no, the transimission is the same
According to the BMW website the OP is correct, xDrive is 8spd sport auto (torque converter) and sDrive (FWD) is dual-clutch 7spd...

@@DrivingCars was it the M-Sport suspension then? How was it, too stiff or just the right compliance? Were the tyres runflats on 19inch wheels?
