  • There are endless options when it comes to building a greenhouse or high tunnel. Depending on what you are growing or season you are growing in can change how you want your house to be set up. I have discussed most of the reasons for the options I chose and why I chose them. I will also be building 2 more tunnels this fall and will get complete footage of each step as it goes.

    A word to the wise, you should cover your propane regulators to keep rain and snow off of them. They will corrode quickly and you'll have to replace them.

    Hey great info on the video. I appreciate seeing your layout. One word of advice. If you have not done so already, a retaining wall may help to protect your greenhouses from snow pressure. Hope this helps.God bless!

    Grid foundation and fencing and under ground boiler and sound system and electrical power can negotiate wind, heat , cold , and density of ether

    With advance ether conttol by sound and thermo and air density we save materials because if correctly we need no roof but only fencing need so sunlight efficient and polarization and faster change geometrical electtodynamics

    Great video. Hope you still get comments and can respond. When you install the second layer of poly, do you wiggle wire over the first wiggle wire on the first poly, or do you remove it and only use one wire for both poly layers? Thanks for your videos.

    • @theproducefarmer8427
      @theproducefarmer8427  9 місяців тому

      Yes, you use separate wiggle wire for both layers. Put the first one in and then you put the second one right over top of it. I do have plans to put up one more small greenhouse this fall… This one I will post videos of the progress, and how I do each step.

    Thanks, very inspiring =) Im wondering how much one of those greenhouses cost to build? and is it possible to cool it down from 40-50 Celsius to 20-30 Celsius ?

    • @theproducefarmer8427
      @theproducefarmer8427  20 днів тому +1

      Without the heaters cost range from $15 K to $18 K. Heaters are going to be about $3K by themselves keeping in mind you can only cool it down to the temperature that is outside, but you can get roof vents, which will allow you to cool it down, the way you’re mentioning. The downside is roof cost about $10 K as an addition. These are very nice and I would like to do them in the future, but because of the cost, it won’t happen for a while for me.

    • @T84948

      @@theproducefarmer8427 ok thanks for answering. Ok so you mean that around 28k with the cooling vents? Do you recommend solar for that? Some months it can get up to 40c so I really need to cool it down to at least 25c but don't know how much solar and vents I would need for that in one of your greenhouses?

      I think maybe a greenhouse like yours and with a climate battery would be the best option for me..

  • @ziran123
    @ziran123 4 роки тому +1

    You got a warm micro climate between the greenhouses. Why don't you put some heat lowing plant between the greenhouses, or put in a hoop house between the greenhouses, and secure the plastic with the channel locks on the greenhouses, then the risk for snow is over.

      I suppose I could, main issue I have is labor. I am mainly depending on the 7 members of our family for all the tending and harvesting of our farm. I will have 25 acres out in the field this year so I feel like I am already maxed out on my abilities to take care of this. If labor was free or land was limited I would probably strongly consider this. Thanks for the idea!

    And sadly its build wrong!. The side is screwed to arcs. It will rust, and win will tore tunnel plastic. I had time in my life building tunnels like all day in uk, some are being build some must dismantle and build again, never ending process, and you make them so long you cant even see end :D huge farms of different agriculture. You use clams, in every place there will be clams, on plastic clams, you see in 3 year time it will start rusting if it has bolts screwed, damaging expensive plastic, and you cant dismantle such tunnel as here. And you must do this, tunnels basically moving in fields, they are build so what you get max product all year. And professional tunnels are expensive as hell. So all parts cant rust, if you make hole it will rust, wtf i see wood here crazy its bad, it will rot and have mold, mold= disease.we had Plastic covered with ropes tight. i remember there was wind we asked help from pickers , well 5 people flew in air :D its like huge sail than winds starts blowing, crazy times. This greenhouse is strange. in profesional tunnel you dont need to inflate anything, there is clams for this. i Would not advice to buy this one. and did i saw ventilator inside ? :D , i would advice you to go maybe to uk farms, or europe, you will learn this greenhouse is piece of garbage. Its done wrong. It makes me angry people are tricked investing in such expensive piece of agriculture. Like if you see wood or any bolt screwed in tunell being sold walk away! torn plastic, holes never saw it. And we remember dismantle and build them every year, and to move plsatic yes you need tractor or car to pull :D so we basically used tractor used tree, you make plastic go around tree at the ends of tunnel and pull with tractor easy without damage
