really nice!! why not use lime wood airstones? I'm new to saltwater and have a 30 gallon fish only w/ live rock tank. I'll be building my skimmer this coming weekend. I'll be using lime wood airstone at the bottom, with water coming in on top and exiting at the bottom to maximize counter current flow and contact. I don't think using a wide tube is such a good idea in my case since I want as much air bubble/water contact as possible. thoughts?
This design doesn't seem to maximize contact between the water and the bubbles. It seems the standpipe should be on the input, not the output, that way you'd be forcing the water to rise with the bubbles before escaping.
hey is ok i make my own sumps out of acrylic and i make my own nano tanks to out of acrylic so far i've made 7 sumps for me and family members i have videos on youtube as a matter of fact i made a few skimmers but with stuff around the house but i really need the tube cause is a lot better but nice work on the skimmer bud lol

this skimmer is bad ass dude now question where do you get the tube cause i want to make my self some reactors for my tank nice work
