GREAT JOB! We're going to be hearing a great deal from this young man in the future. Never played Liverpool but I have played St. John the Divine, NYC and faced the usual challenges playing in a room that's more like a cave. But it is so much fun.
This organ is so beautiful I don't think one can really make a mistake on it. Love to hear some New Age kind of music with birds and/or wind, rain, frogs, thunder storms, etc. Thanks for sharing your heart with all of us out here in UA-cam Land. Have you considered bringing in color, light and the glories of Nature? Blessings.
Why so slow with the Intro Passa and Fugue. I felt my life ebbing away and gave up watching. If you take more than 15 mins. to play this there's something wrong. Remember there may be people sat on a pew with a numb arse waiting for you to get to get to the end.
The microphones pick the sound somewhat clearer than it sounds in the nave for real. This is an extremely reverberant cathedral. If you play too fast, the sound just becomes a huge thick tonal soup down the nave. Play too fast at your own peril here. As somebody who used to go to recitals in Liverpool Cathedral frequently when I lived in that part of the world, I think this is a very well judged performance for the acoustic conditions.
This is the 7th largest cathedral in the world, it's colossal. The organ is colossal, and the acoustics are colossal. If you were to play anything too fast, you would lose clarity.
I need to spend a day in the Cathedral. 80 so I need to organise myself! 😊😊

Have you experienced Gert von Hoef's improvisation?
No I haven't. Thanks. I'll try to give them a listen. @@jerrycallender7604
Even at this speed the arpeggios are being muffled...
5:47 Bwv 552 Prelude E-flat/Es dur
14:25 fugue
22:14 Haeley Willan introduction..
I felt that the base reed was overpowering the rest of the music.
My comment below was mainly in reference to the first ~15 minutes of the program.

The building has almost a 10 second reverberation, perhaps Sir Reginald could demonstrate his articulation for us
If you can do better post your own clip showing us you playing it within 15 mins !!!

@Richard Harrold Perhaps nerves got the better of the organist, it happens even to the very best. It's only human.
