Bathou Puja (Assamese: বাথৌ পূজা) is an important religious festival of the Bodo-Kacharies of Assam, India. It is celebrated in the month of January ( 2nd Tuesday of Magh month) every year. Bathou means five principles namely Baar (air), Ha (earth), Dwi (water), orr (fire) and Okhrang (sky). The Bathoubwrai is said to have created these five principles. It was declared as a full fledged holiday from 2017 by the State Government of Assam.
