- Cal Fire says no containment has been reported yet as of Wednesday morning. It's unknown how many homes have been destroyed, but the path of destruction is becoming clear.
I agree that this reporter was one of the best I have watched at reporting on not only the damage, but what may have saved other homes nearby. Very professional, a great asset to this TV station.

How can you have "defensive space" when PG&E tells @NevadaCounty to remove dead trees and Nevada County ignores???
I live in Oroville. This fire was frightening, and I kept having flashbacks of the Camp Fire. May we never have a nightmare like that again! But this Thompson Fire has us on standby. It’s not over yet, there is no containment yet. But I would like to thank all of our firefighters, aerial crews, law enforcement, and everyone else who is working so hard to contain this fire. There are also lots of other people helping - food, shelter, and so many other services being provided to people who are displaced by this fire ! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU !!! Potter's Trail area, shown across the lake, also burned in 2020 from a lightning caused fire. Lots of fuel grew back in four short years.

7:30 AM over in Chico, the wind is once again picking up.
It went from near nothing to definitely picking up with gusts.

1:57, green object intact-looking at the bottom of the wall, blue bin on the left near the boat. Green houses behind did OK.
Make sure if you live in the country you buy the old copper sprinkler system that jets put and not the plastic bobbbers that pop up. Solid copper sprinkler heads attached to a 6" metal pole in the ground. That will protect your defensive space around your house.
Also intumecent paint for your home. It's not fire proof but will act as a barrier to your house.

Oroville, in and around town and out from town a ways, has had some kind of a fire every day, sometimes 2 a day since the first day of what could be called fire season.
Well before the heat kicked in.
It was like that last year, the year before, and the years before that.
What ever goes on over there involves regular fires.
