Hi guys, I just recently stumbled across your website and am so excited to learn more! I would love to start selling wholesale products on Amazon. I noticed this video is a year old, do you guys recommend that I still follow the information that is in this video? I know this business changes often so I just wanted to make sure- or if there is another video I should look at?
Hi Will great video. Question that I am confused about. When you find a supplier do they ship the actual product to your house or to Amazon or Ebay..etc? You mentioned we do not have to touch actual products? Or are those just the sample products that are shipped? Thanks.
+vora Mai There are many answers to your question. Vora, you can ship the products to your house using a Chinese supplier from Alibaba. Is this safe? Of course, it adds more control to your business since you can tangibly see the product in your hands. I totally recommend this because you should ALWAYS check the quality of the product before you sell it to a consumer.
The other way you could do this is by drop shipping, which means the Chinese supplier will send their good (which is yours) to the customer when they purchase it from your listing. This may seem like less work, but you don't have much control and assurance, hence it's important to build a reputable business relationship with your supplier in order for this to come into fruition.
There's even Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) which I'm sure you've heard of. You can set this up so your supplier can send your goods to this 3rd party center where they will sell the good for you. In spite of them taking a % of the items sale.

Hey man, so let me just get this straight. If I am starting out in importing and selling my goods on eBay amazon etc... where should be i shipping my stuff to? Should I be shipping my goods to my house/FBA or get my own warehouse?
Which option would be the easiest and cheapest.

yes, Her Majesty's Royal Customs (HMRC for short), charges import duties and VAT upon entry of commercial merchandise to the UK

I'm none of these, I'm just an individual that wants to buy products and resell them. It asks for my company name too, and I don't have a company. Any advice/ideas from alibaba users? Thanks."

yes, provided you have authority to do so. US Customs usually asks for these agreements between trademark holder and importer

Ron H have you ever done this form of ra? Your profit margins have to be bigger than just a dollar unless your liquidating and you get them for cents. There are many other fees and I doubt they made money off any of the products they purchased. Also, majority of " the stuff at the end of the aisle" are clearance throughout the country which means there is not a big market for them and amazon is already flooded. I just think its a misleading video, the start up bros say it themselves ( read new comments)

david k Yeah David, putting up those videos has taught us a lot. Honestly we are complete amateurs when it comes to Retail Arbitrage, we aren't too proud to admit it. :p The only reason we made those other "the Bros go shopping at Walmart" videos was because a few of our clients asked us to. They have been having success using RA and thought it would be good to introduce the general concept.
We've caught a lot of flak since then and we promise--from now on we'll stick to eCommerce, importing, and taking companies public.
