my vocal chain is a shure sm7b going thru a UAD 4-710D preamp, in logic I have a stock eq, waves CLA-76 compressor and a waves CLA-2A compressor, Antares autotune, A waves d-esser, and Valhalla room for space
Well I love it! :) I have tried many expensive mics like the Manley cardioid but this is by far my favorite for my voice. Very warm but also clear but not too clear so it pics up all my weird sounds in my voice. And it’s a plus that u can jump around with it . Buy it!
@@korallsthlm Yeah I have been using a rode NT2-A and it sounds great but is very hard to mix in because the topend picks up to much sibilance. do you use any of the shelving/ filtering on the microphone itself??
Hmm I see! It’s really hard to find a mic in these price ranges that have a pretty ok frequency response. I use the cloud lifter for the sm7b and I must say that opens up the mic real good. Both for the good and worse. The high frequency’s are always something tricky to make sound good. But personally I rather fight a lil bit with that than have a mic that as a whole doesn’t fit my voice. So if you’re overall happy with your rode on your voice It’s not like the sm7b are gonna be magic hehe. :)
