There's a 2022 Polestar 2 Performance on the second-hand market with only 16,000km on the clock. It's a really good price and I am tempted. I'm still driving a dinosaur burner 2017 Audi S4 Avant and I have been holding off on getting an EV for a few reasons. 1) Cost. Waiting for second hand market to get more competitive. 2) Range. I live in a mountainous region (Wanaka, New Zealand) so I need a decent range to be able to get around without stopping to charge all the time. 3) Charging network is still in infancy in New Zealand but it is getting better now. I think I am getting close to be ready to get an EV but I might wait a little longer for prices to come down some more. Also one test I always do when looking at EV's is I used ABRP to check if I could drive from Wanaka to Frans Josef and most EV's cant do it or they can but you have to drive max 90km/h. This is worrying because if I have my bikes on the back of the car, I might get stuck somewhere because I can't make it to the next charger.
WOW, like others have noted, BEVs generally have no gear reduction like OD on ICE, look how range plummets when going from 90 Kph vs 120 Kph. 70 Miles difference.😳
The original Polestar 2 uses permanent magnet synchronous motors for both the front and rear axles. These cannot be disengaged. The facelift Polestar 2 uses a synchronous motor at the rear, but an asynchronous motor at the front, which is how they can disengage it.
The 90km/h difference from the rear wheel drive is due to the larger wheels and tires on the performance. At 120km/h air resistance takes over and both nearly the same. Maybe try the test with smaller wheels?
no problem. it’s fine. on winter sun is very low in norway and nordic cars. sun is almost horizontal lateral windows are less tainted by law impositions
Polestar or Bmw i4 e40 ? Are they both superb cars allthough they are ’different’ ? I love the Polestar design but I ’guess’ the Bmw is a better car overall (?). i4 in Sweden are extremly expensive, basic version starts around 700.000 SEK + …
Hello from Belgium !
Any plans to test Polestar 2 MY24 Dual Motor (No Power Pack)?
Excellent test drives and commentary as usual.

Tack👍
Good result!
Nice looking, great job Volvo.
13:37 video length, nice
Will you be doing a 1000km challenge with this refreshed AWD model? What’s your time estimate for 1000km?

Yes, same brilliant design like Tesla had since 2018 :D
Not sure on snow...
I was blown away by your 23.4Kw/100km.
Then I remember my UK car shows kw/100miles 😂

Are reflections worse on the P2 than other cars? I seem to notice it more in P2 reviews.

I have tested both + Tesla and the BMW is superior to me, but significantly more expensive once you start adding stuff.
125 km/t 🥳
on 110 km/t E6? :D
You need more stones on stove.
