- Sorry if I come across as a little cynical in this video, I wrote the review right after my first screening of Odd Taxi, it's an amazing anime but these are vibes it gave me.
I really hope you guys enjoy it anyway! it was really great working on this.

You nailed it with the money point! And also the friendship point. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it provided me with a new perspective on my already beloved show and on Odokawa. I just love how you have so many unique characters coming together to make a seemingly simple, yet profound narrative. And I agree with you, Tailor, Odd Taxi is also my pick for anime of the year. One of the best experiences I've had with media. I could immediately tell after the initial few episodes this one was different and when I watched the satisfying conclusion, I gave it a fat 10/10. I'm glad a good number of people got to enjoy it in a cramped season and that it wasn't completely ignored. I don't usually rewatch stuff a lot, but I have to say Odd Taxi is a record-breaker in my book since I rewatched it barely a month after it finished airing. Also can we take a moment to appreciate Odokawa's VA, Odokawa's voice instantly grabbed my attention upon hearing it. The same VA also voices Tanjiro from Demon Slayer which is mad.
I rarely talk about the voice acting and music but the sound design and acting was incredible in this anime I completely agree, really wonderful performances from everyone involved.
This is a really good analysis vid and deserves a lot more views & likes.
I really liked this video. You are really on to something. I am pleasesntly surprised that such a small UA-camr made such a great video on thr topic
I was wondering why people were friends with Odowara, but i guess they see how good he is under the surface.
I was gonna say that i think a lot of characters only want money as a means to an end to the thing they really value (e.g. gacha, eraser idol, a girlfriend, "honor"). I'm unsure how much the social media junkie cares about money, i like that he explicitly says you can judge a person's value by their social media clout, shortly before the bartender says money is how you judge a person. I hope Imai isn't going to end up ruining himself financially, Kakihana seems like an older version of him to me :I
I'm glad we mostly agree with each other, the show is clearly about money but I think its more so about the relationships that exist around money and value, I think that social media junkie cares about money more so than anything because when he stops his hunt he doesn't refund anyone and monetised his audience as soon as he can.
@@MeasuredTailor - the social media guy being unable to find a job and seemingly using social media instead or as a way to get a job also suggests he cares for money.
Tanaka is odd as he seems to realize the things he values aren't worth it but goes for them anyway
Personally, this is my anime of the year (so far). A close tie with Fruits Basket, but I think it takes the win.
I'm glad you enjoyed it as well!
