This is such an emotional song. It speaks to me as I've had struggles with accepting myself and major anxiety when it comes to real life. But it's so uplifting because we know that the boys have at least a little input into these songs (Hong and Mingi especially) so this is something that they have made about their own experiences! On that note, Seonghwa stated that every time he listens to this song, he cries because it's everything he wishes he could have told himself 3 years ago when he struggling with self acceptance. And Mingi said that he wrote his rap verse while on break about his emotions and struggles. It just makes it all the more real and emotional for me. I can't wait for the full album release!
Also, another thing to add! The end of Deja Vu is a direct representation of the diary from the third album! At the end, ATEEZ met up with HalaTEEZ. Yeosang went off somewhere else in the area HalaTEEZ was being held captive and found the Cromer (the hourglass). That was their ticket out and Yeosang gave it to Hongjoong. But one of the androids (the white masked man we have seen a multitude of times) grabbed Yeo by the neck, threatening to kill him if Hong didn't give the Cromer back. Yeo told Hong not to, but being who he is, Hong tossed it back. However!! Yeo grabbed it mid air, turned it, then threw it to the ground where it shattered. The next thing the boys knew, a bright light shined as Yeo and Hong were reaching out for one another. And just like that? Seven out of eight boys were back in their warehouse hangout. Yeosang is stuck in the dystopian land and the others need to try and find a way back to him.
That MV made me cry so so much, I love the callbacks to past FEVER tracts And this reaction was so sweet, made me tear up all over again hahaha this was great!!
