Found these awesome folding boat cleats that were just what I was looking for to keep the decks clean and without tripping hazards. I debated on a few options for how to mount them and styles to use but I'm thrilled with the direction I went. Just a FYI, for cleats, its a better idea to use a nut and bolt if you can, theyre much stronger than screws. If you want to tie up your boat for an extended time, or if you ever have to get towed, you'll need the extra strength. I can't tell you how many cleats ive personally seen get ripped off because they weren't secure. Also, thanks again for that awesome rivet tutorial you did like a year ago. I just cut and re riveted 13 on the bottom of my boat...no wonder it was taking on so much water. I couldn't use the proper brazier rivets (no access from the top) but i was able to get some closed end rivets and further sealed em with 5200. Ill be surprised if they ever leak again.
Awesome job the rivets, I bet it's running a lot drier now, haha.
Yeah bolts are definitely a stronger connection, I added cleats primarily these for dock tie offs. Didn't have access to the underside of the deck so just went with screws all around. Held up great so far! 👍🤞
