bro legit huge inspiration! im legit in a similar position I live deep south east coast right by the water in new Bedford ma and fuck every weekend or any day I get off im commuting to different mountains but most of the time alone no one around here is about that life lol so sad to see temp going up and winter coming down to the end but im in grind mode and cant be anymore excited for next season. because of you I want to grab an ikon pass and do a trip hitting different mountains over the US and it will happen within the next 3 years hopefully way sooner. All I want to do is snowboard everyday. I have a decent paying full time job but I would give it up in a heart beat and eat shit for months even years if that meant I could snowboard errrrrday. much positivity and love!!! #forthedream keep that fuckkkka alive! Just seeing you strive and do your thing is really igniting my fire that much more then it already was.
I skated my whole life prior to hopping on a snowboard. First time on a snowboard, I ate it down the entire mountain lol. Huge learning curve for me but so worth it! No better feeling in the world when you finally get control of your edges and start sending it down. Love this sport.
I have ridden 124 days this 18/19 season! I'm 20 and I work in a rental shop. Before this year I rode 5 times over the course of 3 years. Super stoked and chasing the dream!
Man, I am at a crossroad right now too. I want to snowboard as much as possible because 2 days a week is just not cutting it. The issue I guess is working a desk job meaning there are so many days I am not doing much but little things. I think the only way I am going to be able to get as much snowboarding as possible is to be self employed doing my own thing. But first thing is move from Nebraska to Colorado!!!
Dude you're becoming one of my fav youtubers right now. I'm full on adulting now but I still shred often. My ride hay day was 2002-2009, we made snowboard videos but shared them to our site. Fun as hell, I so badly wanted to go and live the mountain life, but was always conflicted cause I knew I wanted to pursue a career in film/tv and was torn between the two. Super stoked with my decision to follow through, but part of me missed this element. Now I took it one level higher in 2007-2009 i was shooting the You Look Good snowboard tour and got into some Ride commercial spots which literally combined my LOVE of riding and "filmmaking". It was super busy working much music on night shifts and travelling shooting these events all across Canada over extended weekends...great part of my life though. This sort of reminds me of that, super cool the opportunities you can to share your experiences with us as well and watching this shit every day within a big city urban landscape is a nice getaway before I start my day. Many words I get it, but worth it. Keep it up mate.
Well said Mark! I've been watching Casey for months now and he's one of my fav youtubers too. When I discovered his channel, he was in California surfing at the time. Then he and Jamaal take this killer road trip/adventure zig zagging across the US. It's awesome to live through my boy as he shreds the mountain and surfs that cold ass water in the northeast. For the dream, Yeww!
THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN! That is the ultimate battle in life, deciding which awesome thing we want to commit all of our time to. It sucks and it's beautiful haha... You would have the same opposing feeling no matter which one you choose so just be grateful for what you have, because it's more than most! I am beyond grateful to be able to make videos and purse my snowboarding career because like you, those have always been my two passions in life. I really appreciate reaching out, epic story brother!! For the dream!!
So hyped on our relationship bro, you are a legend and I respect the support beyond belief!! This summer we will be ripping tubes together in S.D. por finnn!!!! Yewww!!!!
Agreed about feeling mixed about whatever road one takes. It''s just nice to love things in life! We rode every weekend and every trip we went on was a westward mountain trip (I'm in Toronto)...we headed East a few times, but the Rockies are just so damn nice. Live the dream mate, keep producing videos! Stoked for you! I'll drop more essay comments when the time comes ;)
Mate! YOUR stuff's great as well damn! Best part about "small creators" is you have decent exchanges with them and it's a good place to find that hidden talent. Snow and Surf....my two diametrically opposed loves in life ;)
Ayeeee 🤙🤙 I can dig it!!! First time I strapped in? ( i was 18 working lift ops.) I skateboarder since 11. Snowboarded 2 nights that season. Took 10 yes....10 years off riding. ( life happends) Went first time again last year? NAILED IT!!! PROGRESSIVE AZ!!!! January Found your channel .season ended in Feb *present day it's still 2/3 solid months before we see snow . I'm itching to hit the mountain!!! 🤙#KeepingTheDreamAlive Oh. My profile pic is like the 20th session on my first year back after 2days of riding 10 years ago!!!
Thanks for sharing dude! I feel you on the 10-12 days per year growing up. For the first 10+ years of my riding, I was only able to ride 3-4 times a year. There were one or two years where I only rode once. My local hill was about an hour & half away. I don't know why I didn't make it a priority to save up and buy a pass/make it work. I think I was just young and foolish. I wasted my money on going out drinking and stupid other stuff. But last year I finally got a job at my "local" hill. Life's busy but now I'm riding twice a week. Next year it's my goal to ride 5-6 days a week and possibly move out west. Thanks for the backstory. Keep up the work and the dream will follow!
Yeah man thats how most people grow up! You have to make that next level step towards progression by moving close to the mountain if that is really what you want to do with your life! Glad to hear you already made it, you are that closer to shredding every day now! Thanks for the message and I hope you reach your goal bro!! YEWW!!
Great story! Just started watching a bunch of your more recent vlogs and gotta love the editing style, music choices, overall personality and vibe, and most of all the riding. Great job all round dude!
I am turning 30 this year. Just quit my job today, planning on riding everyday for the rest of the season. I know I am probably too old compare to 19 year-old you but I am genuinely happy that I finally found the meaning and fun in life and be able to stop living my miserable everyday life. Love your videos man.
Oh word you're from my neck of the woods crazy I knew you had madd east coast vibes I was familiar with hahaha cool shit man I've been telling so many people about your channel I've never even hit the mountain and I'm stoked on your content. I'm driving my girl crazy but she loves it I know it hahaha she watches all the cinematography and shit and loves it. Cant wait to get some merch and rep hard
Sick dude!! I was just talking to the ridge boys and were going to plan a trip to come down and shred there someday soon! Hopefully we can get some new snow!!
It was my Myspace song at one point haha. Keep living the dream man! I was in a similar situation growing up and moved to Boston to work and shred the NE more often. Planning to book it to VT in a few years to do what you're doing!
Yewww thanks homie!!! I have a link to do so in the description of the video! Or maybe I can drop the link here lets see.... www.caseywillax.bigcartel.com
first off don't feel obligated to respond to this comment, save your energy for stacking clips and dropping heavy edits. I totally know the feeling of having to scrape together cash for a lift ticket. For most of my twenties I was too broke to ride more than a day or two a year then there was this two year sweet spot where I was getting by, plus riding a decent amount. Now I'm financially set but tied to a desk with no opportunity to ride. So tough to strike that balance! For now I'll just have to live vicariously through your blog.
Well hey man, it sounds like you are exactly who I make these videos for haha! And a lot of other people are in the same situation as you. You just have to be grateful for what you have and make the time to go when you can....don't spend money recklessly and just enjoy the days you make it to the hill! Yeww!
Idk how this doesn’t have a million views
Haha
Love coming back and rewatching old vids like this
Yeeeeee
