I’m a support and am constantly telling my homie who is also a support. He just screaming! And we’re like where is he and he’s like here!!! And the cycle never stops then we lose 😭😭 I love It. Can’t wait to get off work and play some more
As a vanguard, you are the one who initiates the fight for the team. Keyword here is *team*. A tank soloing an entire team won't do much, even if you're a dive tank like Venom. But make sure that you are making problems for the enemies as well. No good Vanguard can be called good if they aren't causing issues within the enemy lines. Whether that's pestering healers so they can't help the rest of the team or denying things that could cause your team to lose the team fight like blocking ults, if the enemy isn't annoyed by you by the end of a match, you're not doing your job right. Remember, you are the backbone and head of the battle, the Duelists are the arms that swing for damage, and the Strategists are the legs that allow everyone to move. It's a team effort to win, so never go in alone
7:42 sometimes with Cap I won't even punch, I'll jump up and down near the healers like a madman to make it look like I'm being super aggressive, which breaks formation, they chase and I get away, grab health pack, return... if they don't take the bait, then I start punching
Great advice. Need to continue taking my tank game to the next level. Hulk, Groot and Magneto are my 3 most played Heroes and I want to control the battlefield every match. These tips certainly will help, thank you Friend 💙
The super Mario sunshine music is fire. Isn’t there also a psychological benefit to listening to music that brings back good memories while learning? Either way great tips.
The more you are aware of the order of operations, the easier games will be. Learn ALL of the heros. Practice for 30 minutes each atleast so you know whats attacking your team. Kill Loki diamonds then clones as soon as possible. Like your goal should be duke it out until you see him set up 2 clones, then go fight them until he puts up the diamonds then go for all 3 dimonds and then kill his clones. Stay between Dagger and her team to bait her cooldowns, turn to pressure any one other player (get a quick pick on mantis or adam or a brawling dps if you can) until shes back and then go back to kill Dagger before her cooldowns come back. Lower the amount of downtime you have without doing too much. Do the right damage to the right hero. Conserve your kit for its purpose AND use it as fast as possible. PAY ATTENTION to everything that is going on. YOUR KILLS ARE COMING RIGHT BACK, YOUR POWER PLAY IS ONLY 1 CONFRONTATION AWAY FROM BEING BACK IN THE FIGHT so get healed up and help someone get the next necessary elim that theyre working on. Oh yea, PRACTICE! learn how to use it. Like turn off cooldowns to learn combos. Find the exact timing for button presses. Find out how important a melee is to lots of combos. Find out what the practice room under your 3 allies in that main practice part does. Change keybinds to better serve your combos. I DRONE on combos over and over 100, 200 times in a row just to find all the fine spaces in movement and button presses. Some days it was more than half of my play time just to learn a few heros.
LEARN HOW TO PEEL! AND KITE BACK! Peeling is less of a focus when you do more, be more effective, and conserve your kit as necessary. To kite back is just being realistic when your teammate dies. If you don't have a solid 1 hit kill in the process of being hit, begin backing down so your team doesn't waste their remaining kit to try to save you/retain your health from 2 or 3 new additional heros shooting you
OH AND STAGGERING! A 5v6 is difficult to win. STOP GOING INTO LOS OR THE WHOLE MF FIGHT WITH 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 HEROS. WAIT FOR THE IDIOT AND PING/COM TO NOT RESTAGGER
Would’ve been great to have vod examples or even just ms paint as drawings to explain these terms and how exactly they’re executed Other than that though this video is super helpful 💯
Love just standing in front of the convoy as strange and spamming shield and daggers like YOOUUUU SHALL NOT PASS… while hulks just back there having his way and hoping out
For me.. when I play Cap my mindset is to identify as a problem for the other team… Thor I’m dominating map space and cutting off angles and doing big damage. With both of them I always circle back when I can to check on my healers. Nobody touches daddies healers.
Back in the Overwatch days, I noticed how crucial tanking was, yet people hardly chose them. I get it, dps can be the funnest role. But tanking is so rewarding when played right. I love the feeling of controlling the battlefield. I also love making squishies run away in fear.
Controlling space is often misunderstood. It’s actually everyone’s job, every sport or competitive game except for something like trivia is won by controlling space and whoever manipulates the space better wins way more often. There are still clutch moments and fringe cases where one person can snag a win even when they have low % chance of success but that’s what makes spectating them entertaining. In a game like this every character has to control space but they have large variations in how that’s accomplished. I just hope duelists and strategists don’t expect the tank to be the zone controller for a team. Everyone should study and practice controlling space and look at the map like a grid that can be controlled like a 3d chess board.
As a instalock vanguard (Mostly Strange/Magneto/Groot) my main issue that I'm working on is being too aggressive. Sometimes I push forward too much for my team to support me. I need to be aware of my team position more.
Groot is EXTREMELY good at at choke point control, for me personally that is. He walls create choke points, and it blacks visibility for the opponent while also doing damage is placed the right way.
Great video. And it has great replay value. You refered to Thor as a dive tank and Cap as a Brawl Tank. Id actually switch those 2 around. You have to be really cracked with Thor in order to play him as Dive and even then its iffy bc he doesnt have to Mobility speed or distance that Cap, Venom and Hulk has. And Cap can brawl but unless he has the Thor team up, he doesnt have tolhe damage output for it. He works better as a Dive. Get in, Get out.
The hard cuts between audio lines really makes it hard to keep up with whats being said. Let some level of pause between statements to allow room for comprehension. Everthing just kind of melted together.
I hate being a strategist in the back line getting attacked by everyone calling for help from the Vanguard and them just saying "oh but I'm dive" .... I wanna scream
Hey awesome video, what song did you use? The first one, I've been trying to find the name of that song since forever. Thanks again EDIT: I realized u were using super mario sunshine music. Finally found it, Bianco Hills. On a side note, ur tips are really good, explains the fundamentals of positioning and creating space well
Which tank would you recommended for a beginner? I have probably 15 hours on healers and 10 hours on dps but about 1 hour on tanks since i usually don't run them
They all have differences (in their kits) that require some "mastery", so I would just say "don't start with Cap or Hulk", cause those two feel like the ones that require the most amount of game knowledge. Also keep in mind Quickplay is not the place to practice Tanking, because half the time you won't even have Supports on the team. Also it really depends on what you mean by "recommend" - recommend to practice what this video talks about? Dr. Strange would be an amazing choice. But if by "recommend" you mean "a tank that I can quickly learn how to really be good at Tanking on" - there isn't such a tank. Or if you mean "A tank I won't die in 2 seconds on" - that might just be you playing Quickplay, instead of Ranked. But generally-speaking Magneto and Dr. Strange are the easiest Tanks to start with, but they too still require you understand how to use their kits effectively to actually be a decent Tank.
A great solution to the lack of voice chat is pinging problematic dps characters that keep getting kills and ping when an enemy gets behind the team. Make it a call for your tank.
There’s only so much as a tank you can do. But for me I like to bubble my teammates and displace BP with mag cannon. It’s better to be the one who notices him first and start trying to deal damage before he’s in your backline
@ it’s a lot of anticipation with Black Panther I would say 6/10 times I hit mag cannon. After a dash most BPs 180 and do that kick. It’s during that kick I like to interrupt him
By the sounds of it you're just holding Shield most of the time, which is not how you're supposed to use that ability at all. You only want to hold Shield to actually block something. And by actually block something I mean something that's actually threatening your backline like Hawkeye/Squirrel shots or w/e. And to keep yourself safe, if you're taking too much damage and to relieve some of the healing pressure on your own Supports. How do you peel on Strange? Just pay attention to the enemy divers, look around briefly from time to time. If you're not keeping close attention to most of the enemies you're not really playing Tank properly. You don't have to know where everyone is at every second of the match, but you do need to know where they are at major points of EVERY "fight". As an example if they have an enemy Psylocke you need to pay attention to what routes she takes and at what point is she in your backline. Tanks control the matches in Marvel Rivals. The typical Strange gameplay loop is: 1. On approach look where their team is. 2. Start wacking their tanks with left-click > quick melee to build up your E as fast a possible (and check if anyone on their team is out of position, so you can pressure them instead) 3. With E charged or close to charged you go in and harass their Supports with Left click > Quick Melee > E or at least try and hit them with a fully charged E. 4. Rinse and repeat. 5. Learn to utilize Ultimate properly and to E both their spirit and their body while they're separated (ulted). While you're doing all that sometimes you're not gonna be able to just go on their Supports and press E, sometimes you just gotta use it on the Tanks, but that's still good, because it helps with charging your Ultimate faster. Also if they have divers you need to just check from time to time when they go on your backline. Do they dive early? Then forget whacking their Tanks and just go back and whack the divers. Are they diving slightly late? Then instead of going to their Supports you can just go back and Peel with your charged E. An important note on that is sometimes it's better to just not peel and kill their supports, but that's ONLY if your supports can survive the dive, while you kill their supports. And vise versa - one of the most useless things you can do as Strange is go in and kill their backline while your own Supports are dying or have just died.
Tbh this was a good advice but the background music is so annoying and takes away from the video (I know it’s from overcooked and I hate it in that game too) but honestly it’s so repetitive and loud at times and it’s more distracting when trying to pay attention to what you’re saying
