As a university student, it’s a must. My old roommate had to carry out his desktop from home and it was a hassle. Plus being able to bring it with you to the library and class is great
@@littleman787 what?! That is so untrue! I have an Rog Strix and I can play battlefield 1 at max and its not even that loud?! The only time it'll get loud if you put on turbo mode. And I can play batman Arkham Knight at max with only little fan noise.
@@greatdepression4504 Idk if you’re asking me specifically, but I have a Asus ROG Zephyrus M15 and it’s the GTX 2070 Max-Q version. It’s great and highly recommend it
I got one of these Sony Airlines products too. But i wasn't taking it lightly so gave it back and they gave me brand new model and that thing doesn't make any noise at all
Generally for me personally, even if I need to stay on the wall juice (for better performance and short battery life), the fact that I can pick up and move a whole, all in one gaming setup to another room in seconds is the selling point for me.
If youre moving a lot (house to house, hotel to hotel, exc) Yes, if you want something to use at multible houses (Divorced parents, boy/girlfriend), yes If you care about price/perfotmance, yes (keyboard+pc+screen, costs less then buying them seperate) If you care about a true desktop experience, no If you dont like something being hotter then the sun in your house, no
Thanks for breaking it down. You also have to consider space some people might be living in very small apartments or dorms so it might be more space effective.
I'm a college student, so the portability is a requirement. I have the G14, and it's really light and easy to carry around and lasts ~10 hours for the kind of work I do.
I just got a gaming laptop because I thought I might need to take it to school or work and even though I haven't had to move it much, I love it. It's so easy to move, I can take it to my bed, couch, desk obviously, etc. And the performance in my programming tasks has been amazing! I used to have to wait for my old laptop to process stuff for ages, but this one does it in the blink of an eye. I just love it, could never give it up
For me, a gaming laptop is a must as I go away for work a few times a year. Yes, the lack of performance is a downer, but having the versatility to bring it with me is a fair trade off.
Exactly. I was thinking of getting a desktop but bringing that thing to college in 2 years will be a HUGE hassle. I love the gaming laptops portability, price and performance. Big plus for me!
But let's face it, you're probably not going to need a super high spec machine when you're out, because you can still game on a laptop with worse spec than a PC, even if you can't play the latest titles at 4k 60fps with RTX on, you can still play fun games on a laptop
Got a Helios Predator 300 back in 2019 with a 1660ti, i7-9750H, 16gb of 3200mhz ram, and 144hz screen for $900 (it's now $1,199 on Amazon) and it's been great. Just got my brother the 2021 variation with a 3060 as a gift to help him have fun while studying for his masters.
Lmao, i've had a ps3 and a pc that is like 9 years old for my whole life, that is until my computer died of old age or some shit, it literally finally gave up and died after i dropped the battery on the ground accidentally. It literally couldn't survive if i took the charger out of it. The charger was a normal charger, but it had a battery on it. I know, weird right? I was just doing my homework on it and when i took it, the battery on the cable hit the ground and then the whole computer deadlined. I was so sad after that, especially because i was like 10 when it happened. That was 4 years ago and i still get sad about it when i think about it
I got a gaming laptop almost a year ago already. I love it. I wonder if I could have gotten a desktop that would run better for the same price. Probably but a lot of prices you see are just the tower. And talk about portable. I woke up to my apartment building on fire. I grabbed my laptop and ran out. Now it’s the only thing I own. 👍🏻 🔥. Now that’s portable. Haha
If I were to have only one machine I'll definitely get a laptop. As long as a game runs, it's good enough imo. But portability is too good an aspect to give up for kinda better gaming experience. How often do you notice the texture of the road in a game? It's useless luxury.
It's a must not only for college but even for if you go into the military. You'll be moving around a lot and even when you're on the same base, you'll most likely move your barracks room a lot as well. It's far easier to just fold up your laptop, throw it in a backpack, and move rooms.
Gaming laptops are nice no cap but if really you want a gaming desktop pc just get a pre built and later change the parts as time goes on because the gpu shortage is crazy
I've been looking at a laptop due to needing some sort of "back up" so I can carry on doing my client's work, my PC was out for nearly a week and I lost out on hundreds cause of it, hadn't occurred to me before hand. So looking around for something that fits the bill by the year end to just literally be used if and when needed, this video does help a bit
An excellent summary of the pros and cons. I opted for a gaming laptop two years back (Omen 15 RTX 2060 i7) as needed a laptop for general work in a quiet setting and found the gaming specs much quieter than general use models. If the CPU power is throttled back 50% in the power plan the fans never spool up at all but plenty of power for all use. General / business laptops with lower specs that have used often seem to be more poorly cooled and uncontrolled noisy spool up of fans.
Buried rather deep but for Windows 10: System - Power & Sleep - Additional Power Settings - Edit Plan - Change Advanced Power Settings - Processor Power Management. Can then set the Min and Max Processor Power in percent. Also can adjust how fan spools up. @@kevinroark5815
For military members PCs are out of the question. Because laptops are so portable they’re the only kind of pc gaming that is practical. There’s definitely downsides to it like being very limited on how you can upgrade them but mines been through a lot in the 6 years I’ve had it and I loved it the whole time.
If you're buying a gaming laptop, look at reviews. There are many variations of GPU performance across the same e.g. 3080 GPU, in various laptops. It depends on clocks and power allocation to the GPU, how fast a particular laptop model will game, versus another.
I used to be a desktop guy, but there's something about my laptop that gives me that giddy feeling. It's a cool gadget and as long as it's better than the Series X you're good for 6-7 years.
@@youtubeshadowbannedme The processor alone outperforms it. A 130w 3070 outperforming a 200w 2070 is questionable. Either way, you have the option to downscale to 1080p with DLSS on. The consoles don't have that. Also Ray tracing will be better regardless because Nvidia >> AMD right now.
The only reason I'm truly considering building a gaming PC is because I want to go through that experience of building it from scratch and see how it runs. But those GPU prices though, lol its going to be a long time before that happens. I just like the simplicity with laptops, the portability when you're going to visit friends/family and I admire how a device at that size can perform so well. Just buy your stuff based on your specific user case and you'll be fine.
Trust me, how a pc is put together and how it runs is not interesting enough to choose desktop over laptop. Watch a video of someone building one and there ya go.
I've had 3 gaming laptops in 2 years. Great machines. I started with an HP Omen, and moved way up to an Alienware X17 R1. Worth every penny. The performance is way beyond acceptable, and what you get for your $$ is excellent performance in a form factor you can throw in a backpack. Do it! It's worth it!
@@HadalLive It was actually great. I had an I7-10750h and RTX2060 6gb with 16 gigs of RAM and 300hz screen. Thing was AWESOME at 1080p. Really no complaints, but I didn't buy what I wanted. I bought what was available. So, that's why I ordered an Alienware. I wanted to spec it exactly how I wanted it.
you had 3 laptops in 2 years ? this does concern me.. im thinking about changing my desktop to a gaming laptop but i would like to habe it last years and not have to buy a new one every 6 months.
I just got a 3050ti msi katana for 700$ and the build quality isn’t amazing but it does perform much better than I expected. I didn’t think I could comfortably go from my 3070 desktop to this but it is pretty awesome. It runs every hard to run game I have at medium/high settings at 65-80 fps or more. I was pretty impressed.
For me, if they readily available, then yes. For me, no. I prefer the option to upgrade key components when I feel like it. Also, I’m not sure about their cooling. Awesome when travelling abroad but I am desktop all da way
@@laos85 in laptops you don’t need specific parts you got warranty and you can return the laptop. The 1 warranty year is free but if you want more than 1 year then it’s pricey...
im entering college next year so i did bought my self a nice legion 5 gaming laptop, it good enough for games i play and it can do pretty much all school assignments. currently my country still experiencing lockdown so i connected the laptop to external monitor and keyboard. Flipped the laptop upside down so it can suck more air and i got my self a desktop pc.
Yes they are. I just don't enjoy playing on a desktop all that much and have always played on a laptop. Portability and convenience is more important than ultra HD full settings graphics for me..
Great video. Your point on laptops overheating is very true, the extra heat can reduce lifespan. My last laptop's motherboard broke after about 4 years. Not ideal, as they are a real investment for most.
As someone who's planning to get a gaming laptop... I wouldn't mind dealing with the cons of it being plugged in the wall for heavy gaming, the fan noise (I can just get a cooler) and battery life. Meanwhile, the pros of convinency of taking it where I need to go for work, school or other things I might need while I'm out. It's like a portable gaming setup or Workstation (depending on the laptop) and easy to take with you anywhere so I don't specifically have to do things from home all the time. Imo nothing really beats the portability and convinency while being able to game, use it for work, school and other personal hobbies. Then coming in with it being multi-purpose on the go. I understand everyone getting a PC, but it all depends on ones budget, how demanding it is and personal preference. So it's really up to you and what you're looking for... I hope this makes sense.
Have always wanted a gaming desktop but I live in a very small apartment and laptops are so easy to store away, and I live with a servive dog so her tail is constantly banging into everything lol, and I am legally blind so I probably wouldn't notice the difference in gaming graphics. For these reasons I'm definitely leaning to get a laptop
Why would fan noise bother you when 95% of people will be wearing headphones when gaming? I have an Omen 15 2021 with a 3070 and an 8 core Ryzen 7 and when gaming I have the fan on at near to full blast. I don't hear it over my headset, while I also don't go over 60 degrees when gaming for hours on end, which is incredible for a laptop playing games like Cyberpunk and Baldur's Gate 3 at 1440p. The only thing I wish gaming laptop's would stop doing is putting crappy 720p webcam's on top of the display which makes the top bezel larger that in needs to be. Either include a good webcam or don't bother at all.
I decided I would move from a very decent Macbook pro to a Windows Gaming machine back in March, its how I found your channel and have enjoyed learning lots through it. I spent a long time weighing up options and ended up going with the portability of a laptop and got a very decent custom build from PC Specialist. 4 Months later im still happy with my choice, however I have used the portability less and the machine has in large part been used in a desktop setup running a 4k screen with separate mouse and keyboard, i even had to get an additional webcam and microphone as the built in ones were so bad. But the regret of not getting a desktop machine is still not there, the means to pick this up and take it other places, even just to other rooms remains important and helpful and having never gamed before on a PC I have been incredibly happy with it out performing my xbox series x - comparisons to desktops just arent a thing for me at this time. In future i will likely get a desktop but Im still happy with my choice. Thanks for the video, enjoyed it!
I've just bought a gaming laptop. A TUF F15 with and 11th Gen I5 and a 3060. It's mainly for travelling and holidays, but I can use it for work as well (logging into a virtual machine). It was cheap and with some extra RAM and an extra SSD can pretty much do anything I want. Surprisingly it can also run VR games at low settings on my Quest 2 (though not my HP Reverb). I've just been away for a week and it's been great. But it is good to get back to my desktop.
I did get 7 years out of a high end Lenovo SLI GPU one. The only upgrades being Ram and a decent sized SSD. It was very expensive, close to 1.7k in total, but I loved the compactness of it. But darn, did it ever get very hot. I had to use a cooler under it due to the heat it gave off, it cooked. I would not return to a laptop these day. My Desk top cost a lot less, has much better performance than most high end Laptops, plus the upgrades are really cheap if you work a Generation behind in normal times that is!
I think the mid tier laptops for 3060 and 3070 are still good for desktop replacements if you don't mind the sound. Due to the increased prices of hardware. Only if it's cheaper than desktop equivalent though
Just bought my first gaming pc and it’s great! Cant wait to get streaming and have a faster and more fun editing experience. Thanks for all the information your channel is excellent and has helped me so much! Please keep uploading so everyone can get more PC info.
I tried several laptops, also including macbook pro and Imacs. Sure they all have nice specs, but come summer in the sub-tropical climate where I live and these things are noisy and get throttled to death because they overheat in those tiny little compartments with poor compromised cooling. Compared to my desktop which has a HUGE Noctua fan/heatsink, I can play full speed quiet gaming in the middle of summer in a heatwave and the CPU hardly gets hot. My laptops in this scenario however get so hot the graphics start degrading badly, and sometimes reset from over heating.
I work 12hr graveyard shifts at a powerplant, so yeah a good gaming laptop would deffo be next on the list. But my priorities would be cool temperatures, since heat kills.
I've been thinking about getting one for my birthday bc I want to start pc gaming, but parts and stuff are too expensive and hard to find. I'm also going to move out in a few years, and I don't want the stress of moving a huge desktop. Laptops sound perfect for me.
Get a Productivity Laptop. Like a Razorbook 13 it has a Great CPU and integrated GPU. it has room for expansion in the future if you plan on upgrading, you can buy an Accessory EGPU Gaming Laptops are on the way out ( in my opinion)
I picked one up for a few reasons. I can do grad school online, I can do work things when I'm at work, and I can play games when I travel. It's as simple as that!
Do you Think Buying A Gaming laptop Just For Gaming is Worth it ? SOMEONE told me that Gaming is bad For Laptops? I want to buy a gaming laptop because it has superior hardware in comparison to A normal Laptop. Portability is Also a reason why I want to buy a gaming laptop.
Thanks for the video, I've been debating this for a while. With the cost and availability of desktop parts getting a little better I'm going to be waiting to build my own desktop (5600x + RTX 3060) and get a cheaper (non-gaming) laptop, rather than buy a gaming laptop of similar spec and comparable cost of both (almost). I want something quiet, so gaming laptops are really off putting in that sense.
After owning one for a year. Yes, yes and yes! Not far off a desktop performance wise per pound once you take peripherals into account and the only downside is dying in doom eternal ultra nightmare cos of the tiny shallow press keys lol My son's PS4 playing fortnite far drowns out my fans even at 100%
I disagree. I hate gaming laptops. They get way too hot and are for traveling to big and bulky. When I am traveling I'd rather have my phone for netflix and my switch for games, it's even multiplayer friendly when traveling with family or friends. So big win for that. Bulky games with high performance requirement is what I play on a pc at home.

At the moment, I think they’re an excellent price proposition. It’s almost $400 cheaper and that’s without a display on the desktop side (this is with a ryzen 7 and 3060 specd machines), and i could still save $200 and upgrade to a 165hz 1440p 500 peak nit display.
imo if you can get a laptop with decent specs for cheap, it’s a must and way cheaper than a desktop build especially in 2022 with the chip shortages and ridiculous rtx prices.
I got a laptop because if scalpers are already charging 1,000+ dollars for a PS5, I might as well use that money on something that already has a huge library. Emulators are free, games on Steam are cheaper than on console, you own said games forever when you buy them, and it doubles as my 'work from home' station when we shut down due to COVID. Also, I suggest gaming laptops to single enlisted Sailors living on the ship

I like to get a mid tier gaming laptop every 2-3 years. Cost a lot to upgrade. However, I always sell my old laptop and get some value back. Usually, I’ll get between $400-$700 back from selling one. All depends on how popular and good the model I picked out was. When I upgrade to a new laptop, I’m getting a whole new setup. New screen, new ram, new motherboard, new processor, new graphics card, etc. if you factor in the resale value and the fact that your getting a brand new setup with every laptop purchase throughout the years, it’s worth it to me. Not that much more $ than a desktop if you take all that into account. Plus I can play it everywhere!

I think when making a video like this, you need to take a stance and not sit on the fence about it. Almost all points raised here are familar points to most people and too brief to be considered useful. People can decide for themselves if the analysis/opinion is relevant for their considerations, you should have added value by touching on less obvious factors like 1. Average lifespan of a gaming laptop vs desktop 2. Which parts are likely to give way first and average replacement costs 3. How long it takes to become obsellete to newer technology 4. Differences in upgradability and repair etc.
Honestly, I preferred to buy parts to build my own pc. I just can't justify the outrageous prices that people are setting for these graphics cards right now. I even considered prebuilds, but for some reason I found a lot of videos that suggested that a lot of the SIs, and even trusted brands like Lenovo and HP are just not up to par with regular pc builds and that one should be really careful before considering buying a prebuild. Especially if they don't list the manufacturer of who makes the GPUs. That whole situation made me fearful of considering a prebuild at this time. And what's even harder for my situation is that I need thunderbolt ports to not sacrifice latency on my monitor while being able to seamlessly switch between my work from home laptop and whatever my gaming machine is, and I have yet to find a compatible motherboard that supports it if I went down the build route right now. That is why I bought a Lenovo Legion 5 laptop to use right now. Is it worth it considering I won't be actually using as a laptop all that much? No. Definitely not worth it in that regard. In terms of price however, it is. For right now anyway. Long term value won't be there, but I honestly could not stand to still be using my MX150 gpu Acer laptop another day that I bought 4 (coming up on 5) years ago. It's been getting awfully slow and even after a factory reset, still can't play any modern games even on very low settings. It is unfortunate that I could not wait several more years to upgrade (and I probably still could have if I just not decided not to play any modern games for a few years), but I didn't. I wanted to play more modern games and didn't want to wait any longer. Not objectively the best decision, but the best one I could have made given the circumstances. For me, it was worth it to buy the gaming laptop at this point in history. I can't say it's the best for everyone. I still believe the actual desktop pc is best for my needs, but this was the best I could do for the time being. Thank you 2020.

In all honesty, I considered gaming laptops and I have suffered gaming on some truly shitty specs during my time at college. But they served me well regardless and i was more a casual gamer than a serious one. Honestly, I'm excited at the prospect of creating a desktop gaming environment with the potential of building my own pc (I bought a pre-built bc of the GPU scalpers but definitely 3-4 years down the road I am gonna build one or try to upgrade my current PC) Over the years, I found that I don't really game on the road as much as I used to, so whether you want a gaming laptop or PC really depends on your workload and your commitment to gaming.
For someone who have used both desktop and laptops for every generation over the years, I could say that this generation's laptops are the most competitive. They're almost near a gaming desktop performance. Make sure to invest on at least an RTX 3060 with a full 115w tdp with at least 16gb ram that I would think is the sweet spot. I bought a legion 5 recently and it is my best bang for buck of this year. Might want to hold off until the 2022 legion 5 gets released though.
for me its not about needing to bring it out of the house but wanting something i can have on my lap on the couch and watch streams and general use and then also put it on a table to game, u just cant do that with a standard desktop. that is why a laptop is a must for me.
After a year of owning a msi kitana I'm very happy with it. It's doing everything I've thrown at it. Only issue I had was I had to run windows trouble shooter and download the correct drivers and after that she ran excellent. I can even stream with OBS while gaming 9 + hours no prob.
I have a 17 inch HP Omen and I love it, it can do 4.5ghz on turbo and has a good enough graphics card (rtx 2060) It runs every modern game I've tried on Ultra fine the only problem with it is it gets really hot when gaming... the CPU will hit 97 degrees and the GPU will be 75-85, I have a cooler underneath it and even with the fans on full it'll hover around 88-90 but apparently modern chips are designed to withstand these temperatures. Still its a bit hotter than I am comfortable with, I've undervolted it and capped the turbo cpus at 3.4ghz to keep the temps a bit better but it sucks that it's not really designed to handle 4.5ghz because it gets too hot.
I'm on the same boat, My cpu or gpu can go high if used independently, which is nice for creative work, but if it's heavier gaming, I need to cap my turbos to keep the laptop from exploding in flames lol.
I've been playing playstation all my life but recently been thinking of changing to pc, but i dont understand all the "technical terms" like RAM and stuff. Is there any videos you recommend?
I am in the same boat, I have been thinking about getting a gaming laptop as well. I do enjoy playing the latest games on the PlayStation. But I do want something portable so I can play the latest games as well.
I have a 1 year old son and another baby on the way, with no space for a desktop (as much as I would like one). I like the idea of being able to play in any area of the house and be able to put the laptop up so the kids cant mess with it. But there are so many options and I'm still so new to it that I cant choose. Its between the lenovo legion 5 pro, legion 7, or the omen 15. If anyone has suggestions or recommendations of which of these would be best then I would greatly appreciate it. I deff want one that doesnt run super hot tho. I dont game a bunch and want something that could last a pretty good amount of time. Great video man keep up the awesome content! 👍🏻
I think it depends on the country's availability and the timing. Nowadays, where I'm from, a laptop gives more immediate gratification compared to desktops. Any affordable setup will die once you start up any triple-A game. Also, the upgradeability argument can't apply if there aren't any parts to upgrade with. Hoping for the best this 2022 because I kinda want a desktop PC.
In my country gaming PCs are more expensive than gaming laptops of the same specs due to high shipping costs of gaming desktops which is determined by weight and volume
I love gaming laptops because i need portability since i am a traveler. So gaming laptops matchs my lifestile atm :) i would buy a coolerpad for temperature

I travel for work 4 months out of the year. I have both a desktop and laptop to satisfy my gaming addiction. I custom build my desktop and put most my budget there and have a more “budget” friendly laptop for travel. The external gpus would be a great option in my case here, I just really enjoy building pc’s.
I've always been a "PC master race" person when it comes to gaming, but this video definitely gave me insight into some of the laptop appeal. I am going to college as a freshman now and my current PC is one I built in 5th or 6th grade. Needless to say it's seen better days. Part of it could be I need more upkeep, but regardless the portable nature of a laptop seems a given to me now. I was thinking about if I might use it to replace my current PC instead of just using it for schoolwork, but I needed more information. This video was very insightful and it helped me decide that I will go with a gaming laptop after all. Thank you and good work kind sir

How do you reduce CPU to 50%
Buried rather deep but for Windows 10: System - Power & Sleep - Additional Power Settings - Edit Plan - Change Advanced Power Settings - Processor Power Management.
6 years is a good effort, what laptop did you have?
If you're buying a gaming laptop, look at reviews. There are many variations of GPU performance across the same e.g. 3080 GPU, in various laptops. It depends on clocks and power allocation to the GPU, how fast a particular laptop model will game, versus another.
Agreed my laptop has the highest tgp for the gpu (3060) which still out performs lower tgp 3070's
I used to be a desktop guy, but there's something about my laptop that gives me that giddy feeling. It's a cool gadget and as long as it's better than the Series X you're good for 6-7 years.
exactly
There aren't any gaming laptops better than a Series X right now unless the flagship models with RTX 3080 or RX 6800 (or better)

Just got a Legion 5 Pro, man that machine is awesome.

I know I’m probably not the only one but I have to have both a desktop and a gaming laptop. It’s just so useful to have a laptop for trips and such, but I normally go middle end on my laptop and high end on desktop
I wish I could have both too
I am planning to buy a farily simple laptop for university and a seperate gaming pc
Not to mention the comfort zone. Play at a desk on the couch or even in bed. Gaming laptops are pure confort.
Same! I'm hoping for a desktop for Christmas and once I get a job, I'll buy a gaming laptop myself
@@persephone9307 you're probably better off getting the laptop for Christmas and building the desktop yourself, relatives will likely just buy you a bad one or not know what spec to get, but laptops are simpler to pick usually

They are garbage compared.
With the prices of Gpu's in conjunction with desktop components, laptops are comparatively great price deals with their internal gpu configuration
i work from home in my home office so i’m looking into a gaming laptop so i don’t have to spend all day in my office (work and then game on a non portable pc). the portability i need is to be able to bring it into the living room and play while watching tv so i don’t go crazy in the same room all day haha
i just replaced my 1 year old mid-range PC (Ryzen 1600AF, 1650super) with the 2021 TUF A15 (Ryzen 5800h, 3060mobile) and the performance jump was significant.
While mine will be on the desk mostly, it nice to be able to detach and take it away on holidays, or to the loungeroom when i need to.
I predominantly edit photos (Where the GPU takes a lot of load) but game a bit so good to have the best of both worlds.
I got the A15 for ~$1650 AUD, and will sell my old Desktop for ~$1000 so a no brainer for me.
Where did you get the ASUD TUF from for $1650? That's a good price... I just sold my 2020 ASUS TUF FX505DV with 2060rtx and the Patheticly slow Ryzen 7 3750H and purchased a Dell G15 Ryzen edition with a Blazing fast Ryzen 7 5800H and 3060 130w with mux switch for $1954 AUD and I absolutely love it

Please i need your advice on this please. I have a HP desktop computer core i7 2gen, 1tb, 8gb ram but the graphics is Intel very small.

What if i get a normal thin and light laptop for normal studies and a itx or matx pc for heavy stuff and so it is easier to take home during vacations?
Gpu scarcity is causing price inflation. So I went ahead and bought an msi sword recently because it's one of the few gaming laptops you can open up and upgrade storage/ram on.
A lot of gaming laptops allow for ssd and ram upgrade nowadays
Pretty much every gaming laptop allows for upgrading those. Do you live under a rock?
You should make a video of recommendations for price ranges for PCs and Gaming Laptops
For those of us who are new to this it will be helpful to see the specs compared between a PC and a Laptop in a similar price range.

Only one question - How do you post your video on the perfect time??

I got a acer nitro 5 with a gtx 1650, intel core i5 and a 144hz refresh rate and it does really well
So I have a budget of $2000 but expendable to $2500 if I can get better parts. Few things that I compulsory want is 32GB ram, AMD ryzen 5900x, 3080 and 2TB of storage. So what will you recommend a prebuilt pc or I should build my own? If you recommend prebuilt what will be the best one and if you recommend a custom pc what will be the parts list?
I would say if you felt confident pal build it yourself then you can pick all of your own parts to fit your own designs and likes and you can work online deals for the best prices 😉
The 3080 itself is around 1500$ rn how do you intend to fit the whole build under 2k

1 reason to not buy a laptop instead of a PC: *H E A T*
@@organicmethamphetamine2391 Yes lmao
In all honesty, I considered gaming laptops and I have suffered gaming on some truly shitty specs during my time at college. But they served me well regardless and i was more a casual gamer than a serious one. Honestly, I'm excited at the prospect of creating a desktop gaming environment with the potential of building my own pc (I bought a pre-built bc of the GPU scalpers but definitely 3-4 years down the road I am gonna build one or try to upgrade my current PC)
Over the years, I found that I don't really game on the road as much as I used to, so whether you want a gaming laptop or PC really depends on your workload and your commitment to gaming.
Might want to hold off until the 2022 legion 5 gets released though.
for me its not about needing to bring it out of the house but wanting something i can have on my lap on the couch and watch streams and general use and then also put it on a table to game, u just cant do that with a standard desktop. that is why a laptop is a must for me.
this vid fr gonna come out right after i buy a gaming laptop...
After a year of owning a msi kitana I'm very happy with it. It's doing everything I've thrown at it. Only issue I had was I had to run windows trouble shooter and download the correct drivers and after that she ran excellent. I can even stream with OBS while gaming 9 + hours no prob.
For me the temperature is the biggest issue
@Skittles thank you thats acc really helpful🤙🏻
I am in the same boat, I have been thinking about getting a gaming laptop as well. I do enjoy playing the latest games on the PlayStation. But I do want something portable so I can play the latest games as well.
Just look it up on UA-cam?

@@loganbennett9219 if you like travelling laptop is the choice
Honestly the upgradability is what is keeping me form buying one.
The cpu is no problem but ram, storage and gpu would be nice
Being able to game in bed is the biggest seller for a laptop for me, I can't stand sitting at a desk all day I love my comfy bed lol
laptops are meant to be placed on a hard surface for air flow not on your lap and not in the bed...anyone who's not a moron knows this
