Haha I'm trying! I really need to step up my note taking game, because I keep getting excited by results, and forgetting to document what happened on what day. Then I have to go back and look at old footage to reconstruct timelines. But yeah, attempting to take a more scientific approach to this, and hopefully find some cool ideas along the way!
Your videos are great! I'm trying to figure out which mushrooms to grow in my set-up (26L mono tub with liquid culture, wheat berries, coco coit) and climate (Pacific Northwest of Canada - Vancouver) and what time of the year etc. For instance, I've heard King Oysters prefer a bit of cold and can't be grown well in the summer and they prefer hardwood pellets but are ok in coco coit too. So confusing .... I'm new to this and don't want to invest in equipment to control the environment too much yet. Much appreciated and good job on the video content so far!
I came across a tek where someone placed shoebox tu s inside a monotub. They said this allows them to grow without needing any fanning or misting. Do you have any opinion on this?
Unlike the title suggested, this video did not tell me what mushrooms I can grow in a monotub. I want to grow king oysters mostly, maybe try some grey oysters. Is that possible in these?
I'm sorry if that was misleading. The series I started is called "Everything Monotub", so I'm still (verrrrrry slowly) working through all things that are monotub. At some point I'll cover different varieties that we can grow in monotubs. I've successfully grown pink oyster in a monotub and they did just fine, so I think that they kings should do just fine!
Haha, I know! I need to get snappin on this! I have the first video almost ready. Going to be looking at the equipment needed and various "levels" of entry into growing with a monotub. Should be out really soon! Love you brother!
You didnt list any species that you can grow in a monotub, yet the video title says "what kind of mushrooms can you go" So I didnt learn anything from this video, kinda useless
recommendations: -check out the monstrous yields in this video when they use spawn consisting of: whole grain rye berries and about 1 kg mixed (before wetting and pasturising) coir and vermiculite substrate Source in the comments (ua-cam.com/video/0CTtqRRGs1g/v-deo.html) -Substrate thickness is about 4 inches once mixed, venting is done via the holes in the monotub filled lightly with polyfil and a oscillating fan in the room keeping the air moving over the polyfilled holes on the stack of tubs, colonising temps in darkness 60-70f, fruiting in light and 70-80f. Dude, exactly what I'm going for! The coco/verm bulk substrate works pretty well, with easy to find ingredients. I'm going to do a bunch of grows with portobellos, which from what I hear grow in very similar conditions to the psilosybes shown in that video. I can't grow psilosybes because its not legal here, and I'm super public about who I am!
@@OneEarthMushrooms awesome looking forward to it! if you don't mind, I recommend not eating portobellos. I heard this from Paul Stamets, who's been a mycologist for many decades, and huge advocate of medicinal fungi and mycoremediation.
Jared, Brother, I would say start at a spore and work your way up (in segments) up to concentrates, you see I'm a white man, but grew up Rasta, since .... well ever since. So me eat only vegan, is just the way I grew up, so I cant dig people messing too much with nature, in fact, I hate anything man trie and manipulate, my friends always Lough saying this and that, why me don't wanna smoke DMT always blah blah.... SO since you asked I would like to see and do everything with medicinal mushrooms with as little interference by tricknology, seen? If you can do that it would be great, from spore to fruit with no synthetic extractions or foolishness like that, then me with you from now until we old, or passed on. Love & Peace [hope you catch my drift, yeah. BEAUTIFUL - GOOD.
i absolutely love the fact you're taking a more scientific approach to the entire process. cant wait for the whole journey! subscribed!

As it's getting colder how about doing a video on keeping a monotub at the optimum temp at the lowest price.
Added to my list!
It would be really Nice if you can show how to try on lions mane or turkey tail.
Hi Angel! I actually have a few videos out already with lions mane in a monotub, but I can definitely go more in depth with it!
tasty numbered videos! I wish everyone did so, there is an order to things and numbers def help

I don't fan or mist my monotubs at all, they work great!

This is the series introduction. Think of it as Episode 1 of the season...
How do you use a mono tub to fruit an all in one bag?

Just subscribed. Look forward to watching your channel grow.
Thank you! I hope it grows too! It's doing much better than I ever imagined it would, to the point where its difficult to keep up with!
Thanks! I really want to know more about this thanks!
Hope you find the series useful!
