the Video!!!
well guys, Im not an Martial artist, but what I Like Martial arts, First thing that I learned about martial art is that it aint about the fighting, Its about self decipline, self control, helping others, defending yourself and the weak, never heard of a master that its for hurting people or fighting.Oke in a martial art you have to fight in order to gain experience. And I think you cannot compare martial arts with each other, for every martial art is made at its own way, Salaam alykom
@MechPhantom from what i understand, modern shaolin incorporates contemporary wushu and traditional kung fu. monks in training are usually already proficient in sanda, as they are largely selected from warrior monk schools like this one.
That's crazy that these kinds of places are real..you normally only see these kinds of places in movies but to know that they actually exist is really interesting..
Wushu (Kung Fu) is the proper term for all the martial arts styles in China. It has been practiced in China for thousands of years.Wushu consists of tens of thousands of different External and Internal styles including both bare hands and weapons. Some of the well known external styles are Shaolinquan, Chaquan, Hongquan, Fanziquan and many others. The well known internal styles are Taichi, Bagua, Xingyi, and Water style.
This is Shaolin Xialong Wu Yuen school in Dengfeng, one of the three biggest Shaolin schools. The other two schools are Tagou and Epo Wushu school,ı am a student of Tagou.
when i was trying to deciding to join a school in Dengfeng,my girl friend who is a local people of Dengfeng said that every gong fu lover in china wants to be a student of Tagou because it has 20 000 students and 2000 gong fu teachers who are top quality.
come one, its not the country as a whole its the people! i am american and martial arts is my pride and passion. when i see people talking about "we train 5 am to 9 pm" i PRAY TO GOD that i could do that. I havfe the will to work as hard as i can in martial arts to be the best i can be. I am American, and its all thanks to my PARENTS that i am ABLE to WORK HARD!!!!!!!
Hi, I studies wushu in China for 5 years, Wushu basically mean martial arts, Shoalin is the same art as Wushu, but you have modern shaolin wushu and old style wushu. Hope this helps.
I don't know all the hundreds of types, but I do know two very well-known among them. Tai ji and ba gua. Both are very different from Shaolin martial arts, and both are considered to be two of the highest forms of Chinese Wushu.
I have been considering taking up Wu Shu but how useful is it really in self defense? The video shows you various forms that you would learn and practice as well as different aspects of the martial art but it doesn't show you quite how it could be "put into action". Is it good for self defense?
Not alot of people know that it means two different meanings. Technically Wushu means Kung Fu in the mainland langauge (Mandarin), however, Wushu today is now associated with fancy flips and gymnastic stunts. Kung Fu focuses more on real applicable self defence techniques (Or to kill/Maim)
Have you tried googling up for dojos in L.A.? If not, try it - you're bound to find something since there are a lot of opportunities in CA Wushu means (Chinese) Martial Arts so most places that teach karate will also teach wushu since they originated from the same place. Just don't be afraid to contact them! Ask all the questions you need answered :)
waoh u guys know alot about this, thats sooo kool i wish i knew about it that well sooo wat else do u kno, soo do u guys take training like these people or do u just kno about it very well^_^
jesus christ!! this vid is soo kwl marshall arts is amazing, my dad teaches me and my lil bro how to do marshall arts but i am not as good as this china dudes!!! amazing vid!!!!
I agree and respect everything you said. plain and simple cage fighting and fighting for your life are two very diffrent things, love the cage fighting though lol
i do wushu myself and have just been to china to train....the sickening part about this video is.....most of the people u see on here are still like BEGINNERS!! so amazing
i wanna go to a huge wushu school like this :C its like the real thing.in canada here i go to a taekwondo school and its small with about 150 students in all total...
@AssassinGhost cause its different..hand to hand combat skill which is learned in army has only one goal - to destroy enemy with speed and power....now lets look on the whushu - it looks more like gymnastics with all these flips and beautiful moves but it has no practical use...i can tell cause i learned it...
@jakeisawesome91 haha ok thx so much man, well elaborated ,i finally understand this . So this is the type of training(same training) that shaolin monks go through rite? thz agaiun
@MechPhantom weapons training is more of a traditional thing. i think even the sanda fighters undergo it. obviously you wouldn't bring a concealed weapon like that to a fight nowadays, but it is taught mostly for the sake of physical refinement. plus the wushu comps want to see that junk. this is wushu. there probably isn't too much of a point in having an exclusive shaolin sect if their kung fu is already taught at every MA school. i was just saying that wushu is part of shaolin training now.
Bruce Lee did weight training, but he did not do body building. You can use weights for training martial arts, but there is a difference between performance based strength training and body building. Notice how Bruce Lee was SUPER skinny yet strong. What he is saying is there is way more forces at work when it comes to martial arts than having big arms. Technique training is more important than weight training. There's WAY more to a fight than "tapping into your weight training skills"...
living in the US how would one even go about training on his/her own???? What would be good things to start doing? I feel like taking local classes wouldn't be the same I suppose.
Yes i do.. Wushu is Chinese for martial arts, which is basically Shaolin martial arts, Chinese don't really have many other Martial arts Apart from san da,Chinese Boxing, Do you study yourself, I think ill have to post some video promo's on here soon.lol
Wushu and kung fu are the same thing. Kung fu can mean absolutely any art that takes a long time to learn, while wushu means martial art. Wushu is the real term for martialarts, but it's more widely known nas kung fu.
Jing Wu is not a style like Shaolin or Wudang,it is a kung fu federation in China founded in 1910 by Huo Yuan jia. There is not a kung fu style called jing wu,jing wu federation teaches many different styles,it is a kind of kung fu organization.
those kids that are doing whushu in the video are good. whushu is for health and for protection. not just for a fight. and by the way whushu is kungfu cos in mandarin kungfu is pronounced whushu. good video!
Bruce lee did wing chun and other martial arts.hell he got so good that he creates his own.I think it was called jeet Kun do(repulsing the fist) idk if that's spelled right
I m taekwondo fighter, Want to learn wushu, but in my place there is no such wushu school, i just watch these videos n try to learn wushu, is there any one who can help me abt this...

it would be awesome n breathtaking to watch this fine art in person.
This stuff is sick. Kung fu is the complete package. For this reason, it is the most devastating art there is.
wow it is amazing what they do !!!
