Russia knew about this a LONG time ago. Remember the phone call to Lloyd Austin? Russia made sure that they had their ambush specialists (e,g, Akhmat Brigade) pre-positioned, and you can clearly see that they also had materials pre-positioned to fortify the Kursk NPP. Why didn't they fortify in advance? Continuous US / Western satellite surveillance would have seen this, and alerted Ukraine to the fact that Russia was prepared. Also, notice how Russia has concentrated on destroying hardware rather than soldiers? A major opportunity to quickly degrade what is left of Ukraine's dwindling resources - whilst mopping up the infantry at a speed that suits Russia.

Turns out that the US's "claims" to have known nothing about the incursion were lies (as always), and it also turns out that Russia was well prepared. Look at the loss of equipment, and whilst you are at it, look at the number of Ukrainians surrendering. Operationally and tactically a complete waste of scarce resources.

Thanks Danny for having different analysis personalities on your show. Pepe gives a very interesting perspective of the Kursk incident. My opinion is Kursk border security were caught off guard and will be addressed once it is resolved. Note how the best of the best troops Spetznaz/ are allocated there. Chechens/ Russian airborne/paratroopers/ for sure will be dealing with the Ukrainian/ nato forces there now.

I don't know if it's just me or if I don't understand the point of this "trap".
So, Ukraine is losing its best soldiers and equipment and didn't manage to get to the nuclear plant, and the Donetsk front is crumbling slowly, but in the meantime, they are advancing into Kursk.
I am not pro-Ukraine, but even if this was done on purpose, it still looks bad on the PR part, which is obvious, but not on the battleground.
