I’ve been playing bass for more than 23 years and I still love watching your videos. You don’t ever have to prove yourself to anyone, you are a world class player.
Kinga, you are truly an inspiration especially to other self-taught bassists (like me at a hobby level)! I love your style and how you make the Jazz bass sing !
It is amazing when I hear such accomplished musicians saying they are self taught, but then again, other than a few sporadic lessons when I was a teenager, I am self taught. And have been focused more on music theory the last few years.
Dear Kinga, you are a real inspiration for me as another self-taught bassist. Thank you for being opened to answer the questions. Greetings from Slovakia!
Hi Kinga, I had the pleasure of seeing you perform here in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Your music, along with the energy of the musicians who play with you, was truly inspiring. I even gifted a ticket to a singer friend who didn’t know you before, and now she wants to play bass! I wanted to say hi to you but didn’t have the courage, and then, to my surprise, you appeared behind me and greeted me! Thank you for such an unforgettable experience!
I really enjoy watching and especially hearing you play. You have such fluency in so many styles, and the joy is obvious! It's also obvious that you have put in many thousands of hours to perfect your craft, even considering your immense talent. Well done, Kinga!
The first time I opened a utoob of you playing I must admit I was struck by your physical appearance. But then I heard you play and quickly became enamored of your musicianship and beautiful positive attitude when you play. Now, it is the music that draws me in every time. Musicians like you, Ellen Alaverdyan, and Julian Lage, who smile so much while playing, makes listening a great joy. Since I have now played for over 50 years, I have experienced those moments of discouragement many, many times. I tell my students that it is to be expected if you are serious about constantly improving. But it is never a sign to give up or quit. Thank you for being you and for sharing your love of bass with all of us. May your future be filled with joy, health, and prosperity!
You are an amazing bassist. It’s a pleasure watching your videos because you can see how much you enjoy playing. Very inspirational. Keep them coming! ❤
That was such a sweet and insightful video, thank you! I can only agree with the other comments, you're a big inspiration, especially to all us self-taught musicians out there ❤
Who would have a negative comment about you? I love watching and listening to you play. You are an incredible bass player. I'm in Chicago. Come to the States.
Ms. Glyk, I've been enjoying your videos for a few years. I am also self-taught. I really appreciate your groove and the emphasis you place on certain notes in your solos. You have a cool feel for music. You're one of my favorites. As the father of a daughter, I can only imagine that your father is very proud of you. Hopefully, you will tour in America. If you have and I missed it, that's my loss. Please keep inspiring bassists. Merry Christmas! God bless you and your family!
In English! Amazing. I have followed and admired you for years from the USA. Thank you for the video! Merry Christmas! I would have never ever guessed you were self taught. Hello brother ... c'mon, be brave :) .
It really shows that you're having fun on stage, and it's contagious 😊 I'm so glad I caught one of your performances this year, and hope to catch another in 2025
I am also a self-taught bass player who started playing around your age. That was after I personally met the incredible Eberhard Weber whose music still inspires me today. When I listen to your music it's like traveling back in time to when I really started getting into bass. This love of music, this trying out of new things, this discovering new sounds. You are also a big inspiration. I wish you always the guidance of our heavenly Father.
In the last couple of live videos you actually look super relaxed, so, at least it looks like you really enjoy it, which is always super fun to watch. Wesołych Świąt from Germany.
During the pandemic, your music inspired me to play bass. I'm only around grade 5 now, but I'm happy to be good enough to be in a band and make sweet music. Thankyou.
I’ve been following you for years and this is the first time I’ve heard you speak. 😂 I too use a Japanese made Fender Jazz, a fretless one. You’re a awesome bassist and one of my favorites 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
hahaha so it is a good thing I recorded this video haha I'm super happy to read that you enjoy listening to my playing and now you also know how I speak haha lol! Thank you for following through years!
Your music and, no less important, your person transmit honesty. So every note that comes out of your bass is true and for me this quality is the most important thing. Music is about believing and feeling and you do it. Happy New Year !!!
You're my favourite female bass player, Kinga. I love your sound, your technique, your taste. I wish you happy festivities and an amazing 2025. All the best for your career! Cheers- //Rick
enjoy your music very much - wonderful to hear you talk about your motivation and inspiration - now I have to go listen to your new album - have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year
I loved seeing you preform at the North Sea jazz festival, despite the bad weather. It was definitely the highlight of the festival for me. You are an inspiration to me as a bassist and it was amazing to see and hear you and your band up close. I hope to see you preform again and that you will release many more albums.
Merry Christmas! 🎄 You are awesome and your playing is so great. Seeing you live in Bonn earlier this year was amazing. You and your band were on fire! 🔥
Gratuluję talentu i zaparcia, żeby dojść do takiego poziomu "samej"!
Dzięki wielkie za komentarz! Postaram się coś wrzucać z live koncertów. Nie często się da to zrobić ze względów technicznych ale faktycznie byłaby radocha jakby się udało mieć takie pamiątki! Pozdrowienia i powodzenia z basową przygodą!
Two things. First, my favorite Kinga video is your cover of Wham's "Wake Me Up..." The pure joy is amazing. If I had to recommend one Kinga song/video for someone new to the channel, that would be it. Second, given that I missed the opportunity to throw out a question, I'll ask it here and now. If you had the opportunity to collab/perform/write with anyone in the world, who would it be?
Same! A perfect tune to wake up and change a gloomy day into a joyful time! I adore female musicians of any kind, and Kinga’s sound is really something different. We’ve literally slipped into the performance of Kinga and her outstanding band in Tarnów with my wife, and she became a new devoted fan of Kinga’s joymaking music machine 🎸🩷
I LOVED this video! So good to get to know you a little better. I am a recording engineer in Nashville and I show your videos to my bass player buddies sometimes to get them motivated 😊
I keep hoping you can come over to the US to tour. I would love to see you. I like mostly rock and roll, and blues, but also like funk and some jazz. I like good music. Never got into classical though.
Very good to see this video. I like this type of video where the musician gives details of his profession and makes you closer to his audience. I loved the video. I'm from Brazil and since I saw you on UA-cam a few years ago, I started following your work. Here, in Brazil there are many supernatural bassists and I was happy to see that "Pipoquinha" is a reference for you. I'm also a bassist and I love seeing you play. Thank you for the comment! Happy to read that :) Brazil is a beautiful country, I hope to visit it one more time again in the future. I was there this year and it was one of the most amazing experiences! Of course Pipoquinha!! Love his playing! I was also happy to record this video although it is not the easiest thing to do hahah :D Have a beautiful next year and yes I agree it fantastic that thanks to the internet we can all see and hear much more!
You are one of the bassist I heard back then (and of course today as well). Joy Joy is still so much fun to listen to and I really enjoyed the whole album real life. Merry Christmas, Kinga!
Hi Kinga. I've been a fan for awhile now and think your wonderful personality shines thru on the bass. I am a fan of the Jazz bass and your tone is incredible. And of course your playing.... what more needs to be said. Love the 'shorts' for a quick boost but it's all great. Maybe see you in California sometime. Take care
You are a wonderful artist and musician. It takes courage, so thanks for all you share. It is inspiring to learn about your process, practice and to see your growth.
Thank you for making us great songs I really love them. The best groove I've ever heard was the nothing from nothing cover. It would be great to hear the whole song with that great bassline :) Anyway I can't wait the live show in Budapest :)
A year or two ago I had a young girl as a student, learning to play bass. At the end of one of our lessons I gave her a list of bassists to listen to and I put your name on there. I have since lost touch with that student, but I hope she is doing well. You are a great musician, and an inspiration to many.
Kingo, taki poziom muzyczny jaki reprezentujesz, technika, poczucie uczuciowości, improwizacja, bez wykształcenia muzycznego, mistrzostwo, naprawdę, ja prosty muzykant, brządkacz gitarowy, któremu ojciec schował dziadkową fisharmomonię, bo przecież "z muzyki nie bedzie chleba" podziwiam u Ciebie!

Droga Kingo, jesteś świetną mlodą osobą i wspaniałą artystką. Dumni jesteśmy z tak utalentowanej i ciężko pracującej rodaczki. Uwielbiam Twój ton gitary basowej i Twoje kompozycje. Są wrażliwe ale także pełne energii. Udaje Ci się dobrać świetnych muzyków i razem brzmicie świetnie. Życzę kolejnych sukcesów w tej jakże trudnej branży. Michał z Kanady.
I just discovered your music this year and immediately realized that I've been missing out on your phenomenal music! I love the new album Real Life and I'm keeping an eye out for any concerts in the US on the west coast 🙂 Like the last comment. I'm blown away that you are self-taught. Amazing!
thanks for sharing your life with us, and Merry Christmas :) would love to see a kind of video where perhaps you're jamming or working on something, and your voice is overlaid explaining what you're thinking in the moment!
I still wanna see a power trio between Kinga, Anika Niles, and Lari Basilio. I’ve been saying this for many years. The music that would come from these 3 ladies would be absolutely AMAZING!
Very enjoyable. Your playing is fantastic, and people love that you are so facile and seem to get so much enjoyment in the moment. Naturally, people are curious about the person behind the artist who brings gives them admirable work. So if you’re the type who’s not bothered by sharing your personality with your fans, this type of video is fun. Of course, for many artists the crowd fascination is a little too much. For them, it’s understandable and should be clear to their fans to enjoy their art but respect their privacy. Thanks! ✌🏻
So crazy to hear that you're self-taught!! Wow!!

You are as charming as you are talented, Kinga, and that's saying something. Best wishes to you (and your brother) always!
It is amazing when I hear such accomplished musicians saying they are self taught, but then again, other than a few sporadic lessons when I was a teenager, I am self taught. And have been focused more on music theory the last few years.
Self thought musicians are the best, all from the heart and soul. Thanks for sharing this video
Today I was driving my car with my parents and we listened to the whole Real Life album. They both loved it. Now you have two new fans
