I've been in the game since 2007 and I can honestly tell you that SMV has nothing to do with outer appearance and everything to do with mindset.
You've already lost if you genuinely believe you’re out of a girl’s league. Looks and muscles only help because it boosts your confidence. And I know plenty of guys who have it all yet do terrible with women. That should tell you something.

If you want to attract a girl with a higher SMV than yours, youre not doomed if youre not drastically gifted with good looks. Increase your looks with working out as much as you can, bring your money up so your SMV is higher, bring up your swag, then you can get to the same level or higher as the girls you perceive as having higher SMV. In terms of ABSOLUTE attractiveness, a 7 will typically be attractive enough to provide contentment. But a 4 will not. In the end, the genetic lottery is simply going to give some individuals an unfortunate life (given the modern world).
