- Each time I visit Jim Omohundro at Casey's Corner in the Magic Kingdom it's a new adventure! He is the true spirit if the Disney magic and an incredible talent!
Jim and I were discussing the Sherman Brothers when I told him that It's a Small World was written not as a march but in the words of Richard Sherman, as a "Song of Peace." He promptly lit up the keys and played it ragtime style with lightning speed and precisions... enjoy!

Hey i actually know Jim! Hes known my family since i was about 3 years old and we always make time to go visit him when hes performing.
Marvelous! How wonderful.
That's what I call professional
"It's only 12 notes" He's talking about the chromatic scale, not the song itself. He literally uses every usable note on the chromatic scale in this version. It's honestly incredible.
He doesn't actually use that scale though. the music modulates through out, utilizing the pentatonic scales. Its not uncommon in ragtime, but you certainly must know the lay out of the keys.
Ragtime is just an improvisation of a song normally in the blues scale, it is incredible I'll give you that. Normally people just make it up while playing for example Jim.
I miss this dude, I had to move out of California and leave behind Disneyland. I’m a day’s drive from Disney World in Florida, but I’m on a tight budget.
Jim rules. Love his piano!
Rule 2: No requests for slow music
SKILLS!!!!
Jim is the best
I don’t think he’s there anymore :( when I was 5 my grandparents took me to Disney and we had lunch by the place where he places and when he was almost finished playing he let me play the last note
How old are you now? And yes I went and there’s a cover over the piano but he might come back soon this year or next year is what I think.
@@TechSpiritedZHe retired in 2020
@@beng3345 that was a year ago before I knew that Jim (Omohundro?) retired
Slower tempo? mmm I know how to solve this, set the playback speed to 0.75x
0:43
Asking Jim to play slowly is like trying to get hell to freeze over.
Never ask Jim to play anything slow! Lol!
Because he can't.
He could play just about anything.. I just think he's not going to play a slow song at an amusement park
The guy at the beginning was asking Jim to play something slowly. I don't think the guy knows how to do that.
It's called hubris.
@The Gimp Don’t know why you want to protect your girlfriend, but if someone thinks they’re too good to play something, I call bullshit. Dude is an entertainer. Stop being a “rag time snob” and entertain. Dipshit.
@The Gimp Nice try you racist fuck.
I gotta say, Disneyland/world are just a tiny bit better than the movies nowadays. This video proves it for me, he was just so cool.
He reminds me of Peppermint Larry.
Jim is pretty amazing!
I would spend my entire day time at Disney here
Really good, it’s sad that it has less than 100k views
Why does it look like the old guy in the background is having a PTSD attack
He is soooooooo good
the guy in the power chair looked like he wanted to say something
Aguesta ei era melodía mès bèla deth mon interpretat per òm deth melhor
this is what i want to be
How is your plan going?
Seeing him smile while playing made me happy
He's the best!
The guy in the back looks disgusted like he hates disney music lol
Nah, he's just old. He's a regular that often sits with Jim and shouts out obscure song titles for Jim to play. His name is Roy... cool guy!
Tony Cortese Cute
didn’t know that cool
Holy shit is that Stephen king?
What camera do you use?
Sure it takes skill to play everything on fast forward.
But it takes heart and respect to play a piece at the tempo the author has specified.
Does anyone know what this form of Autism is called? I forgot & can’t find it now ;r(,
