Josh Sheehan entered the history books alongside the likes of Evel Knievel with the world's first triple backflip on a motorcycle. After over a year of preparation, the trick went down on April 28, 2015, at Pastranaland.

I remember the night I saw the first back flipped ever pulled in competition. I watched it 100 times. My jaw fell to the floor. THIS is so absolute incredible. The risk of death or being paralyzed it ridiculously high. Have any of you ever done a back flip into a foam pit?? It's no picnic. It's still Gnarly. Two is pretty nuts... THREE!?!? F*cking Bananas

Josh had been practicing this jump for months onto a big air bag. I went t to Maryland. In November and he was looking like he could land it then. Way to Josh. Definitely a legend in my book

Rusty Shackleford air awareness. If you've ever done a double backflip on a trampoline or into a pool, you'll know that you don't have to see where are you are to know where you are. You "feel" it.

I still remember when Travis Pastrana did double at X-Games in 2006. I was like 12. I freaked out. I haven't checked on FMX in like 5 years or so and now I come back and see a double frontflip and a triple backflip. Real life is turning into a video game! O_O

Josh and Travis are without a doubt the best the world has ever seen! I've been watching Travis ride ever since he went pro and he never ceases to amaze me. I've seen videos of him when he was a kid on a little 80 doing things that most professional 125 and 250 riders would never dream of doing! I can honestly say that both Travis and Josh are two of my heroes! I've been riding dirt bikes since I was about 8 years old and there is no way in hell I would ever dream of trying anything did these guys pull off. Josh and Travis I hope you read this and know that you are a true inspiration to so many people all around the world! I would love to come and ride at Travis land butt in all honesty I would kind of be embarrassed because I am extremely amateur compared to what you can do. The last time I went out on my dirt bike was when I first bought my brand new bike and went out riding with a buddy and ended up eating shit at about 40 miles an hour jumping a whoop section and came up short and cased it hard and got bounced head first into a fence and messed up my left hand and my left knee and my shoulder and had to have my left knee drained with an 18 gauge needle. I haven't tried doing jumps since then but I still bring my bike out and terrorize the neighborhood now and then. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching you guys ride and seeing the incredibly insane things you come up with and I look forward to seeing what you lunatics come up with next! Though it's going to be damn near impossible to top a triple backflip! Who knows, maybe Sheehan can add a half twist in there hahaha! Keep it up guys! You are amazing!

Wont Happen... i LOVE freestyle motorcross, Been watching my entire life. But This is pushing the absolute limit of FMX or any sport for that matter. Anything more then this would be literal Suicide, you would have to launch over 100' into the air, just the sheer drop from that high would break the Bike. One fall would equal death. Not injury... im talking instant death. would be equivalent to a 6 story drop onto a dirt pile, Dead or paraplegic at best... i would not want to even see them attempt it. Its getting to the point where you begin to question the overall point of putting yourself and life on the line to land one trick. Put your family, friends and loved ones through that is insane. But hella props for the triple. Some people are more then mortal men... haha
I was looking into the science behind it and a few different studies showed that a person won't be able to get enough rotation to do more than 4 plus the higher you go the more likely the human body won't be able to withstand the forces involved... You'd have to be connected to the bike and it would need to be made to do the rotation and the person would just have to hold on for dear life¡! Basically it would be like the truck flip into snow or like the kicker ramps in this vid.... Except way, way bigger and going ALOT faster. I totally agree w/ you on that... NEVER BEEN DONE AND NEVER WILL BE¡! Good Luck to whoever tries but it loses its meaning when it takes a special ramp and a special bike, Also a special human, under specific circumstances just to do one trick.

MattSk8s39 as much as that seems to be next, physics can only allow these guys to do so much. more rotation=more air time. gravity does not go well with humans falling. I do believe it's possible, but how far can it really go?! the human body and mind is incredible, when used the right way.

Biggest action sports trick ever. No one will ever do 4 flips on a dirt bike like this without some kind of technological help to speed up the rotations, to keep the height lower, and something to spot your landing and slow you down automatically. With a basic dirt bike, like was done with this triple, you would be dropping out of the sky from 100+ feet and even if you landed it, you would be crushed. Josh reached the physical limits on today's technology. Absolutely amazing accomplishment.

I absolutely respect Travis for saying "Evel Knievel AND Mat Hoffman". Definitely an accurate statement. I'm ex BMX from the late '90's, and Mat Hoffman was God to us. He just went bigger than anyone. And we can't forget Seth. That EPIC 200+ wipeout at Dumont was the ember that started FMX wildfire as we know it, so I have to give credit where due. That wreck was the reason every single old Crusty VHS tape got completely worn out and copied to oblivion. That's the Holy Trinity of 2 wheel sports.
