    Wonderful video highlighting the wilderness experience. I really like the overview in the beginning and your musical selection as well. In spite of the cloudy weather your video shows what the Winds are like at the higher elevations. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos. Thanks for sharing.

    Seems like you have the Winds all by yourself. What an EPIC trip for a strong and healthy hiker. The only down side for backpacking along is when something happen as you mentioned about the poor missing hiker. I visited the Winds last August but limit myself to overnight trips. Thanks for sharing.👍

      You are welcome, glad you enjoyed the video. The Winds are great! And yes, need to be extra prudent out there when backpacking alone + use satellite communication messenger with SOS. BTW, I love German Shepherds. Enjoy it out there!

      Thanks. The draw back for backpacking with my dog is river crossing is quite a challenge.@@TrailsOfWander

    I slept on spider lakes in 22' didn't make it over angel pass. Heading back this summer to finish the job. Hope to fish upper golden lake on the east side of the divide. I wish continued success on your journey 🙌

      Same here... I really want to go back and do some more hiking on the east side of the divide. Not sure I will be able this year. I hope next year. Good luck with your trip this summer. Enjoy the Winds!

    Excellent stuff. I was in the northern winds the week before your trip. Looks like we over lapped my last 2 days although my southern most point was still well north of your northern most point. I had great weather apart from the last 2 days 🤣. There’s a video on my channel if you’re interested. Enjoyed all your videos so far so great to see one near where I have been - and where I hope to be going in summer 2025

      @anselmocat I took a look at your video... You certainly put some work in it! Considering your itinerary, I would think the closest we could had been was when you were up to Summit Lake and I probably was in Titcomb Basin (my northern most point of my trip). A lot to hiking in the Winds. Always a great place to go back to. Pretty much any area in the range is great backpacking. Enjoy your hiking!

    Absolutely beautiful video, thank you for sharing! We're hoping to do this route this summer, but counter clockwise; which would you recommend? Thank you again for this very informative and beautiful work!

      You are welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video. In regards to the route I don't feel I would necessarily recommend one direction specifically. Obviously, the route to Angel Pass is cross country, so it is a bit more demanding than Lester Pass, but nothing major. Maybe it makes more sense to do it later in the itinerary if your body needs to adjust to elevation. But, I would also certainly factor in the weather forecast for the days you will be there. I would rather take Lester Pass on not-so-good-weather than I would Angel Pass. Have fun out there!

      @@TrailsOfWander thank you so much for taking your time to give me such a thoughtful reply ... We recently moved from Idaho and elevation doesn't bother me until 10k feet .. best wishes!

    Did you do any fishing when you were there?

    • @TrailsOfWander
      @TrailsOfWander 2 місяці тому

      No I did not, but I saw other hikers fishing at the Cook Lakes. Not sure about Wall or Spider Lakes as I did not see anybody there.
