I had a woman wanting to fix me up with her friend, but I explained I wasn't interested in pairing off with anyone. She responded with "What about companionship?" and I said "That's why I have a dog". She said "Now you're saying something horrible". I thought to myself that I could have told her the truth, that a dog is much better companionship than a woman.

I can’t tell everyone here how happy I am, but I no longer have a wife. It’s like having an anchor around your neck. Constant nagging, comparing, and criticizing. I went from coming home from work and getting serviced immediately, to barely getting anything.the best decision I ever made was getting two dogs. They’re actually more mature than most women. A dog will sacrifice his life to save you. Most women will leave you the second better option comes by.

I'm actually glad I never married. There are women out there that tried to treat me exactly the way you were eventually treated while you were. And yet I wasn't even their past husband. I dumped them. It's amazing how many women will try to pull this in dating without a second thought, or considering what they are trying to pull. Once I resorted to friends with benefits or nothing (without mentioning to them), it's interesting how many women I could filter out. I even acted---without saying it---"I'm not your ex-husband. I'm looking for a lover." Yet several women still tried to enact their misery they "shared" with their spouse. In their own damaged way, it made sense to them instead of being a better person.

Without the s3x and intimacy, then what do you get out of a girl? Essentially a weaker, smaller, ultra low T man, that cannot control his emotions, gets easily envious, narcissistic, resource monster, demands special treatment, isn't that funny, conniving, deceiving, untrustworthy, manipulative, lazy guy. No man would want to hang out with a guy like that, but keep all his personality attributes and switch him into a very attractive female, and suddenly nearly all men want her, despite everything I listed, because of those s3x organs/overall physical sensuality (curves/slender hand/high pitch voice/etc)

We know women go mostly for men AT LEAST as financially well off as they are, and usually way more. But even if your GF makes good money, more than you do, and loves to buy gifts and all for you, it is expensive just because women like to spend all the time. It's crazy how they are habitual spenders. So even if you contribute say 40% you'd still be paying more than you would on your own, by a long ways. For trivial things that you wouldn't consider otherwise.
IIRC there are stats that show 80% of consumer dollars come from women. And we know it's not all their money! Same for State welfare programs and all, shelters, and on and on. Yet some feminists and media have to annoy us with their victimhood and "evil patriarchy" BS while they've never had it so good anywhere on Earth at any time in History! That ungratefulness is the #1 bad trait of modern women IMO. How can the "I don't need no man" find so little pushback?

John is just spot on, as usual. The logic and humor are just spot on...I grew up with dogs. When I was sick in bed, the dog was on the bed next to me. Most important, dog spelled backwards is God !! so that's where the loyalty, and unconditional love come from...keep up the great videos, just so many issues I can relate too.

The number one thing that keeps me single is I have always since my teens asked do I wish to incur the expense and whenever I consider the cost benefit the answer is no. I prefer the simple non-materialist and non-consumer independent life style that does not need or want any 'must have' things or 'must have' experiences dictated by society or a partner. I'd certainly not waste money on a ritual such as a wedding or honeymoon and I'd begin as I mean to go on. I estimate that despite the advertising of the cost savings of buying-for-two, in total the sum of buying-for-one is probably cheaper especially because the sum of ten buy-for-one items are cheaper than the sum of a hundred or thousands of buy-for-two things that are the 'deals' that lure the purchaser to purchase even as though doing so were a 'saving'. Notice how cleverly the retail industry has redefined 'saving' as though spending is saving. Each further expense requires further paid work to finance it or avoid the greatest enemy of freedom ... debt. The best things in life are free.
I'd like to see an analysis of causes-of-death for single verses married. It may be that being married or having a dependent (dog) keeps a man from doing the things he would otherwise do, i.e. those activities that come with greater risks of injury or death, e.g. all the dangerous sports. A man kept at home is less likely to die of activities outside the home. This might be especially true of married men in the 60s and 70s who I assume are more often obliged to 'settle down' than continue doing living a full and physically active and risky life that they did in their 20s-50s. And surely married-with-children puts a triple lock on men leading anything but a risk free life? A man who walks his dog every day is less likely to die than a man who rides a mountain bike or rock climbs every weekend.
Having written all this I absolutely understand that in past centuries it was absolutely vital for wealth and survival for the average working man to have a partner and children to literally keep himself alive.

In addition to all the benefits of companion dogs discussed, dogs don’t: become critical and demanding; get bored with your company; want a bigger house newer car, different furniture, more clothes and shoes; want to eat restaurant food all the time; look at their phone when you talk to them; make a sour face if you tell a joke; commandeer holidays to visit her relatives and then make catty comments about the visit all the way home; contradict, countermand, veto and undercut whatever you say; criticize, condemn, complain and correct; carp, nag, nitpick, find fault and compare, and act so suffocatingly consistently negative that you want to go into the bathroom, draw a hot bath, and open your veins.

now no one has promised us it would be easy, having a good marriage requires hard work, love must be nurtured, we change over time, changes happen around us all the time. The fact that you get married has nothing to do with love as such, it is a society's obligation to "secure" it's your children but also later to secure the woman if the Man dies. Today it's a different story and in the present time it's about to change again both women and men work. In the part of the world I live in, it has become normal that you get divorced and remarried several times and you have yours and mine and our children, so it is a completely different setup to what it has ever been before. You should walk away from marriage legally and let love decide and the only thing that should be legally protected by law today are the children where the biological parents should at all times be held responsible for the children's well-being as long as they are under 18 years of age

My children begged for a puppy for 3 years from my their hard working 💪 depression riddled, zero sex drive mother. She said I don't want another child. I have to wake up and go go No to the dog.
Best decision I ever made getting a litte puppy to help my son and daughter deal with the emotional support when their mother moved out of the family home at the behest of her own mother and simp father. We are all so much happier with our new family member and companion. We take him everywhere on planes, hotels and vacations.
And I am certain he is more grateful 🙏 to me getting him upgraded to first class than my ketamin depression drug resistant ex wife. She would let my son and me move to economy seating while I gave her (and the monster in laws) my first class seats and never thank me or my son.

Both Ex#1 and Ex#2 came into their respective marriage with me with a dog. When they cheated and left me, their dogs stayed with me after the divorce. Both Exes knew that the dogs had a better relationship with me than they did with them. I think the dogs appreciated the masculine "pack leader" mentality that I brought to their lives. Both dogs were much better companions to me than their previous owners!

After 26 years my wife & I have decided to get divorced. We get along ok & are still living together until our house is sold, but we’ve just completely drifted apart & are no longer in love, so probably best for us to move on. She has just been to Florida for two weeks to see friends. When she returned home yesterday she asked me, “What is the biggest thing that you noticed living on your own for two weeks without me here?” I thought about it for a bit then replied, “I guess I’m so surprised that a toilet roll will last more than 3 days.” I cooked my own dinner last night, & lunch today. It was worth it though lol. She is not happy.

In my divorce settlement it was plain to me that each took away what we’d wanted out of marriage: I got our dogs, who offered companionship, humor, love and affection. She got my house and a huge chunk of my abundance. She even hatched a plot to abscond with my dogs when leaving the state we’d lived in. I consider my marriage to have been a complete waste of time and money, knowing I’ll never get those 20 odd years back. That took some getting used to but I’m happier than I’d ever been in wedlock. Men, listen to this man sharing what he’s learned so that you don’t have to make as many of the mistakes as we older men made.

I had dogs over the decades and I never had to yell at any of them. I usually don't use voice commands at all, I always taught them signs (hand gestures). I view using voice already as an escalation step and so do they. If you are consistent with them, you'll have a great time. Dog behavior tells you a lot about the owner.

I'm 54, and I didn't possess the secret sauce, whatever that is, that leads to marriage and kids. From my own experience, I think most women are looking for an attractive bodyguard that works pro bono. If you don't fall into that category with your natural gifts, then you're invisible to most women. I like what John says about women caring deeply about what other people think. If you're not going to impress their friends, then again, you won't be considered for the job. And certainly in this day and age, with so many women entering the workforce, putting off marriage and children until after they've established a career, there is often just a narrow window of time for the right guy to come along. And historically, only about half of men reproduce anyway. Thanks John. You're thoughts help to console those of us who've never captained a boat and have no passengers.
