Thanks for posting this video. My BX25 is in my garage and I was scratching my head trying to figure out how it’s possible to replace the link. I can see how lifting the floor so it can rotate makes removal possible. I also see what a pain it is and I might just bring it to a shop after having seen your video!
I may have been a bit frustrated when I said I'd take it in next time. It wasn't really all that bad, but since I had to figure it out on my own, it made it worse. I saw forum posts that said a dealer would charge $800 for this job. I'd have a hard time spending that amount for this fix. Best of luck to you, let me know if you end up tackling it yourself!
Glad you did this. I have the bx1880 with the same issue the piece is worn enough it slips out the hole after cutting grass almost everytime now. Temporarily fixing it by stuffing a pin in between the wear to stop it from popping out. This looks like a bad engineering because even replacing it looks like its going to happen again over time. There is no way they expect this to last with wear and tear of a mower deck.
Thanks a lot for the video. I have a similar issue where the welded oval shaped pin that holds the link on has been damaged and the link can slip on and off. Having seen this vid I think I might just cut the pin off then drill a hole for a nut and bolt and hold it on that way instead. Cheers!
