Well I played FO 76 for almost 3 years now. Got into it b/c of FO 4 , stayed in it b/c of friends I met. But the quest in that game did not seem to reward or satisfy as much as I see in this game. I’m this game I have a buddy with and we a good time but, when I play alone it’s just seems more rewarding when completing quest; between getting weapons , getting armor , getting mounts, getting pets, or even getting a house. Which I just did last night The Lunar House. Sorry to be long winded, but I like the game been playing for about 2 months and I’m enjoying the content you put out. Thank you
Same here played fo76 since beta and started eso last week and now I see how much Bethesda neglected 76 its junk compared to eso. I still love 76 but eso is so much more rewarding and just a better experience than 76. Hopefully Bethesda can improve 76 over time and get the experience to match the eso experience.
Grinding is easier if you set a timer to it. I burnout pretty quickly so I limit the amount of time I can spend grinding to a fixed number, after hitting the timer, move to an enjoyable task. Its just like using pomodoro on a boring job, when you know the end is closer you don't get frustrated.
I am going through the grind with a warden tank and I made the mistake of leveling as a tank. Took forever to kill anything but I never died :) I also have a magika Templar that I just started and it is soooo much more fun. I am determined to learn to tank and heal so we will see :) Thanks Adam! 👍 🤘
Been playing ESO for years, mained a hybrid templar...I've recently fallen into the trap of starting new characters, getting to lvl 20ish-30ish, then move on to another character/class. I've started a stam(ish)dk, a stamsorc, and now I'm currently trying a magden. Thanks for putting out this video, perhaps I'll try sticking it out this time and stick with it (just looking for another main to use).
The trap of trying to do to much at once or spreading yourself to thin. I’m running 17 of 18 characters right now. I have grand plans for each of them but there is only so much time available to play. Most days I just use most of them as crafters.
My first build was Templar and I think its a great choice for learners as its so forgiving and can run healer and DPS very easy. NB was my 3rd build and I found it much more forgiving having already learnt the game basics and having my templar as a tier 9 crafter already
Started with a NB which is still my main, in the meantime have gone crazy with the stam warden. Have a bow/bow ranger warden w elf that is just so much fun. With the roles nothing is more annoying to heal then the DPS face roller that put on heavy armor with no taunts or sustain then says they are a tank in dungeons. If you are just learning to heal these people are the biggest reason a healer will quit.
I have to say I played eso every day back when I started in march of 2021. The problem was I only played tank and after hitting cp-160 and even before I only did daily dungeons for leveling and not quests. It worked for fast xp but not for enjoyment. I stopped playing until this past January and have loved it because of the armory system. It has brought me back into the game! You also need to find a good guild with fun people is also something to keep you going. I’ve gone from DK tank to stam dps to crafter all in a day. Armory system is a game changer if you have not tried it!! I am about to make a stamina Templar which is exciting! Ready to jabby jab to my hearts content. Also questing in ESP is the best of any mmo out there!
A trap I see people doing is speed leveling. They grind to get the levels but they don't get the skillpoints because they think just having the increased levels will make them tougher.
I power level to 50, and then quest to get skill points and test buildouts on the toon at CP instead trying to build an end game strategy based on experiences with a class prior to 50. Focus all skill points into combat effectiveness through to level 50, then with quests you can expand that character beyond thier combat roll.
my first class was warden but it reallt didnt click on me at first. then made dragon knight always looking at metas and back and fort rolling from dps to tanking. tanking is fun in dungeons but questing/outside of dungeons you just want to bang you're head to the wall. then I quit now after 6 months got back and give up on meta, play the game the way I want it and now role playing as a warden bosmer ranger (bow bow) then this game shines... enjoying a lot this is the first time I felt this enjoyment on my 200hours playing before as meta dk.
So just to recap for my own experience: I've finally gotten my Templar Breton Two-Handed/D-Staff DPS to Lv50 CP 160, so that means everyone I have now will be CP160 to apply all those points whenever I feel like it. I dunno if you have a video on this yet, but I have concerns about the fact that crafting is a decent way to keep up with armor pieces during the standard leveling process yet the CP process skyrockets so fast, it boggles my mind why there's *four* other lower CP tiers for crafting before the 160 tier, considering once you hit those CP levels, most of your resource gathering is almost all the time gonna consist of your CP score instead of your actual crafting cap. Seriously, who's idea was it to scale mats to CHARACTER level and not SKILL level so you can potentially drain your resources dry with no hope of recovery? I think ESO's way of Enlightened XP combining with account wide CP makes a huge problem in that crafting after Level 50 becomes literally useless for dozens of hours until your characters deconstruct dozens of items just to max their skill level to not only catch up to their jump-started CP, but *to even craft AT ALL.* Sure, I have plenty of those resources stored away in my bag now, but it's not going to be a whole lot for catching up other characters outside of hoping every armor piece even drops at least once, otherwise I'd have to decon a million items just to turn crafting back on. Not only that, but the player economy seems to barely care about keeping up with the basic mats. It baffles me that I get a writ for Light Armor stuff when I'm a Medium Armor character on my main and because that comes from plants and not enemies, it's more of a pain to get...so when I go to find the mats in stores, *literally no one is selling them.* What in the hell? I have NEVER had this problem in FF14 if I need anything crafted. Even if it was way way too expensive, at least the option was always there. I'd rather see an option be woefully out of reach Gold wise than have no one give a crap. The crazy thing is, I absolutely had fun once I started figuring out regular leveling and CP leveling on my main and standard leveling is still going to be fun on alts for figuring out my skill builds. It's the CP boost that worries me that it'll just wipe my stats clean, give me zero opportunity to craft anything and just pray I can survive long enough to get armor drops from ANYTHING anymore. *And I can't even go on my main to make that easier* because I'll still only be gathering max tier mats when EVEN MY MAIN CAN'T USE THEM YET, I'm only in the 30's for my equipment professions!
I will add another point to the 1rst topic, try playing your class in a different way. I'm experimenting with a brawler magicka sorcerer with no shields and having a blast! Tanky, fast and deadly Haha
The FREE respec comes at level 43, not 50. You can save the tokens until 50 though When i was new and started watching you i thought you were great, but as i learn the game i realise how much of what you tell us is misremembered or just plain wrong
Here's a big trap that it looks like you've fallen into... thinking you're burnt out and need to take a break from the whole game, when in reality, you just need to take a break from a certain thing within the game. There are so many different things to do in ESO that unless you feel that you need a break from physically moving your mouse around or inputting your log-in data... there is no reason to "take-a-break" from ESO to avoid burnout... I have been a member since six months BEFORE ESO's public release in 2014 (That's November, 2013, scrubs...) and I thought I had done everything in ESO... However, instead of "taking-a-break" from the whole game... for example, I found new aspects within the game itself called "Dark Sacraments..." Few people take advantage of these little chunks of content... And I think they are only unlocked after you advance your Dark Brotherhood skill line to a certain point... They are similar to the quest that rewards you with "The Blade of Woe," although the Blade of Woe is actually bestowed upon you before you kill Quentin Jerol... These assignments take place in completely different instances, so it's almost like a single player pledge...
Skyshards and the boring hunting for them hobbles the game. This is the time issue and I see people quit over it. Evidently affects PVP to but I don't like Cyridil even in Oblivion. You need 100 points just to get decent passives, abilities etc and that is 300 skyshards. The meta concept is corrupt, perhaps FFXIV would destroy you trying the nonsense. No tank should have healing, it is nonsense and just using a cheat God mode. I find healing the ultimate challenge, especially with undisciplined DPS that steal hate, etc. and keeping them up. I find most tanks to be very much team players but in ESO just run off and other stunts now. C'mon man you played other games. You are DUMBING DOWN a great game
@@zedorian6547 Removing Healers essentially disposes of teamwork and promoting SOLO too much. I do think Trials help this issue....so to be fair.... What REALLY destroys old meta were the queues and being a programmer this CERTAINLY can be fixed. Why people fake roles should have been addressed, queues cannot be more than 5 minutes, period. The people faking roles not bad, but why they do it is THE problem.
@@SovereignTroll id say that is fair. Im still relatively new to the game as I’ve had ffxiv as my main game for the last several years and eso has just pushed ffxiv out of that spot recently so im not too familiar with all of the past metas and what not.
I miss the holy trinity but eso is sorta be anything and do anything it’s just a mess. Pug groups are the worst people say their a tank role but are trying to dps with no tanking abilities it really leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Or when somebody takes healer role and has like 1 heal skill. So for new players it’s pretty bad

I am approaching my 1 year anniversary, and I have only been a Nightblade and love it. Someday I might try another class.
I've played for 3 years and still only use 1 warden. . Meh keeps it simple
5 year magsorc
Night blades are awesome

Perhaps the biggest trap in ESO is the loot crate system.

Fallout 76 for 3 years HAHAHA WHY
76 is a joke
@Beekeeper Brad even if you dont like FO 76 it doesnt mean you have to put down other people who do/did enjoy the game.
