- Last week Topps announced the return of Topps Chrome Basketball and Football later this year, which will be unlicensed cards without team names and logos. I've been praising unlicensed products such as Leaf products as well as Panini baseball for years. It took them a few years, but now the entire hobby cavalcade of influencers and personalities have also proclaimed their love for unlicensed trading cards last week too!
Now that we all agree that unlicensed cards are cool, we should see the hobby's overall opinion on Leaf products shift very favorably and singles prices should began to rise....Oh wait, is it only unlicensed Topps cards they like? Let's have that discussion today while we rip a couple boxes of Leaf Metal Jumbo and Hobby Football. Enjoy!

I don't mind the lack of logos if the card designs are nice. The autograph opportunities these types of products offer outweigh the lack of logos.

I JUST cracked a 2024 Leaf Metal box,and I pulled a 1/1 Light Blue Crystals Armed and Dangerous Carson Beck Auto…a Jayden Daniels Purple Prismatic Auto 7/8…and a Jaxon Smith Njigba Anime Nation Auto one of 10…and one of my BASE cards was a Justin Herbert Silver Mojo one of 10. Not too shabby. I REALLY LOVE what Leaf has done with their cards lately. But that’s just my opinion. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!
Love the fact you put prices up!! Nobody does that and i think it should be done when making these videos!! You help a lot of people out by doing it !!
I usually like Leaf, but these boxes were pretty brutal 😅. I’m excited for the Topps Chrome sets, hope they hurt Panini to let go of the license sooner

I really like the creativity that Leaf brings to the hobby. I'm surprised that one of the big two hasn't bought them out. My only critique would be a better numbering system.
Another great vid RGL!! I enjoy unlicensed products, the issue I have is so many sticker autos throughout all the products! Onyx is good for mostly on card autos.
Seems like most people I've seen open these think the Jumbo box is the better deal for the
$$.
Although, haven't seen a very good box yet.

I've been loving leaf lately. Seen quite a few videos and when I went to my LCS the other day, I had to try out the last box of vivid. Nothing crazy but the card designs are great and I didn't get a bunch of crappy base cards that will sit on my shelf for the rest of my life 🤣 the chase for certain cards is great and it's hard to beat 5 autos in a box. Sick of panini and the fact that I can't get retail anywhere near me at cost

I appreciate any auto at a good value. I pulled Ohtani rate rookie card and would never give it up
I don't mind no logos at all, but no logos AND sticker autos. No thanks. Topps will likely be on card. HUGE difference.
I like leaf in terms of flipping prospects but the designs look horrible you know the topps chrome won’t look this bad
Idk, Topps has been a little too quick to use that sticker auto on all sorts of Chrome cards. However I totally agree with you, no logos and sticker autos look subpar. I don't mind one or the other tho, I've got several autos in my PC from unlicensed Panini but the on card signature more than makes up for it. I kinda like that over the licensed stuff but with the sticker auto. We need to boycott those stickers once and for all, just like we should have done when they started using store bought jerseys instead of game used and player worn materials.

Leaf makes a product thats hand packed to ensure all boxes get the proper amount of autos, charge a fair price, and have decent value.
The hobby "We dont like Leaf, the designs are bad and sticker autos are terrible, I'll stick with topps"

We are a brand driven society. So when there is a commonality such as no team logos between 2 sets, many will prefer the "bigger name". Its like buying knock off shoes, people want fake Yeezys over fake Asics

I think what's different is that the licensed products are priced so out of whack that you have less than 1% chance to even get your money back.

It’s topps, they have so much provenance that it’s different from other non licensed products
What I don't understand is why Leaf has better prices at sale than Wild Card. Imo WC looks better to me. But yeah, no logos, no problems

Great set, great ROI, just not huge cards… really good roi
I really like this product, even though I prefer licensed products. But this product is very different from Panini baseball in my opinion. This checklist is really good and gives you a shot at autos that you can't get in Panini products. Panini baseball checklists, especially recently, are very bad and you can get the same autos in Topps products.

Leaf is 100% the best value
The whole concept of "unlicensed" is silly to me. If you need to know your money is going into Owners' pockets in order to buy the cards fine, but if a player agrees to appear on the card and sits down to sign for them, that's "licensed" enough for me. Plus you pay less for them so that helps too if you're in it for the fun of chasing big autos.

People are brand snobs . They are ok with paying $1000 + for panini products where you can even get the top rookie autos lmao
A lot more people would like Leaf’s unlicensed products if most of their designs weren’t so ugly. Most of the designs in this set are just terrible and there’s way too much going on with the chrome and parallel effects

What's different? you said it man people just don't like leaf and their designs topps is actually desirable and inserts and parallels actually look decent, plus the fact that you can get guys that you couldn't with panini is another huge plus
