- Did you catch this new starship in the latest episode? Star Trek Discovery makes moves to remember the late Aron Eisenberg, who played the Ferengi character of Nog in Star Trek Deep Space Nine for the shows 7-year run.
Star Trek: Discovery is the seventh series set in the Star Trek universe. Created by Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman, Discovery was originally set roughly a decade before Star Trek: The Original Series, set primarily aboard the starship USS Discovery, before jumping from the 23rd century to the 32nd century.

Nog and Jake had a beautiful friendship and we will always miss Aron Eisenberg who gave a lot to Star Trek, Nog lives forever
Nog was Wesley done right. Instead of being given everything he earned it. Aron brought such a humanity to the character. We watch as he grew from a little turd thief to go onto become a Star Fleet officer. The first of his species. Nog deserved a ship named after him.
Hear, Here!
A lovely touch. Really like that Discovery is taking the opportunity to fit these little tributes and nods to the past this season.
Aaron deserved to be acknowledged like this.
Except that Nog wasn't even born yet in the time that Discovery is set in, so how could they name a ship after him?
@@gamewizard1760 this episode was set centuries after Deep Space Nine.
That was a great addition. Aaron Eisenberg was excellent as Nog.
We need to see the USS NOG kick ass!!!
That was a lovely way to pay tribute to Aron and his character of Nog. Though I kind of hope that we will see Nog's name or image there at the future Starfleet Headquarters, alongside that of Pike, Kirk, Riker, and others.
I remember Nog, he had a lot of heart.
That star ship has lobes
Great find! And it is awesome to see him remembered in such an awesome way!
Not a big fan of Discovery but that was class. God grant him rest. Thanks for the video. #USS NOG 👍🏾✌🏾💯
I was very Happy RIP MOG to see that as well.....I saw it mentioned somewhere else...then noticed it....RIP NOG
Thank you for this video. Nog was a huge inspiration to start my own road to recovery from PTSD.
🖖
I hope there’s a more detailed look at the USS Nog during season 3.
This was a nice touch. I hope we get something for Odo in one of the shows as well.
It's probably not going to happen but I would like to see the Chimera turned into a legacy ship as they did with Voyager.
Interesting why they named a ship the Chimera. A possible jab at one of the better known Imperial Star Destroyers in Star Wars.
Thank you Captain Jack. Aron was great to talk to. I met him twice.
Thank you for creating this tribute to Aron/Nog!
I think this is miles away better than a statue at Star Fleet. The idea of Nog becoming an officer renowned enough owing to him being made a statue is a bit hard to believe from the end of DS9 to the time of Picard. It just feels like the span of time is too short. Plus, as a symbol, I think Nog’s placement is a great reminder to viewers that this future entity that feels very unlike Star Fleet hasn’t entirely forgotten its past and can be that again.
So far this future Starfleet feels like Starfleet to me. They have limited ships and resources yet they use what they have to save the lives of aliens dieing from a disease?
I do like how Star Trek Online continue the concept with the characters of Voyager and DS9. I like how it involved Nog, Kera, Bashir, and Odo into the story arc. DS9 lost two great people. Aaron Eisenberg and Rene Auberjonois.
Im not crying.
Nicely Done, remembering Aron Eisenberg , and all the good he inspired and fun he brought from his portraying Nog , so thank you Capt. Jack and the crew at Trek Central , and for hailing frequencies are open and waiting , now course laid in and now "Punch It", as we head that away. signing off for now.
🖖
@@TrekCentral Ty for the heart and to all of you at TrekCentral, Live long and prosper.
I just wish they also add the USS Defiant in the episode.
Aaron eisenberg just received a great honor I'm soo glad I've would not only name a ship but a planet and a sector should be named after him, we were rob of a possible Captain NOG series
I would love to add had a Eisenberg Class starship to my collection.
I don't know about all of you, But I for one would have loved nothing more than to see captain nog order episode of picard commending the Defiant phasers blazing And quantum torpedoes launching to save the day. Rest in peace Aron, you will be missed.
I think this makes more sense for Nog and Aaron. In Picard Nog would still be in starfleet, so statue may not make alot of sense. However, dialog referencing Nog in some way in Picard maybe doable if not forced.
I hope that René Auberjonois gets referenced someone how Aron wasn't the only one to die.
They really need to do something for Odo too. Odo saved the entire Alpha quadrant from the Dominion. Perhaps the Odo school of security.
As much as I love Nog and really appreciate this tribute (hoping for more), Odo was a principle character in DS9. It seems only right that Odo should be honored as well.
I think they will end up naming a stellar object after his character. Like "The Odo nebula" or something like that.
Going to the future was the best move ever it’s great show now
I'm a sap, I cried for like 10 minutes when I saw that.
USS Nog looks like a Dominix from EVE
Agreed, that or a Vexor. Definitely not a bad thing either way.
Yeah from that angle it looks like a domi or a sin.
@@Bitchslapper316 @Greg S yea its definitely gallente looking. i like it
r.i.p nog
For some reason I read this as Dishonors & was confused the hell out why....
LOVE IT!!!
Finally! Someone say it, and didn’t forget it.
No, of course there wouldn't be a statue of Nog at Starfleet in Picard. Statues are made honoring the dead, unless the character died heroically by Picard's time Nog would be a Captain commanding his own ship, MAYBE an Admiral but more than likely still a Captain
I have little love for Star Trek Discovery. Alex Kurtzman has a lot to answer for. However, for once they did something good. Credit where it's due. Although it was literally a blink and you will miss it moment. An afterthought I feel.
I hated season 1 and 2 of disco but so far this season has been pretty good. Episode 1 was meh but 2, 3, and 5 were good. Episode 4 was really good. If you haven't seen this season you should check it out.
I hope I'm wrong but I'm still expecting them to do something dumb in the next episodes that ruins the season.
what music is that in the background ? sto music or something else ?
Nog wouldn't have been born yet, at the time Discovery is set in, so how could Star Fleet have named a ship after him?
sweet
God if there is any more hugs, crying, over acting, hugging, crying, emotion, hugging, crying, transgender, no gender, same gender, hugging, crying and over acting, i might scream. Starfleet used to be a disciplined semi military, strong character series with a purpose. Star wars, bond and now star trek has been destroyed, ive always been open to new star trek enjoying all of the series, except this and Picard. What crap
Hey, this is a respectable video about how the show honours an actor who has passed, not the time to trash on the show really...
The crew of Discovery is the remedial class, don't take anything they do seriously.
