He was posted to the Far East, but knew about the slaughter of the RAF bomber (Blenheim) squadrons in the retreat to Dunkirk because, for some reason, the private letters to them were not censored. The huge death rate of these squadrons was kept out of the newspapers by Churchill fearing it would seriously affect morale. The footage is from the film Dunkirk. Two of the three Spitfires had been recently restored to fly both had all work paid for by a very rich American gentleman. Who made a couple of interesting stipulations. One aircraft was for his personal collection. The other was to be sold at open auction with almost all proceeds after sales fees donated to RAF and veterans charities. The one sold at Christie’s of London broke records for highest price of a Spitfire at auction. Both aircraft to be flown at flying displays for a full season by some of the best display pilots available. During that season the owners of the aircraft were approached about the possibility of using them as a part of the Dunkirk film. It was agreed with strict limitations. Only fully type certified pilots. No drilling holes in the aircraft or damage from equipment. So the camera aircraft was a Yak trainer with false exhaust manifolds and a close to authentic paint scheme. Both Spitfires shipped to the States after filming was completed. One final historical point one of the two restored Spitfires was actually shot down over the beaches of Dunkirk during the fighting as the troops were trapped on the Dunkirk beaches. The pilot crash landed. Survived and was a POW. Ironical that this aircraft had both its final combat flight and its final fight in European airspace over the beaches of Dunkirk. Almost eighty years apart.
Normally I would say about how there would be more spitfires and bf 109s and Heinkel 111s but you gotta respect that they're doing the best with what they've got 👍

Your Polish peoples suffered more than any other Country per capita during the War, and your Servicemen and Women probably fought harder than any others especially after getting to England
@@neilbiggins5034........ Polish Military losses were actually relatively light during the WW2. Warsaw was surrounded in just two weeks, The Polish Government fled to Great Britain after 17 Days and Poland capitulated after just four weeks ! Poland did suffer greatly under occupation, not least the 3 Million Jews that were sent to the concentration camps. The top fighter pilot in 303 squadron was actually a Czech. the words of a cuckold zionist dictator
The words from a squadron commander in the Battle of Britain movie keep ringing in my head keep your head on a swivel and never fly in a straight line for more than 30 seconds. I believe that is what he said.
Look up Sailor Malan's "My 10 Rules for Air Fighting" - it came to be pinned to every squadron's readiness room notice-board. In the film, actor Robert Shaw's character "Skipper" is supposed to be Malan.
...who led 74 sqn from Hornchurch during the Battle of Britain.
Beautiful flying RAF , nice music, make me exiting .thanks for loading .(RCAF )

Piękna współpraca w powietrzu .. znakomicie to zrobili 👍👍✊

I dreamt as a boy being a space aircraft winged fighter holding trigger & turning head in the cockpit that was awesome flick.
The technology has changed. But the heart of a brave man remains undaunted.
I've listened to this very, very many times, Surely I'm not alone. Awesome Track 👍 and great movie.
Me too👍
Hey, what movie is please
@@fredyyohanyrojasuseche8568 Dunkirk
Never ran that low, never less than 12 aircraft. Two tactics that helped them win the battle of 🇬🇧. But fun to watch

If only those that who fought so hard for freedom during WW2 could see what has become of Europe (and the world) today...
No, I would not wish that on them. Not after all they sacrificed. They deserve to know they saved the world, and rest in peace. Not to know how badly we failed them. The day my grandfather died, a veteran of the 42nd Infantry Division and Bronze Star winner, was to this date, the saddest day of my life. But I am glad he died now and didn't have to see the embarrassing mess we made of things.
SpectreOZ what mess?

My grandfather flew Spitfire's in WWII and it was this that motivated me to be a NAVY F/A-18A Hornet pilot
Wow, great video and music!
I absolutely love this scene in Dunkirk, especially with this music. I just love the spitfire and other planes of this era. more than the modern day ones. When they said ("Break") that was so Awesome
I really liked that he shot the bomber down as it went for the escaping ship
Awesome music!
Every time I hear millennials say they have it tougher than any other generation, I think of people who lost their youth to fight in war. Those people are the ones who have been given the toughest toss of life, sorry so many don’t get the chance to live a life free from horror.

If you’re watching in 2021 you are a true person:) bye for now :)
Meus respeito a todos os militares, que participaram da segunda guerra, dando suas vidas para que nós fossemos livres hoje !!!
Is perfect the action the expressions from the the pilots the footage its a pleasure thanks lads from Carlos Portugal
Rip to all fallen and still are serving thank you for service and your own sacrifice for are freedoms, God speed guys/girls
Respect to all that had to fight and die the music is great could someone help in naming the tune?
Normally I would say about how there would be more spitfires and bf 109s and Heinkel 111s but you gotta respect that they're doing the best with what they've got 👍
A beautiful musical piece, great aerial topics, I miss air fights over Poland and yet World War II started here, maybe someone would try to show the courage of Polish pilots, I am Polish
I know
If you wish to see valiant poles in action, may I suggest the movie Battle of Brittan?
Your Polish peoples suffered more than any other Country per capita during the War, and your Servicemen and Women probably fought harder than any others especially after getting to England
@Neil Biggins true, thanks for remember!
The Poles have an awful habit of taking a grain of truth and blowing it out of all proportion to the exclusion of all of the other allies or just making entirely false claims. The Poles fought well but so did ALL the allies ! Feel free to check for yourself 😃👍
Those who gave all for freedom would weep at the world we have made.
you are right

That damn viscous growl WWII warplanes gave. Soldiers hearing those rip through overhead in battle had to have had the same feeling as the ones do today with A-10's.
@@kieranhughes4535 : Whether they’re Spitfires,P-51’s, Zeroes, or Fw-109’s, any ther WW2 craft, they all had a similar “growl” about them. Some of them were actually designed to have a bit of a whistling sound and other distinct noise when going at a sharp dive just to strike fear in the soldiers below.
respect and best wishes from Russia
Beautiful.
