Thanks so much...Your explanations help as we choose dresses for our Grandson's wedding which is Formal Black Tie....foreign to other family weddings and this Grandma
i had to subcribe because i think your the reason my sister wont pull me to the side at her black tie event and say LEAVE.....Lol now if you can give some recommendation for short 5'2 110 lb sports build body i will run to the store. still THANK YOU FOR THIS VID
I liked the info. I would have liked to see some pictures of jewelry and shoes for these events. The dresses were well explained with examples but the shoes and jewelry were barely explained. You mentioned outdoors but indoor? I was really looking forward to that as well as the jewels and now I feel like I don’t have all the info 😢 Vould you please add in some pictures of ahoes for indoors and explain the materials as well and the jewelry (pearls? Gold? Big small? ) Also, what type of coat can be worn🙏 thank you
Hi there! Thank you so much for sharing. When it comes to jewelry, I didn't elaborate because the topic of jewelry is very vast. There are many options when it comes to that, and jewelry (for me) is always dependent on the dress/outfit you are wearing. For me, I even pick jewelry based on color and design of outfit, neckline, etc... so it gets very specific. I do appreciate you sharing this though, because maybe you're not the only one who feels this way. What I will do is work on a dedicated video for accessorizing for black tie. For now, what I will say is to keep it simple and dainty if you're unsure (I'll add some links for you in another comment)... if you're wondering what size and whether to wear pearls, diamonds, etc, again- that depends on what your base outfit is. The more busy your outfit is, the more simple and small your jewelry should be. The more plain it is, the more you're able to wear bigger jewelry/statement pieces. As for shoes- again, depends on your outfit. I recommend *not* wearing a skinny heel if you'll be in grass/dirt. When it comes to indoors, you can wear whatever dressy shoe makes you comfortable- anything goes indoors because the floor is solid. If anyone is able to wear a heel, I always recommend it because it looks fancier than a flat. Open toed heels works well in the warmer months, and closed-toed pumps work well in the colder months. Material of shoe can vary, but the dressier materials are leather, patent leather, sparkly shoes, suede, mesh, and nylon. I hope this helps!
Here are some jewelry examples (but again, really depends on what you are wearing... and it even depends on your hairstyle. I wouldn't say that each of these goes with every fancy look- but I'll explain more when I make an accessory video). If your dress/outfit already has jewels on it, match the rest of your accessories to that. Also, some of these are quite expensive, but just sharing as examples. You can definitely find more affordable options! : www.katespadeoutlet.com/products/razzle-dazzle-linear-earrings/O0RU2975-250.html?KSNY=true&ogmap=PLA%7CACQ%7CGOOG%7CSTND%7Cc%7CSITEWIDE%7CSurprise%7CKS_OTL_Google_PLA_Signal_NA_Generic_National_PMax_NA_BAU%7CSitewide_Regular_Core_NA%7C%7C20582472940%7C%7CUS&KS_OTL_Google_PLA_Signal_NA_Generic_National_PMAX_NA_BAU&gad_source=4&gclid=CjwKCAjw_ZC2BhAQEiwAXSgCltd73bKTSJ663spz7agh_x73SDpJzAM-Trhkh53-sTCNSvIXmKkWsxoCUKAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds www.etsy.com/listing/646064194/bridal-jewelry-set-wedding-jewelry-bib?gpla=1&gao=1&&CjwKCAjw_ZC2BhAQEiwAXSgCljseaFlMhfvpAGqifotIJNcmidpECwxnk1vl9tnb9j5XvqfC2-zm8BoCvJAQAvD_BwE_k_&gad_source=4&gclid=CjwKCAjw_ZC2BhAQEiwAXSgCljseaFlMhfvpAGqifotIJNcmidpECwxnk1vl9tnb9j5XvqfC2-zm8BoCvJAQAvD_BwE www.elleecoutureboutique.com/products/copy-of-dream-jewelry-set-with-necklace-bracelet-drop-earrings-and-ring?variant=47840395624739¤cy=USD&gad_source=4&gclid=CjwKCAjw_ZC2BhAQEiwAXSgClrFMmVvn4q6Dz9lGKgMzEU0RXNfyy99BmWpQa6UpFt53W1DaZ9ftCRoCh3IQAvD_BwE www.boutiqueottoman.com/product/hurrem-sultan-sapphire-jewelry-set/?Google%20Shopping&Google%20Merchant%20Feed&gadid=&gad_source=4&gclid=CjwKCAjw_ZC2BhAQEiwAXSgClnKRiGIPFrGmWm7_SlYrXD42rnOSa4KJN-ofQ2u6xWjA21NFte-VQRoCnp4QAvD_BwE www.etsy.com/listing/1402373889/bridal-necklace-set-wedding-jewelry-set?gpla=1&gao=1&&CjwKCAjw_ZC2BhAQEiwAXSgClmfDbu0CO2Fl8O9hWrJZtNWqFHrpRgL6PkmwpyeTqJR_ZRlv9buQeRoC-P8QAvD_BwE_k_&gad_source=4&gclid=CjwKCAjw_ZC2BhAQEiwAXSgClmfDbu0CO2Fl8O9hWrJZtNWqFHrpRgL6PkmwpyeTqJR_ZRlv9buQeRoC-P8QAvD_BwE www.helzberg.com/sale-and-clearance/freshwater-pearl-and-lab-created-white-sapphire-earring-and-pendant-boxed-set-in-sterling-silver/2433239.html?WP+Helzberg+Fashion+AlwaysOn+Shopping+FF+C+US+PMAXRestructure+Online+LowTierSaleOther&gad_source=4&gclid=CjwKCAjw_ZC2BhAQEiwAXSgClrA9apDgkzMC-QJRkIG3zMqKURm8tI0ddMq3Hq1MSu82YyIDbtQdChoCAKwQAvD_BwE
Hi there! I just dropped a separate video on jewelry for black tie events and I go into much more detail. Feel free to check it out. I hope it helps xoxo ua-cam.com/video/h8YmegrtCAo/v-deo.htmlsi=H4UclHIxy1jC8zyI
I only feel comfortable in sneakers. Going to a black tie event next week. Heels hurt my legs and I always have an injury on my toes when I wear them. Even the sandal ones. Isn’t there a way to pass sneakers in and still look classy?
There are some formal dress shoes for people with foot disabilities. Check the podiatrist office for catalogs or go online. There's a dressy shoes for everyone.
I'm going to a black tie wedding (first wedding ever) in October so this was very much needed and appreciated!

Very helpful!
But I’m short so a long dress looks crazy on me lol
Great video:)

Black tie event in may. Can you do a video for sping/summer black tie event.
Hello! Just released the spring/summer edition today. Here you go! ua-cam.com/video/AztHALE--O8/v-deo.htmlsi=RRgBjs_D0YpMgx3x
Thank you
You're welcome!
What about pants
Jumpsuits. Probably closest to what you’re looking for.
What about Qipao? The traditional Chinese dress, I think the length would be appropriate, but I don't know! Would you recommend it?
I would say that that can pass, especially because quipaos look more elegant and most of them reach the ankle (or close to it).
Can I wear a red gown for an upcoming gala in March? It doesn't have to be black, right? What accessories and shoes do you advise?
She mentions red is ok at 8:08
I have a black tie event in exactly 2 weeks. I have not been to one since I was in my mid teens. Help?
Can I wear pale pink?
You can definitely wear pale pink, especially since it's spring time 😌 I'll be coming out with a spring/summer edition of this video soon!
I only feel comfortable in sneakers. Going to a black tie event next week. Heels hurt my legs and I always have an injury on my toes when I wear them. Even the sandal ones.
Isn’t there a way to pass sneakers in and still look classy?
I'm not going to lie, I haven't seen sneakers at all at black tie events but you never know! Would you feel comfortable wearing dressy flats?
There are some formal dress shoes for people with foot disabilities. Check the podiatrist office for catalogs or go online. There's a dressy shoes for everyone.
Plaese don't wear lingerie type clothing either. Check your under garments too. Make the investment. Nothing ruins a look is poor undergarments.
absolutely! undergarments should be smooth and undetectable.
