I've been doing the same thing where I live in Milton Keynes. Not the first city on any photographer's list. It does have quite a diverse range of locations and vibes; old, new, modern, rundown, parks, warehouses, business, commerce. Haven't been at it long but enough to keep me going so far.
That’s good to hear man. I’ve heard about Milton Keynes, but I’ve never been there. Once you know the town you are shooting you find more and more stuff to shoot… Keep going 👍
I grew up in Maidstone, Kent so good to see Ashford. Now in High Wycombe, it's much the same as most of these old English market towns and I do walk there camera in hand and do struggle sometimes so this has helped a lot. Thanks. Had to go to The City of London last week, a gold mine of photo opps in contrast.
My pleasure. Thanks for your feedback. I know Maidstone fairly well, but I never been to High Wycombe. Many of these English towns are similar I do agree. I think London is probably the best place in England for street photography. It's actually probably on the best places in the world. Enjoy!
Interesting ideas there. Thanks for sharing. I'm always amazed at how much foot traffic there is in your part of the world. It seems no one here walks anywhere. Probably just a US thing - car culture.
Thank you man. Appreciated. I guess so. When I was in Boulder, Colorado, it was quite busy on the streets. But you’ve got a lot more streets where you are. 👍
I'm a Brit who's lived in the US and Australia and there does seem to be a thing in the 'new territories' where roads and building are laid out in blocks and grids that once outside the city blocks foot traffic drops off quickly. It's not the same in the UK (Europe) in part I think because the communities are a lot older and many were foot and horse only for hundreds of years. People tend to drive to an out of town car park then get the bus in and walk to shop.
Hi Joe, a good video with some interesting information on what to look for in quiet places. If you’re looking for another place like Ashford, then the Cathedral City of Gloucester fits the bill.
I live in an area where it's not too much modernized...more short jungles present which aren't maintained properly...also dirty....and alot of areas are vacant ... So what can i do?

Thank you so much for the tip. I will keep Gloucester in mind. I think I went there many years ago. I appreciate your feedback 👍
Biggest local town to me has a population of around 10,000 - which makes it a LOT harder!
It does. But it also makes it very interesting.

That sounds like a very interesting and unique place to shoot. I think you should definitely explore with your camera.
@joeredski any idea?? I'm new to this so don't have much ideas to make those dirty places look like a masterpiece with my camera
