In my opinion, (I am not professional , but managed anxiety for 32 years), anxiety is the result of repressed sadness. When the unconscious represses sadness the result is anxiety.
Once the sadness can be brought into consciousness and grieved the anxiety goes away. EMDR therapy is quite good at treating this.

After 35 years of constant anxiety and hypervigilance I am now cured. I realised my mother was a borderline/covert narcissist. My dad abandoned me to her even though we all loved in the same house.

I have watched about 4 of your videos today and feel so much better mentally. wow! I would feel horrible around my family member but could not understand why, so I never acted on those feelings. When I began to get some data on narcissism - I then began to observe this person over a coarse of 7 years, comparing their behaviours to others, watching them when they didn't know they were being watched. I then finally made the decision to disconnected. I had too because I had become debilitatingly ill and my health would plummet at their presence. It was a question of survival for me. But yes, I did not simply make the decision based on my gut, I combined gut with knowledge, and when I did go no contact, I felt so much better. I seem to have become hypervigilant which is actually liberating to know, recovering from a man who constantly texted other woman, was never there, gave me no sympathy or emotional support when I was ill for three years, nor help with medical attention or nutrition. Feeling like I am going to die with no one there to help, having to mask my illness was extremely traumatizing. My nervous system finally returned back to normal when I began to get Reiki energy treatments on a daily basis. Before I could not feel normal even when isolated ...now at least I feel calm when isolated so there is an improvement, when I go out sometimes it does retrigger, I then do a Reiki Treatment and feel calm again. I am positive that over time I will heal since this that has been my pattern over the last three years, I struggled to walk at one stage, struggled to breath, emaciated etc etc devastating....but the fact that I have come this far is amazing. This video is actually very very helpful! I do catastrophize especially after my illness and neglect by my ex (yay, he is now my ex) . Just recognizing that I have hypervigilance and that I catastrophize and that I may not be perceiving reality at times is therapeutic.

I am terribly anxious and I can't describe why. It's usually around people lol. I prefer quiet spaces and mornings rather than evenings for getting things done. I'm getting better slowly but this has gone on since 2008. It can be very demoralizing and recently I've been getting rather down. Sucks man and proper annoying because I don't even understand it at all.

Oh, and my left eye was twitching for nearly 2 months! I used to tell my narc, jokingly, that he was the cause for the twitch. Little did I know... he actually was. 😢😢😢😢😢

I was infected by my mother, i have bone loss in my jaw bones from gritting teeth, im exhausted and just feel withdrawn constantly because of how she was as a kid. Im almost 39 and rarely see her, im still broken. I been talking to a woman international i rly want to see, im obsessing about the flight im considering taking. Im thinking about telling her i cant come, the stress is so overwhelming of just thinking about the flight id probable end up ruining the experience..

In my demise, I hope the police if they do a proper investigation, find that this is EXACTLY what is happening to me and I was driven further to end my wife’s dog and my own lives because of this, but also believe that something was going on that I could not quite figure out but the signs and gut feelings were too overwhelming to just ignore. I was in some elaborate or planned setup. Just because I am paranoid doesn’t mean they are not someone after me! Or I am more crazy then I thought. They were in my phone and I know it but don’t know if it was police, drug dealers I got mixed up with or both and driven over the edge I have now ended up.

Hello. Question. What about intuition and gut feelings during the time you meet someone when young (teens)? Is intuition and gut feelings still there or do years of experience increase gut feelings? Could this explain why people get stuck in relationships for years only to realize later in years that something is not right through gut feelings and intuition as the first step to analyzing what is wrong with the relationship?

With this point of view, it looks like the concept of a HSP(Highly Sensitive Person) is just an excuse for different forms of anxiety.
Is it so or being HSP can be an exception as per the research of Dr Elaine Aron ?

    • @samvaknin
      @samvaknin  4 місяці тому

Some people are HSPs, but most definitely not 20% of the population. Not even a tiny fraction of that.

    • @DP00001

      @@samvaknin Thanks for writing !
But how can one absolutely identify being an HSP?
Is their any scientifically established diagnosis?
If not, what should I choose -
to accept various forms of anxiety as an integral inherent part of HSP which one can't overcome due to genetics and try to limit my personality
      OR
to try work towards conquering it with the help of therapy etc ?
