This is one of the episodes where I'm legitimately jealous. Also, Barry, I would love to see a walkthrough of your pantry. It must be insane after buying so many components for these sandwiches!
It’s actually really easy to make and it can store well in the freezer. Which is a good thing because I make them all the time - with maybe a few shortcuts along the way. I think they are even better if you toast the pav before saucing it, but that’s just my preference. Yum!
Hi Barry, do you take sandwich recipes suggestions from your viewers? If so may I make humble one: Finely chop a half (hot house / roma) tomato, a quarter white onion, half Thai green chili and very small amount of cilantro. Add some salt and mix all together. Lightly butter some bread (outside) add the filling and a slice of American cheese and toast on both sides until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted. To plus it up have with some chai on the side. Ps. Loved your take on the vada pav and love your channel.
I'm so excited you made vada pav!!! I'm hoping to go out and get one for lunch this week. Great timing. I love that you're not afraid to try all kinds of cooking techniques. If you can make vada pav, you can make so many South Asian dishes. I think it's neat that you demonstrated how easy it is.
A very good sandwich is a take on a bierock you use sauerkrawt onion ground beef pepper and dough minced everything besides the dough evenly cook slowly for 25 minutes or until browned bake in dough for 425 or until golden add butter on top serve with mustard if you use the filling it makes a unbelievably good sandwich on rye
Asafetida is a garlic/onion substitute for sects that ban those foods. There's another relative of the carrot family that tastes like oregano. Random flavors end up in that group.
I live in Alperton in London and have soooo many indian restaurants/shops nearby and i enjoy Vada pav regularly 😍 never learned how to make this but there is a local place that specialises in this specific dish and it's absolutely incredible 😍💕
The Veg recipes website is absolutely amazing.... so much good stuff over there and clear step-by-step instructions (and Indian recipes obviously have a ton of steps like this one so it it's a huge boon when it's clear)
You had me at fried potato ball. I've been making crispy fried leftover potato tacos. I never thought about potato as a filling for sandwich like items but it is a winner.
Absolutely no carbohydrate on carbohydrate crime for me… I have never considered a french fries sandwich even with all those flavorful spices… Hard pass

Please try the very famous sandwich from India it’s called the “Bombay Sandwich” it’s super tasty!

I like to try that since you’ve done all the work!
I love how Indian cuisine can turn the humble potato into something so delicious.
I know, right😅🤗
Potatoes are delicious, period.
i'm not sure i've ever had a BAD Indian dish! they've mastered the art.

11/10 for work ethic- this is easily one of my favourites you've done. Awesome 👍🏻
That one's going in the recipe book. This is the first one I saw where he didn't change anything.

You'd make my great aunt proud. It's indeed a 10/10, but if you'd like you can also add sev on top of the vada for an extra crunch

This looks absolutely amazing! I haven't tried many Indian sandwiches (although i love pav bhaji), but I'd love to try making this sometime.

3:28 into the vid was a pretty funny reaction. Sandwich sounds delicious, too.

My partner says you needed breadcrumbs at the end. His family learned the recipe from a nonni from Parma that lived next door.
High effort, high flavor! I'm glad it's worth it.
Love it!
Being irish i'm good for anything with the word potato in it 😂
10! 10! 10! YUM!!!!!
The intro was dramatic almost like the start of a Liam Neeson movie.
I'd try it, but I'll not go to the effort to make it.
is it possible for a bad dish to come out of India??
“That was h-ot”- gold!
this is the longest SOH video i've ever seen
I'd eat the heck out of that. Hope you're doing alright

It's a lot of work? Not at all. I just walk down to the local chaat establishment and they give it to me in less than a minute.
I need to find someone to make this for me. 😂😂

Top off that steak sand with onion rings
Use a ribeye or NewYork strip.
No bacon? Well, ok...
Yuck!
Looks good, needs meat.
Absolutely no carbohydrate on carbohydrate crime for me… I have never considered a french fries sandwich even with all those flavorful spices… Hard pass
okay?
Very much your loss
@@lavenderoh You're right... loads of carbohydrates leads to weight gain so it is my loss =8-)
Excess calories lead to weight gain, not carbohydrates. Hint: loads of protein or fat lead to weight gain too
@@hazzmati All that may be true but if I look at carbohydrates, I gain weight... the only way I've ever lost weight is on the carnivore diet diet =8-/
