I love how this episode was an interview/review. I watched it twice to really take it all in. It was great getting to have a deep dive on you & the development of this series. I can think of no better way to showcase the end of your loose run than to share the full story of The Padawan Collector. I've had so much fun following your journey, seeing how your collection developed, and especially learning so much about a hobby I thought I knew everything about. This series has been a true stand-out. Hard to believe that in just 14 months you've accomplished the monumental run. And that the channel (and community) has only gotten better with each episode. I hope that this endeavor never becomes a chore and that the magic always remains for you Joey. I love & admire your passion & that you're able to put your talents & interest into a show like this. It's truly a joy. I'm looking forward not only to seeing part 2, but all the great things that come next.
Thanks for the kind words Mopar and thank you for being one of the people here from the beginning :). It’s great to see comments from you and seeing you give your takes on all of these topics my friend. It’s something I look forward to. And thank you for being a channel members! That’s means a great deal to me! Thanks for watching my friend.
You're such a genuine guy Joe. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart in allowing me to see your collecting journey from start to finish. Here's to the next collecting journey...
Great Joey! This one is for all friends gained and friends lost. This is for everyone that started this goal but couldn’t finish either by choice or not. Amazing to think how many memories, how many different collectors and history your set now holds. I have a similar path to you, from enjoying research to COVID inspiration. You are a Jedi now. We all keep the force alive through our passion. “To be Jedi is to face the truth, and choose. Give off light, or darkness, Padawan. Be a candle, or the night.”
Hey stren that’s a great quote and sums up this journey for sure! Thanks for being a great friend of the channel from the beginning and I’m honored to have you watching. I hope to see you on the next journey my friend. Take care
This is a must watch for anyone who has been following Joey's amazing journey! Joey thank you so much for sharing your passion, your incredible research, you are the research king! and of course your love of star wars. I have learned an awful lot watching each of your episodes. They way you present yourself makes each show extremely fun to watch and a real escape from reality during these difficult times. Congratulations on an amazing journey and your accomplishment my friend and here's to the next adventure!...beautiful Lexi will be smiling. God bless 🙂
Awww Lexi. We miss her every day. Thanks for being a part of this journey and yes, this has been a great escape from the everyday life and the world around us. I hope we can keep it fun :). Thanks for watching my friend and MTFBWY
Just wanted to thank you for videoing your journey. It’s always more than just the item. As you said it’s about the journey. The meeting of like minded people. Who share and help anyone along. I look forward to part 2 and your next journey. Thanks again Padawan Collector.
Following your journey has been fun. The hobby at its heart is joyous one. Set your own goals (mine was just the original 12 for space and budget reasons). Ignore the toxicity of those that have forgotten these are toys not investment vehicles. Buy beaters if you’re budget’s tight. Upgrade when finances allow. Keep it fun because that’s what childhood toys should be.
Spoken like a true Jedi knight and PURE collector, not for the money value, but the nostalgia value. Well said and I agree with you 1000%. Thanks for your comment my friend and for watching
Joey is the realist!! Your passion and genuineness has shined through on each episode. Every vintage figure you bought feels like you bought it for us too! Thanks man for the content and sharing your journey with us.. love the channel!! 💎🌊🌊
This channel has been a Gift! Thank you Joey. Thanks for documenting your collecting journey and sharing it with us all. The Padawan Collector has been a masterful mix of entertainment, encouragement and information. Your commitment has paid off and I congratulate you on reaching this incredible goal. It’s been a joy to follow you on the adventure and I look forward to celebrating the moment you place the final figure in your case.
Hey SteveO! Thank you for the kind words my friend! I think your energy has rubbed off on me because I have always been a fan of the positive energy you bring to your channel, how you involve your family and friends in your collection journey, and the positive vibe you keep with your content. I hope you can join me for the next adventure :).
You can take this path and research to new heights. Reminds me of the group of guys I heard about in the 90s that found all the old Kenner employees, researched their stories, saved forgotten artifacts, prototypes and secrets. Your passion has improved the community and will always live on in the force no matter where you go
Thanks stren! Ah man I would have loved to be a part of that group! It’s like an archeologist!!!! Haha. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment my friend :)
Thanks for this episode, this one was really great. How you shared some of your personal hurdles in life was amazing! What a great story. Your truly an inspiration to us all my friend. You will never know how much more you impacted our lives, outside of your own journey. For me personally Star Wars, and these figures mean so much more. As a child I came from a home that was really toxic. My father had anger issues, and with that I was unfortunately his personal punching bag for my entire child hood. These figures, and Star Wars was the way for me to escape from it all. No matter how many bruises or fractured bones I had at any given time I could imagine another world when I held them in my hands. I could retreat to any of the known parts of the Star Wars galaxy. Even if it was for a short time. My friends at that age were far a few between because of my circumstance. Now that I'm grown I started to re collect some of the figures that I knew as a child because of what they meant to me growing up. It's truly therapeutic. It really is. Thank you!
Hey Dallas, thanks for sharing that with me. I'm sorry you had to go through that as a child and I can olny imagine how much those toys meant to you as an escape and how they offered mental protection for you. I'm glad you can still use this hobby as a way to escape and find joy in life. Star Wars means so much to us beyond the movies, and now In this community, you arent alone brother. Take care and play with those toys!
Bravo Joey!!! I've loved all of your episodes and watching your journey. You are no longer a Palawan. I'd call you a Jedi Knight now. You'd be the person I would first go to now if I started collecting the Original figures. So thank-you for doing this, you should be proud and what a great thing to look back on later on.
Thank YOU David for being a part of this journey and being a member of this channel! That means a lot to me and to have you watching each week. Once a Padawan always a Padawan. Especially with the new road ahead :) thank you my friend
Great video. Joey -you truly have been an inspiration. So glad we met when we did and to have shared this journey with you. From my end, you have become a friend through this endeavor and I hope the feeling is mutual. This video series has been one of many milestones in your task of completing the original Kenner run and it’s a testament that will now last for all time with it being on UA-cam. Any future collectors will watch this series and learn from what you have done here. So for all of them and all of us who went along on this journey, I thank you. It’s truly been a pleasure and an honor to watch and join in as you worked through all of this. may the force be with you, my friend -and yeah, Friends in The Force forever!
Hey John! You have been a true friend and a person I go to for advice not only on the figures, but you helped me get used to this whole “UA-cam” thing lol. Thanks for being a friend thru all this brother. I can’t wait to see your documentary on the vintage figures!
Joe, what a great video!! I love how you got started, and how you took this whole collecting experience!!! To showing us what you created to help us in the collecting world, and to what it took to attain what you have done. I'm still in the process of my lose collection, but your videos and info are not only helping but inspiring to me. One day I will have my complete set, as I wanted as a kid myself!! Thanks again!! Keep the videos coming.. Remember, the ships are next..lol
Hey Andy! You know what..,,, I wish that I could go back and collect all the loose ALL over again. That was such a fun experience for me and I learned so much. But YES next are the ships and vehicles and I have got a fantastic run planned 🙌🏼
Thanks G! I’ve had the time of my life doing this and it’s the community that’s made it so fun. Thanks for watching my friend and may the force be with you
Awesome part 1 thank you for sharing your journey with us. I have learned so much from your videos but the thing i have enjoyed the most is the passion and sincerity you have.
Thank you JD! It was awesome getting to meet you in Nashville and I hope we can get together again and go on a hunt this time :). Thanks for watching and being a part of the Academy my friend
I've only been watch for a short time and I'm very impressed how much of a student of the game u are at this. Not everyone can or will take the time like u do to study and learn the craft of what it takes to be a collector.
I'm not crying, you are. (I need some bourbon to steady my nerves.😄) It's been a great journey. Thank you very much for sharing your experiences, both good and bad with us. It would have been easy to edit out the mistakes, but you stayed true and used your mistakes to teach. The highlight of the journey for me is strictly selfish: it was awesome getting to meet you in Nashville and talking about your journey. Can't wait for Part 2. (Can you look forward to something AND dread the end, at the same time??) Take care and thanks again, friend.
Thanks for being a huge part of the journey my friend. You may see some familiar items in the next coming episodes! It was an honor to meet you in Nashville and I hope our paths cross again my friend. I really enjoyed our conversation. I hope to see you in the next journey :). Take care my friend
I just want to say that the Collection is incredible. I really like the Display Case, it's awesome. I'm an avid Card Collector myself, so I can relate to and respect the hard work and dedication that went into your Collection. Totally awesome and Hats off to you!
Thanks cardphins! It’s was a lot of work but so much fun :). What type of cards do you collect? Thanks for watching my friend and I hope to see you on my next series!
@@thepadawancollectorofficial It really must have been a "Labor of Love" and you crushed it! I collect Sports Cards, been collecting since 1977. Baseball, Football, Hoop, and a little Hockey. I've also gotten into Soccer Cards and have enjoyed building that area up. My Rule is that I do it for the love of the Hobby, not Money. I'll hit subscribe and watch your stuff, it is a privilege for me! When I saw your Display with those figures my Jaw dropped!
This video was amazing. When I asked you at ICCC what was your approach into your channel, this is exactly what I wanted to know. The episode about made we want to cry, it almost feels like a goodbye, even though it isn’t. Meeting you and talking to you on here, FB, or ICCC just makes this friendship more tangible, and definitely more invested. You have a friend here for life, from someone who has followed you from episode 1 till forever. Love You Man!!!!
Thanks Rocket City! It was a pleasure meeting you in person my friend and I can’t wait for more journeys! Thanks for being a part of the journey and being a friend!
Hi Joey, another fantastic episode. I love the interview style format explaining how you began your collection and got to where you are now. I just want to say thank you because you've brought back some great memories for me. My first Star Wars figures were bought for me by my grandad in about 1978/79 (Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker). I didn't even know they existed until he just turned up with them. He also put the last few pounds towards my Palitoy Death Star playset as I only had about £7 and it cost £10. These are just some of the memories I'd long forgotten but all came back when watching your journey. Grandad passed away at the end 2021 aged 98
I’m sorry for your loss my friend, but sounds like he lived a full long life. I’m glad you are enjoying the series and I’m glad that it was useful for you in your own journey :). MTFBWY and thanks for watching!
Joey, holy cow man. I love how you are ending the segment of the journey. *The Feels*. But that is how it has felt throughout, sitting down and watch a friend go on the amazing journey.I have enjoyed every minute. The heart that you have put into this shows is what draws people to you. Thank you for inviting us all in to experience it with you. I hate when things end and is why I have waited so long to watch the last couple of episodes , but I realize every time is that we are not saying goodbye, but hello to the next chapter. I look forward to many more amazing journeys that you will share with us my friend. Thank you from the bottom of my heart because sometimes just spending some time to watch, has been what I've needed to get out of some sad times. So again thank you from my whole heart. MTFBWYA
I’m very honored by your words Jorge! It has been an amazing journey and I’m glad you have been there in this journey with me to share the experience and make it even more fun. The next chapter will be starting soon and I’m hoping I will see you there for it! Thanks for watching my friend
Hey Joey. I really enjoyed this video. Your passion is clearly visible. It was a lot of fun joining you on this journey. It brought back a lot of childhood memories for me.
Thank you for putting your figures in sequence. There is only one correct order for the figures, and this is it. I did the same. Congrats on finishing!
Thanks 720! I love history, so I really wanted to list them in the historical order thst these were released. I know others like to do it different, but this satisfies me. That’s rad you did the same! Thanks for watching my friend
Awesome Joey. Just want to thank you for your videos each week. I’ve been watching since day 1. And your videos and interactions each week make my week. So thank you so much Joey. And can’t wait for the box opening next week. It’s going to be emotional 🥹. Take care dude. And hope your week is going well 🤘
Hey XDD! Next week is going to be epic! And thanks for the kind words :). It has been an honor having you watch every week and it’s been an honor to read what you have to say about each topic. I hope to see you on the next series as well.
Great overview of the run. It’s been a pleasure watching along and finding inspiration as I document my own run. Thank you for keeping at it so diligently. As a wise one once said: “to teach is to learn” and through sharing what you have learned you have found a much deeper connection with so many like minded friends and fans of the franchise but more importantly something in the human spirit no matter what we believe or consider important we are all one in our love and dedication to the fantastic world of Star Wars. Never stop seeking. The force is strong with this one. That next box is being shipped! Can’t wait to see what’s inside brother.
Thanks Cool! Very well said. I’m glad you got enjoyment out of the series brother. I have learned a lot from you and really dig your channel. Thanks for coming along the journey and I hope to see you on the next wave :)
Thank you for being who you are! So very well spoken and created... Nostalgia plays a part in our growing and moving forward in life, but not everyone makes the needed connections... Look forward to part 2
Thank you Sam! This has been and fun journey and I’m glad you have been a huge part of it! Thanks for taking the time to write and to watch the videos, my friend :)
I have no clue how I stumbled upon your channel when it was your first episode but I’m glad I did. What a journey hopefully I’ll run into you at one of these conventions and be able to thank you in person for the great content
Hey chenzo! I’m glad you are enjoying the episodes! That’s awesome you are getting back into it. You should join the Padawan Academy on FB to let us keep up to date on your progress! Thanks for watching my friend
Great part 1 to finish the run Joey! Looking forward to that part 2, must admit I had doubts you can complete an entire loose run in a year but you made it! And then, boxed vehicles, playsets, MOC of all types, plus modern, this journey never really ends dude! Great interview style editing too, loved it!
Thanks Kev! It was a marathon, but it was a fun one and I learned a ton! Thanks for being a part of the journey and I’ll hope to see you on the next one :).
Just watched your episode. Very heartwarming.. I started the journey myself earlier in the month, you have given me inspiration for a passion I've had, but have not expressed. My wife bought me a collector case from Collector Display for Xmas and waiting to get it. We live in Massachusetts and will take a while. I look forward to watching your videos to learn more about the hobby, which has been invaluable knowledge. Thanks for your openness and love for this hobby...
Thanks for the kind words Anthony 😊. I’m glad you get to reconnect with these figures and I hope the episodes help! Good luck with your journey and I hope it’s a fun one. You are going to love your case! Thanks for watching and taking the time to write.
Hey Pete! Honored to have you a part of the journey from the beginning! Thanks for sticking with me and watching! I hope to see you on the next journey!
I have loved this journey, Joey. Thank you! You are amazing. It's been such a great narrative to follow. I can't tell you how much it has meant to me. x
Hey Matt! Thanks for the kind words! The next series starts in a couple weeks so we go deeper into vintage collecting with grading, MOC, playsets, vehicles, and the topps cards. So much more to explore. Thanks for watching!
Joey, you've completed a masterpiece! I don't know why I was so lucky to have YT recommend your channel to me last year, but it's been one of the highlights of my week for over a year straight. I started working on completing my childhood collection last year as well, so it was really fun for me to see your collection growing as mine was, too. You've made a huge impact on the collecting community. I wish you continued success in your future collections! I'll definitely be watching.
Thanks HS! And thanks for being an OG on this journey! It’s been challenging but fun and the community made it all the more fun :). I hope to see you on the next journey and I’ll be keeping tabs on your journey as well :).
Joey !! That interview with yourself was amazing !!! Your whole channel is amazing ! I have been blessed to find and start following your journey when it was at a early stage - it has been nothing short of amazing and the quality of your shows shines through. So your collection is finished well done my friend - I remember when the day when I stopped buying Star Wars toys - sorry if I told this one before - so I said to my mum lol m stopping and at the next car boot sale I’m gonna sell all my star wars toys so I could buy a portable B n W tv 📺 for my bedroom - couple of days later we are in Woolworths which was the main shop I used to buy my Star Wars toys ! And what do you want see the figure that alluded me for years Luke X wing pilot- don’t know why but it was a rare figure in the Uk 🇬🇧 I couldn’t find one anywhere and it was one of the few I didn’t have - I stared and stared .. to buy or not to buy … in the end I walked away - I’m a big boy now 😢
Thanks Ashley! Ah when you mentioned Woolworths that brought back memories! Wish I could go back and just walk through those isles again lol. Thanks for following the journey all this time and I hope you can be a part of the next series :). Take care my friend!
Joey here is some wisdom you might or might not enjoy but I hope you do. " Don't be sad because it is over be happy because it happened" and " the journey never ends it just changes course.". Maybe collect those 5 supergrails you mentioned or more MOCs. I just started making a Lego run of the first 96 just as a fun side project. So many fun directions you can go. I have been doing this over 25 years and I have discovered if you look for new ways to collect you will find them. Cheers and Congrats on the completion of this part of your journey
Well said Kris! Journeys are always meant to end, or else you get the walking dead. Literally. Thanks for the words and for taking the time to remind all of us on those points. I hope to see you on the next journey and thank you for watching my friend
@@thepadawancollectorofficial come to a show sometime in Dallas and I will show you around. I have lots of fun stories and documented my journey on paper so I can tell it some day
Dude I was kinda tearing 😢 up a bit... the journey wasn't just yours it was our journey with you also 🤜🤛 its definitely been a fantastic trip. Thank you and "Let's keep going" 💪🤓
Hey Deano! You have been a huge part of the journey and really showed me the ropes of all this when I started! Thanks for being there brother! Geek Strong!
This is great. Just found you. I had started a collection back in 2013. Due to finances, I was forced to part with it. Then like you, as the pandemic started I was thinking what if? I just finished all of my vintage 3.75 this year. Have all ships and playsets, minus some power of the force (didn't have that line as a kid so no nestolga) it was a blast doing. This is great and so much fun seeing the parallels to myself. Great show thanks for doing it.
Hey Chris! That’s awesome that you were able to collect them all AND get the vehicles and playsets! If you aren’t on the Padawan Academy on Facebook, you should join! I would love to see your collection! Thanks for watching my friend and I hope to see you on the next journey
Great channel, ive followed along since about spring time and inspired me to get my collection completed too. I went for beaters and reproduction accessories, and makes a great looking display. Thanks for all the info along the way
Hey Donny! I’m glad that you had fun collecting with me! It’s always better to have friends along the way. Thanks for watching and being a part of the journey and I hope to see you on the next series
Congrats on getting your collection done, and to do it in the time you did is impressive. Some of those figures are hard to find complete. It took me over 15 years to finish my loose collection.
Hey Jeff! Wow you must have got some great prices compared to today to finish your collection? That’s awesome. Thanks for watching the journey and I hope you can join me for the next one!
@@thepadawancollectorofficial Early on I got some good prices as a lot of the commons were pretty cheap complete, and was lucky to get most of the original 12 in my first few years of collecting. Sadly did not really plan it out well, so had some heavy hitters from the last 17 near the end. Probably should have approached it more like you did, and mix those in a bit more.
It’s been fun following your journey collecting these great vintage figures! Can’t wait to see what journey you’ll choose to go on next… maybe funkos? Lol. Great video Joey! MTFBWY my friend!
Funkos are awesome!!! Haha!! I would go mad collecting them all but they are awesome! Thanks SSW :). I hope to see you in the next journey my friend! Thanks for watching
Congrats Joey! Been following since the beginning. Watched every single video and loved them all. You're a great example of the fun that collecting is. It was nice to meet you at ICCC, and hope to see you there again! Growing up, I collected Star Wars with a friend named Joey. So that was another cool thing that took me back watching your vids. Cause I don't think I've met another Joey besides you, although I'm sure they are out there. Can't wait to catch that last unboxing! MTFBWY! Chris (the R2 guy)...
Hey Chris!!! I hope we get to meet again at ICCC! That was a lot of fun!!! Thanks for being an OG of the channel and I hope I see you on the journey :).
So I about your age, love you channel, not into the original Star Wars but completed the Hasbro WWF collection in around a year. It was amazing and sad when it was done.
Hey Riot! Haha gotta love that mirror! I had my producer and my camera person there. not quite a mirror but does a TV monitor count? Thanks for watching my friend
"Rad!?" Skateboarder dude at one point, were we? Great video Joey a great end to an inventive and informative series...did I say end? There is always more to go at until you get to Steve Sansweets level and even then there's something else, some obscure curiosity you'd never heard about! Maybe you'll eventually be able to get That, but then the seller asks "Did you hear about the weird figures they did in Guam?" or somewhere, and you're off again! There's no end to it and I think that's a good thing. Frustrating, but good! ...And if you accidentally become immortal, there's GI Joe! I think they did about a thousand different figures...good luck with that one! See you next time!😂👍👍👍
Great episode and great production value in your work. I suspected you had a background in video. I have some background too but for me I just opted for my iphone and minimal editing with imovie. I said to myself if it gets to be so much trouble for me that I don't do it then what's the point? But your content is really good, and you're connecting with more people. Hope you can find new stories to tell with the hobby and your journey!
Hey one time! Yea I’ve been doing it for so long that it takes me hours what takes most people days. I’ve been doing it since I was 18 so. Ire than half my life. It’s still fun for me though :). I hope you can join me on the next journey! Thanks for watching my friend
The facebook groups can be rough, even the card groups got real uppity towards new collectors during the "global sh*t show". Way to go on achieving your goal, i can only imagine the cost, especially when you start chasing key figures like luke and lea c3po.
Hey Darth! Eventually, yes. I won’t start that until the end of 2023, or 2024 though. I still have so much in the original Kenner line to do before those. But when I do they will get their own mini display for sure. Thanks for watching my friend
Hey Adam! Sorry this episode isn’t for you. This is the end of a 102 episode series. So I would watch episode 1 and get here. Then the story makes more sense. Thanks for watching my friend
@@thepadawancollectorofficial Professional show writers and directors will create a piece that "recaps" the previous episodes in such a way that it helps give context to new viewers. This way, someone like myself, a NEW viewer who "was" interested in seeing the figures could've seen the collection while you could've finished your "journey" by talking more about yourself. See? Everybody wins. I write programming (don't believe me if you don't want to), and this is how we would handle it.

I gotta say i'm amazed at the quality of each video. Already looking forward to part 2. Congrats and many thanks for making such a great channel.
Thanks G! I’ve had the time of my life doing this and it’s the community that’s made it so fun. Thanks for watching my friend and may the force be with you
Cool back story Joey. Thank you for taking us along on your journey!
Thanks GFORCE and thanks for being an awesome member of the collecting community my friend. It’s never a party without GForce :)
Hey Bluckers! Being a student of collecting is the funnest part of the journey for me. I’m glad you appreciate that! Thanks for watching my friend
Congratulations. An interesting journey. Everyone’s road is different and you never know the twists and turns along the way. Well done you.
Thank you very much Zarnista! It was a fun journey and I had fun doing it. Thanks for being a part of it and I hope to see you on the next one :)
Great video Joey, thanks for sharing your journey with us. What a ride Bro!. 🙏👊👍🔥
Thanks for being a part of the journey Mark! And thanks for watching my friend! MTFBWY
And it literally started with me clicking on your video. I love this series so much and would love to show you my collection one day
Hey Benedict! You can always join the Padawan Academy on Facebook and show us all your collection! Thanks for watching my friend
Hey Paul, that really means a lot to me and I’m honored to have you watching! Now it’s on to playsets!

That would be rad to hang out in person Bill! I am going to the ICCC, celebration, and comic con San Diego this year so hopefully one of those?
I've just recently got back into collecting these again. I was a kid when they came out, I'm now 53, so a long time ago. I've loved your vids man.
Hey chenzo! I’m glad you are enjoying the episodes! That’s awesome you are getting back into it. You should join the Padawan Academy on FB to let us keep up to date on your progress! Thanks for watching my friend

Thanks Garren!!! And thanks for those words that means a lot to me! The next series starts soon so I’ll hope to see you there :). Take care my friend
TY for all of this... trully inspired because of what you do.
Hey Mathew! Thank YOU for being a part of the journey and watching, my friend. I’m honored that you are enjoying the content!
Well done on completing your collecting journey - can't wait to see what the future holds for your channel!

Wow Joey! So amazing to watch this journey of yours and I'm almost a bit sad that its coming to a conclusion. Amazing work!
Very inspiring and I truly enjoyed and appreciated your channel 😊. Congratulations on completing your figure collection and I anticipate what is next.
Thank you starchild! Great name btw. It was an honor having you be a part of this journey and I’ll look for you on the next one!

Hey Deano! You have been a huge part of the journey and really showed me the ropes of all this when I started! Thanks for being there brother! Geek Strong!
@@thepadawancollectorofficial I learned a lot about the vintage figures from you including the bottoms of their feet. 💪😜

See you next time!😂👍👍👍
Yes I was a skateboarder!!! Haha. Thanks for watching Acro and I hope you can join me for the next series :).
